Tata Nexon EV Fire Accident: What’s The Case?

As mentioned, this incident dates back to last year (2023) where a Nexon EV customer named Mr. Jonathan Brainard filed a complaint on the district consumer disputes redressal commission of Hyderabad. Narrating the ordeal, Brainard said he had selected the Nexon EV for being the safest cars i India while offering high-comfort levels and overall reliability. But after an initial good run, the issues with his Nexon EV started.

The issues experienced were related to the battery where the car wouldn’t make a move even with 18 percent of battery remaining. The customer was also unable to engage the drive mode multiple times which made it a difficult driving experience. All these issues started appearing within 11 months of the purchase.

Upon paying a visit to the service centre, the issue diagnosed was related to the High Voltage (HV) video pack which was depleted. The replacement of the defective part was done.
