MG ZS EV Revised Prices In India

MG ZS EV’s select models whose prices have been hiked includes the Essence Dark Grey, Exclusive Plus Dark Grey, 100-Year Edition, and the Dual-Tone Iconic Ivory variants will now be available with a higher price tag than before.

Starting with the MG ZS EV Essence Dark Drey variant, it’s prices have been spiked by up to Rs. 32,000. On the other hand, a price hike of Rs. 31,000 is applicable on the ZS EV’s 100-Year Edition and the Essence Dual-Tone Iconic Ivory models. Lastly, the ZS EV’s Eseence Plus Dark Grey and the Exclusive Plus Dual-Tone Iconic Ivory models’ have received a price hike of Rs. 30,200.

As for the variant-wise price hikes, the ZS EV’s base and low-end variants including both Executive and Excite Pro doesn’t get any price hike, Only the top trims will now be expensive. Following the price revisions, the ZS EV can be purchased starting at Rs. 18.98 lakh (ex showroom) with the top trim going up to Rs. 25.75 lakh (ex showroom).

MG ZS EV: Powertrain And Feature Highlights

The MG ZS electric SUV runs on a single electric motor pack which produces 174 bhp of power and 353 Nm of peak torque. The motor pack is linked with a 50.3 kWh battery that can offer up to 461 km on full charge. Feature-wise, the ZS EV comes with advanced Level 2 safety with Speed Assist, Forward Collision Assist, Traffic Jam assist, adaptive cruise control, and more.

Raptee.HV has been introduced as a powerful electric motorcycle which is claimed to be as capable as a 250-300 cc ICE motorcycle. Under its hood is a IPMSM electric motor with 22 kW power output and 70 Nm of peak torque.

The motor pack is mated with a 5.4 kWh battery pack with which this e-motorcycle can achieve a maximum range of 150 km with per charge cycle. Speaking of its top speed, it can recah up to 135 kmph and accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 3.5 seconds.

Raptee.HV T30 electric motorcycle’s battery pack has an IP67 certification which safeguards it from water and dust further adding to the user safety. As previously stated, Raptee.HV T30 is the first electric motorcycle in India which comes with a CCS2 fast charger compatibility. This charging facility is currently only supported by the electric cars and none of the electric scooters or motorcycles offer the same.

Using a CCS2 fast charger, the Raptee T30 e-bike will take a charging time of just 36 minutes for a battery refuel from 20- 80 percent. Whereas, the same charging percentage using a standard charger will take around 60 minutes.

Raptee.HV T30 Electric Motorcycle Additional Features

Raptee.HV T30 has modern design cues where it flaunts LED headlamps and an H-shaped LED DRL. At the rear, the tail lamps are also LED and are accompanied by blinkers. This electric motorcycle will offer three riding modes including Comfort, Power, and Sprint. It also gets touchscreen instrument cluster, dual channel ABS comobined with dual disc brakes (320 mm front and 230 mm rear).

BYD is all set to take on the E2W segment with its first electric scooter soon. At least, that’s what the patent filing of the BYD e-scooter hints at. The leaked patent document of the first BYD e-scooter reveals a maxi-style scooter in works. A closer look at the patent drawings of the BYD e-scooters shows a large split seat design with heavy padding making it comfortable for both the rider and the pillion.

The facia seen in the patent image is further seen with a USD fork suspension and dual radial brake calipers. The rear profile of the BYD e-scooter as seen in the patent drawings feature a coaxially mounted swingarm that is linked to the motor.

Revolt RV1 is launched as a commuter e-motorcycle sporting a round LED headlamp and an oval tail lamp. The CRX is the third e-scooter from Warivo Motors in India which gets a modern design and has a large seat measuring 830 mm. Note, the Ather Rizta is currently the only e-scooter which has the segment’s largest 900 mm seat size which now is closely followed by the Wario CRX. This electric scooter offers a large under seat storage capacity as well taking on the top contenders with the 42 l capacity.

The CRX e-scooter has a 2.3 kWh battery pack which allows a range delivery of up to 90 km on a full charge as per the brand. The battery pack is linked with a 1500W BLDC motor that can produce up to 85 Nm of torque. As for its top speed, it can reach up to 55 kmph wit full acceleration.

The Wario CRX also has a Battery Management System (BMS) combined with four advanced temperature sensors that keeps a check on battery overheating and related issues. In fact, the battery pack is said to be water and blast-proof and has UL2771 safety standards.

