The HP 14s-Dy2500TU is designed to be your average laptop that gets the job done. Powered by the Intel 11th Gen i3 Dual-core chip, the HP 14s-Dy2500TU does not have the power to run through AAA games but normal office work will be a breeze. The chipset makes sure that your laptop can handle day-to-day tasks without much fuss. With a top speed of 4.1 GHz, the Intel 11th Gen i3 Dual-Core chip uses Intel’s proprietary Max Turbo Boost technology to improve its performance. That 4.1 GHz speed means that HP 14s-Dy2500TU can handle even some AA games with ease. You get 8 GB DDR4 RAM with a clock speed of 2666 MHz.

The graphics on the HP 14s-Dy2500TU are handled by an integrated Intel UHD Graphics Card. The graphics capabilities are not designed for gamers. But for office users the graphics rendering is satisfactory. For normal office users of laptops and even students, the HP 14s-Dy2500TU is fast enough to keep up with you.

The HP 14s-Dy2500TU gives a respectable battery backup of claimed 12 hours of regular usage. But the reality is far from what is claimed. Running on a 3 cell 41 Whr Li-ion battery the HP 14s-Dy2500TU packs an average size battery with just enough juice to be there for the important moments of the day. You get an inbuilt internal microphone and a webcam, a common feature amongst all laptops today. For the audio output, the laptop comes with dual speakers. You also get built-in support for Alexa which is a good addition to have. You get a standard QWERTY keyboard with a touchpad that could be bigger. The keyboard is a bit disappointing with the keys being too noisy and no backlit features. The HP 14s-Dy2500TU supports WiFi v802.11 and Bluetooth v5 along with various ports namely a card reader, a USB type C port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, and an HDMI port.

The HP 14s-Dy2500TU has a 14 inch LED screen. The colour tones are on the warmer side but not so much as to lose originality. The screen has a resolution of 1920x 1080 pixels with a pixel density of 157 pixels per inch (approx.). The HP 14s-Dy2500TU supports full HD resolution but watching movies might not be your first thought for this laptop. There are features like HP Micro-edge to improve the screen display, a staple in most HP laptops. The screen has a brightness of 250 nits with Brightview technology and a 45% NTSC display. For those of us not with a tech background, NTSC is a measure of the colour gradient and 45% NTSC is good for office work but not for animation work. For normal office work, the screen should be perfect as long as you avoid binge-watching in the office.

HP has done an above-average job on the HP 14s-Dy2500TU in terms of design. Besides giving the plastic exterior a good finish, there is not much innovation in the design of the HP 14s-Dy2500TU. The bezels are chunky and the laptop appears much like a generic HP laptop. But with a modest price tag, HP 14s-Dy2500TU has a very light outer body and is designed to ease the regular handling of the laptop. There are dual speakers at the bottom of the HP 14s-Dy2500TU.

The HP 14s-Dy2500TU has an efficient cooling system but nothing too fancy or robust. Be wary of doing any CPU-intensive task for a prolonged time as the laptop will become considerably hot, probably due to the fan being directly under the laptop. The chipset and the components are accompanied by an SSD with PCle NVMe buses that is fast enough to keep pace with the system. With so many features you would expect the HP 14s-Dy2500TU to be a heavy bulky design but the makers at HP made sure that the laptop weighs in at just 1.46 kgs. As a standard, you get a Windows 10 Home Basic, a 64-bit architecture with a reflective HP logo.
