MG ZS EV Excite Base Version Priced At Rs 22.58 Lakh

MG Motor India has finally launched the base version of the ZS EV. The Excite model was announced a few months back but finally goes on sale at Rs 22.58 lakh. This has helped MG narrow down the price gap between the ZS EV and the Nexon EV Maxx. Till now, only the Exclusive variant of the ZS was on sale despite the brand having confirmed both Excite and Exclusive variants. The MG ZS EV Excite variant, although being the base model, comes with a tonne of goodies and the same 50.3 kWh battery pack as the Exclusive model. Hence performance and range remains unchanged.

Additionally, the Exclusive trim now costs Rs 61,000 more as compared to the launch price and includes a new interior color in addition to some extra features. Now, the prices of the Exclusive trim range between Rs. 26.50 lakh and Rs. 26.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

MG ZS EV Excite Variant

MG Motor increased the price of the model upon its launch after six months after the announcement. When the Excite variant was first announced, it was priced at Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, around the time of the variant’s launch, the brand upped the price by Rs 59,000, making it currently cost Rs 22.58 lakh (ex-showroom).

The base Excite model also includes a 50.3 kWh battery pack that has a maximum output of 280 Nm and 174 bhp of power. It can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and boasts a 461 km (claimed) driving range. A DC fast-charger can effortlessly charge the battery up to 80% in 60 minutes. One can also charge the ZS EV using an AC fast charger in approximately 8.5–9 hours. The car kit includes a portable charging cable that can be connected to any 15A outlet to charge the ZS EV to 100% in 18 to 19 hours.

Automatic climate control, rear AC vents, rain-sensing wipers, a 7-inch digital instrument panel, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 5 USB ports, 2 Type C ports, and other features are available in the list of features. Six airbags, a 360-degree camera, an ESC, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill descent control, hill start assist, heated ORVMs, and other safety features are part of the safety net. It also gets new MG i-Smart features.

MG ZS EV Exclusive Variant

As previously stated, the Exclusive variant now costs Rs. 26.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Some additional features, such as wireless charging, the dual-tone Iconic Ivory interior theme, rear driver assistance, a dual-pane panoramic sky roof, and new i-Smart features are also part of the recent price hike.

The MG ZS EV’s Excite variant will be able to compete with the Tata Nexon EV Max and the to be launching Mahindra XUV400 electric. On the other hand the Exclusive variant lock horns with the Hyundai Kona EV.
