Mahindra BE 6e Name Changed To Just BE 6: Here’s What Happened

In a recent spat with Indigo Airlines, Mahindra BE 6e’s moniker has been re-badged to just BE 6. This new model name is said to be temporary as Mahindra is planning to take a legal route. The disputes between both the brands started when InterGlobe raised objections to Mahindra for using the “6e” nameplate. Indigo highlights the 6e badging is an integral part of its identity which Mahindra is infringing by using the same nameplate for its new e-SUV.

In a response, Mahindra suggests that the BE 6e trademark for its e-SUV has been trademarked under the Class 12 section which isn’t the same as that of InterGlobe’s. And this collective “BE 6e” moniker is different than that of the Indigo’s “6e” labeling. Hence, Mahindra will be contesting for its right to continue using the BE 6e moniker for its latest e-SUV.

What Else Mahindra Says?

That’s not it, Mahindra gas also highlighted how InterGlobe isn’t being consistent with its own conducts. The company has highlighted how InterGlobe went ahead with using the IndiGo nameplate despite several objections by Tata Motors who was selling the Indigo sedan car. We are not sure until when the Mahindra BE 6 moniker will be used. Considering the deliveries will likely start by February end or early March 2025, it would be interesting to see what the first batch would be sold as “Be 6” or “Be 6e”.

Hero Electric Online Website Shuts Down? Or Is It A Temporary Error?

Key Highlights

  • Hero Electric official India website is down
  • Service Unavailable since almost two weeks
  • Alleged FAME II subsidy fraud speculated to be the reason

Hero Electric has been amongst the first brands that started offering affordable electric two-wheeler in the Indian market. The company has been selling budget e-scooters for almost 15 years now but seems like it has landed in troubles and might be experiencing issues with operations. The official online website of Hero Elctric has been down for a while now. Is this just a technical glitch or some real troubles? Find out below:

Hero Electric Website Service Unavailable? Temporary Glitch Or Real Troubles?

Hero Electric’s online website is apparently down since last two weeks. Just for reference, we are speaking of the heroelectric.in website that now shows “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable” was functional before the brand allegedly came under scanner for FAME II subsidy frauds. Even if we click on the product pages that list up on Google after searching for the website, the same error shows up.

The earlier speculations suggested the website’s services were unavailable due to technical glitches. However, the same error being shown for almost two weeks at a stretch points otherwise. For those unaware with the FAME II subsidy misappropriation, it’s the fraud that’s associated with the subsidy on the parts that were meant to be imported but have been rather manufactured locally to get the maximum monetary benefits.

Troubles Only For Hero Electric?

But it’s not just Hero Electric that has come under the radar for the FAME subsidy frauds. In fact, some of the other popular electric two wheeler manufacturers such as Okinawa and Benling India have also taken a hit for the same. All these three brands are said to have committed around Rs. 297 crore FAME II scheme which is governed by the Ministry of Heavy Industries in India.
