The Motorola Edge 40 launched in India today, May 23. The phone was first launched earlier this month in a small number of territories in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro was also made available by the business last month in a few European markets. However, for the time being, the Motorola Edge 40 base model is all that is available in India. A MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset powers the phone, which is only offered with one RAM and storage capacity. The smartphone is available in three color variations.

The Motorola Edge 40 features a 6.55-inch full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) pOLED display panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a maximum brightness of 1200 nits. The curved 3D glass has an anti-fingerprint coating, and the display is bordered by bezels made of sandblasted aluminum.

The Motorola Edge 40 is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8020 5G SoC, 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. The dual-SIM phone can support e-SIM cards and comes pre-installed with Android 13. A two-year OS upgrade and a three-year security update are promised by the company.

A 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) capability and a 13-megapixel sensor with an ultrawide lens for macro vision make up the dual back camera unit of the Motorola Edge 40’s optics. Along with two LED flash units, they are mounted atop a square camera module in the top left corner of the back panel. The top of the display’s center-aligned hole-punch slot houses the 32-megapixel front camera sensor.

The Motorola Edge 40 has a 4,400mAh battery that supports wired charging at 68W TurboPower and wireless charging at 15W. Additionally, it supports Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, and WiFi 6. A USB Type-C port is also included. The device has a face unlock sensor and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The phone has an IP68 rating, and according to Motorola, it is the thinnest phone in its class to do so.

Motorola Edge 40: Price And Availability

The Motorola Edge 40, which has launched as the successor to the Motorola Edge 30, comes in a single configuration with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Pre-orders for the phone, which has a retail price of Rs. 29,999, can be made starting on May 23 at 12 PM IST through Flipkart. The phone will go on sale starting May 30.

Select clients who use specific bank cards when making the purchase can also choose from no-cost EMI alternatives with monthly payments starting at Rs. 5,000. An exchange offer of up to Rs 2,000 could also be availed.

Three color options—Eclipse Black, Lunar Blue, and Nebula Green—are available for the phone. While the blue edition has a matte acrylic rear panel, the green and black variants come with a vegan leatherback finish.