Ola Electric seems to have landed in soup once again. This time a Bengaluru resident shared a post on the microblogging website X tagging Ola and warning citizens from adhering to purchase an Ola e-scooter. The e-scooter owner, Nisha C Shekhar, apparently got fed up with the multiple breakdowns she had to experience post the purchase. That’s not it, the customer has also been unhappy with the response of the service center and no resolution being provided for the issue.

As per the post, the customer received the e-scooter after a system update from the service center. However, the issue didn’t get resolved and she had to drag and pull the e-scooter for a km at night. The post shared on X shows the placard on the Ola e-scooter stating, “Dear Kannadigas, Ola is a useless two-wheeler. If you buy one, it will only make your life hard. Please do not buy an Ola Electric scooter.”

Response From Ola On The Matter?

Ola is unresponsive on this matter as of now and is yet to acknowledge this incident. The low-end trims of the eVX will likely employ a 48 kWh battery, whereas, the high-spec trims are expected with a bigger 60 kWh battery pack. While the exact range is not confirmed, the eVX could possible make a run of up to 550 km with a full battery charge cycle.

Maruti eWX Electric Hatchback, YMC Electric MPV Expected Details

Moving on to the eWX, it is said to be an electric hatchback which also has been showcased but internationally. Introduced during the Japan Mobility Show, the Maruti Suzuki eWX is expected to take on the affordable electric hatchs including the Tata Tiago EV. This EV will use a different platform than the eVX, i.e., K-EV platform. No other information is available as of now. However, its is being anticipated the eWX will be going official by 2026- 2027 globally including India.

Next in line is the Maruti’s electric hatchback, i.e, YMC (internal codename for the EV). It is rumored to be loosely based on the Ertiga ICE model featuring an all-electric drivetrain. This upcoming EV is expected to share the same Born Electric platform as the eVX which has been designed in association with Toyota. The YMC is further said to borrow features and powertrain from the eVX electric SUV. As far as the launch is concerned, the YMC electric MPC is also heading to India by later 2026.

JSW MG Motor India is all set for its next EV venture in India with its first intelligent CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle), the Windsor EV next month. Right ahead of it, the company introduced multiple new EV ecosystem at its DriEV.Bharat event held in New Delhi. The first-of-king initiative to boost the EV infrastructure in the country brings along a dedicated app for all EV charging concerns, a learning platform for EVs, a repurpose program for used EV batteries, and an interactive platform for games, learning, and entertainment. Here are the top highlights from today’s MG Motor India’s DriEV.Bharat event:

eHUB By MG App

This is a dedicated mobile app introduced by MG Motor to address the common concern of owning an EV, i.e., charging and its infrastructure. The eHUB by MG will be serving as a one-stop solution for the consumers by provide crucial details such as locating a near by charging station.

This app will also allow the customers to reserve any specific slot for charging at the desired stations which will help cut down on the wait time. MG Motor has teamed up with the major charging network provides such as Adani Total Energies Limited, BPCL, Chargezone, Glida, HPCL, Jio-BP, Shell, Statiq, Zeon, and more. The eHUB app is compatible with approx. 11 native languages for easy usage.

Project REVIVE

This is one of the best initiatives from MG Motor which promotes the economical and greener mobility solution in the country. Project Revive is an initiative that comes in partnership with TERI and Lohum. The goal is to repurpose the used EV batteries as energy sources for schools and community centers.

The idea is to lower down the waste emission and offer reliable power source for the undeserved communities in the country. A pilot project is underway at a school in Mukteshwar, Uttrakhand, where the used EV batteries are keeping the lights on.

EVPEDIA Learning Platform

MG Motor India also introduced EVPEDIA at the DriEV.Bharat event today which essentially is a learning platform for electric vehicles. The platform is designed in a way that it is easily accessible to the customers and will offer all the knowledge-base one needs for EVS. With the EVPEDIA learning platform customers will be able to use practical tools that will help them with assessing the costs of EV ownership. With EVPEDIA, consumers will also be able to read various research papers, government policies, and more related to electric vehicles. This platform takes a step ahead with the integrated AI-powered chatbot called eVir. Users can get answers to different EV queries from this chatbot.

MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP)

The final initiative introduced at the event is the MG-Jio ICP (Innovative Connectivity Platform). This platform is a joint venture between MG Motor India and Jio which is designed to redefine the in-car experience for the customers. The MG-Jio ICP platform is primarily a hub for gaming, entertainment, and learning which users will get to access inside the car’s cabin. It also has voice command compatibility in six different Indian languages which again is one-of-a-kind move by an automotive giant in the EV sector.
