Design
The display looks impressive, with a 14-inch screen, 2560 * 1440 pixels and 210 PPI. It has an OLED display with no touch screen. The only small issue we found was that when you increase the brightness level on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, it increases gradually at the start, but at the last level, the brightness increases drastically in one step. This was slightly inconvenient as your eyes are exposed to a blinding brightness suddenly. However, the display comes with an anti-glare screen that helps you to reduce eye strain.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon comes with 2 USB ports and one HDMI port. It also has a microphone jack. Hence, this is fairly adequate for an average user. If you are looking for more connectivity options, you may want to skip this one. It has a new quad speaker Dolby Atmos system for audio, but even this was a little disappointing as the audio seemed a little hollow.
The highlight of the design features is the Carbon Fiber chassis and the covering of an ultra-sensitive soft-touch coating. It makes the laptop super light and feels luxurious to use. The laptop size is around 217 * 323 * 14.9 mm and weighs just about 1.08 kgs.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon has a webcam for all your video conferencing needs and to unlock your laptop using the webcam. However, we noticed that as the camera quality is not that great, up to 30% of the times, Windows Hello fails to recognize you with the camera. However, this is a very small issue as the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon also comes with an option for using your fingerprint for unlocking, which proves to be much more convenient.

Performance:
The keypad of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is luxurious to use with deep travel and comfortable typing as compared to the other laptops like a Dell or a Mac. However, we found a few key placements a slight inconvenience. The left side Ctrl button, which normally is the leftmost key to the bottom has switched places with the left Fn button. This actually is convenient for Mac users, but for others, it is a little irritating when you find out your words haven't been copied or cut because you pressed the Fn key instead of the Ctrl key. This is, however, isn’t a dealbreaker.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, which gives you a speed of 1.8GHz and a Quad-Core Turbo Boost up to 4.9 GHz. The laptop seems to handle moderate usage well and runs smoothly while carrying any day to day tasks like sending emails or working on excel sheets. However, the same can’t be said for the gaming experience on this laptop.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon also has an intel UHD graphics display which gives you crystal clear and sharp images on the screen. It has a 16 GB LPDDR3 RAM and an SSD card of 512 GB.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon has a four-cell battery and holds up pretty well under normal usage. The laptop runs out of charge when unplugged only after some 7-8 hours of work. Also, on a low battery mode, the laptop can last up to 14 hours.
