Tata Motors is actively marking its presence in the EV space in India. The auto giant has already added up five EV models to its catalogue including the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, XPress T, Punch EV, and the newly introduced Curvv EV. The Tiago EV comes as Tata’s bet in the affordable hatchback segment which now has proved to be the brand’s best-selling model. At least, that’s what the new sales milestone reveals.

Tata Tiago New Sales Milestone

The Tiago EV has become one of the most delivered electric four wheeler from Tata Motors in India. This electric hatchback has achieved a sales milestone of 50,000 units. This astonishing sales figures have been logged by the Tiago EV in a short span. These high delivery figures indicate the massive popularity this electric hatch from Tata has grabbed from the customers all across India.

Just to recap, the Tiago EV was launched back in 2022 in India with its deliveries commencing in 2023. It is introduced in four variants called Tiago EV XE, Taigo EV XT, Tiago EV XZ+, and the Tiago EV XZ+ Lux. The prices for the Tiago EV starts at Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex showroom) in the country with its top model being priced at around Rs. 11.49 lakh (ex showroom). Buyers get to choose the Tiago EV from Daytona Grey, Midnight Plum, Pristine White, Teal Blue, and Tropical Mist color options.

Tata Tiago EV Top Features

Tata Tiago EV’s lower trims feature a 19.2 kWh battery pack, while the higher trims integrate a bigger 24 kWh battery pack. The low-end models offer a claimed range of 250 km per charge, while the top trims offer 315 km per charge. Peak power and peak torque generated by the low-end and top-trims are 60 bhp and 110 Nm, 74 bhp and 114 Nm respectively.

MG Windsor EV Mega Delivery Event Bengaluru

JSW MG Motor India’s mega delivery event of the Windsor EV has been a great success. The company has delivered the highest volumes of its first electric Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV), i.e., the Windsor EV. The event held in Banglore saw deliveries of 101 Windsor EV’s to the customers who had pre-booked this electric car. To recap, MG had received 15,000 bookings in the first 24 hours of commencing the registrations indicating the massive interests it logged from the Indian masses.

The cost for battery rental services is set at Rs. 3.5 per km. Variants of the Windsor EV includes Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. In terms of color options, it comes in Clay Beige, Pearl White, Stardust Black, and Pearl White.

Ola E-Scooter Catches Fire Outside Showroom

A new post is doing rounds on microblogging website revealing how an Ola-badged electric scooter caught fire. The incident happened right outside company’s showroom in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The post has been shared by Lavanya Ballal Jain (a Congress Spokesperson) that reads, “Just another fiery day in the life of an Ola scooter owner.”

Soon after the incident made it to the social media platforms, netizens started trolling Ola Electric. The company’s CEO (Bhavish Aggarwal) also have received huge backlashes from the customers and the public for its faulty electric scooters and repeated fire incidents. Some of the users even trolled the brand and the CEO asking if this is the preparation for Diwali or some new Diwali feature being offered with Ola electric scooters.

Any Response From Ola?

On the specific matter, Ola is yet to share any official response. However, Ola’s CEO earlier claimed over 99 percent of the issues with Ola e-scooters have been resolved for which he received huge backlashes. The company is yet to give a formal response to the CCPA on this matter and it remains to be seen what move it brings to address all these concerns.

Mahindra XUV.e9 Test Mule Clicked Ahead Of 2025 Launch

The new spy shots of the XUV.e9 have revealed the exteriors once again with the e-SUV flaunting a curved coupe-styling with a sloping roofline neatly merging with the rear profile. The curves have silhouettes are evident despite the test mule being wrapped heavily in camo.

If we look at its overall design profile, it seems to be taking on the Curvv EV which is also launched recently and is the first coupe-style EV from Tata. But it’s not just the XUV.e9, Mahindra is taking up the same approach with its new EV lineup. The remaining upcoming Mahindra EV’s including the BE.05 and the XUV.e8 follows the same design language.

As seen with the previous spy shots, the XUV.e9 will be featuring a C-shaped angular LED headlamp setup and C-shaped LED DRLs. The turn indicators will also be C-shaped. The same has also been confirmed with one of the design patents that Mahindra had filed recently. The XUV.e9 is further said to feature the new two-spoke electric steering wheel with mounted physical controls and possibly an illuminated logo.

Mahindra XUV.e9: Details We Know So Far

Besides the aforementioned design highlights, the XUV.e9 is known to be the brand’s first BEV (Born Electric Vehicle) that will be developed on the new INGLO platform. This e-SUV is expected to be launched with multiple battery pack options and is also said to come with single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD drivetrain options(possibly the top spec variant).

Mahindra BE 05: Fresh Details Revealed

Mahindra’a BE 05 has been subject to multiple leaks by now and the latest snapshots of its test mule re-iterates the curvy design along with the sloping roofline. The closer look of the side profile reveals ths use of flush-fitted door handles which has been tipped previously as well.

The BE 05’s real life road stance as seen in the leaked snapshots is robust which we expect will give the newly launched Tata Curvv EV a tough competition. The masculine appeal of the BE 05 is further enhanced with the big 20-inch wheels.

The new spy shots of the BE 05 doesn’t give a clear look of the fascia and the rear profile. But as seen in the previous spy shots, there will be the signature C-shaped LED DRL unit upfront. The rear profile will also include the same DRL design with the bumper flaunting a glossy black finish topped with chrome accents.

Speaking of the interiors, earlier spy shots have shown the new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated BE logo, dual infotainment screens with touch compatibility for the driver and co-passenger, and a digital driver display.

Mahindra BE 05 Known Specs And Features

Mahindra BE 05’s leaked spec-sheet hints at battery pack options ranging in between 60 kWh- 70 kWh. This new Mahindra electric SUV will be based on the new INGLO platform and is expected to offer up to 450 km range on a full charge. The BE 05’s official India launch is due on 2025 and it’s expected to be introduced with both single and dual motor options.

Upcoming TVS E2Ws In India: Expected Models

TVS Motor Company is planning to upgrade its product portfolio with two new E2W models. This move will be strengthening brand’s position in the electric two wheeler sector in the country. The timeline suggested for the new TVS electric two wheelers launch is for this financial year. This means the company could introduce the suggested models by the end of this year.

In a statement, TVS Motor Director and CEO KN Radhakrishnan, said, “As you are aware, we are well-planned for the electric mobility product line. You will be witnessing some more launches during this financial year…a new product is going to come to a customer segment. That will come in this financial year.”

Unfortunately, the names of the upcoming TVS electric two wheelers remain a mystery. And it can’t be said if the brand will be adding up electric scooters again or will now introduce an electric motorcycle as well.

Just to recap, the company currently has the iQube e-scooter in its portfolio which is available in different variants. Even if the brand is planning to launch a new electric scooter, whether or not it will be debuting in the iQube series is not known. The same is applicable on the price range which is difficult to guess at this point.

As expected, Royal Enfield will be sticking to its signature retro styling even with its EV models. At least, that’s what the latest spy shots of the upcoming Royal Enfield electric motorcycles indicates. Thanks to the undisguised snapshots of the RE Flying Flea e-motorcycle, we got to see the classic retro-design highlighted by the round LEDs and ORVMs. Both get chrome finish sticking true to the RE design language.

The new spy shots of the Rolyal Enfield Flying Flea electric motorcycle also shows design similarities in the instrument console which is round in shape as well. Another common design aspect between the electric and ICE RE motorcycles is the teardrop-style fuel tank. The tyre profile is where things gets different entirely.

Unlike the thick and bulky tyre seen with the ICE models, the Royal Enfield Flying Flea mounts slimmer tyres. This is one EV-specific design element which will help with reduced air drag and improve overall range efficiency. BYD India is giving massive benefits on its popular electric sedan, the Seal EV during the Diwali sale. Buyers can avail benefits worth up to Rs. 2.5 lakh on the Seal EV. However, thee’s a catch. The Chinese EV manufacturer is giving these benefits only on the top trim of the Seal EV. For reference, the Seal EV comes in three variants including Dynamic, Premium, And Performance.

The prices have been axed for the flagship variant. The discounts being offered are in the form of cash (Rs. 2 lakh) and additional 3-year service and maintenance package priced worth Rs. 50,000. The diwali offer is also announced for the Premium trim which attracts benefits worth Rs. 1 lakh. This includes up to worth Rs 50,000 cash discount combined with service package worth Rs 50,000 (complimentary).

To recap, the Seal EV prices in India starts at Rs. 41 lakh ( ex showroom) for the Dynamic trim, while the Premium variant carries a price label of Rs. 45.5 lakh (ex showroom). The BYD Performance has Rs. 53 lakh price tag.
