BMW CE 02 E-Scooter

BMW Motorrad is all set for its second E2W launch in India. Following the CE 04, the company is bringing yet another premium e-scooter, i.e., the CE 02. BMW has already commenced the pre-bookings confirming its upcoming launch in the country. While the date is not revealed officially, words doing rounds that the deliveries of the CE 02 e-scooter could begin from September itself.

Interestingly, BMW will be manufacturing the CE 02 at TVS Hosur plant and the locally manufactured units will be exported globally. The BME CE 02 has dual 2kWH battery pack clubbed with a 15 bhp electric motor. The e-scooter has a range delivery of 90 km per charge and up to 95 kmph top speed.

Kinetic Family E-Scooter

Kinetic Green has started working on a new e-scooter which will be for the family-segment of consumers. Salujja Firoda Motwani, Kinetic Green’s CEO and founder had shared this development recently. Currently, the details related to the new Kinetic electric scooter are vague but a mystery model from the brand had been snapped multiple times during testing. The urban commuting e-scooter from Kinetic will be the second big launch after the Luna e-moped.

BGauss RUV350 E-Scooter

BGauss RUV 350 is another e-scooter model which is expected to be available soon in India. BGauss had officially unveiled this e-scooter a while back and has started its production recently at its Chakan manufacturing unit. The customers who had done the pre-bookings will be getting their hands first on the e-scooter that is priced starting at Rs. 1.10 lakh.

BYD E-Scooter

BYD recently filed a patent for its new electric scooter. The patent drawings of the e-scooter have surfaced online which reveals a maxi-style e-scooter which will be equivalent to a 250- 350 cc of ICE scooters producing up to 35 bhp of power. The battery pack could range between 9- 10 kWh. While the BYD e-scooter is still in development phase, there are sleek chances it gets launched this year itself in India. However, BYD is rapidly expanding its EV portfolio in India and could bring this e-scooter sooner than expected in the country.

Revolt RV400 Updated Version Highlights: What’s New?

The newly launched Revolt RV400 variant has received no major design upgrade. It’s just the new color schemes that the e-motorcycle has received. Besides the existing color options, the updated RV400 e-motorcycle will now be available in Lunar Green paint scheme as well.

All the remaining structure of the e-motorcycle remains intact. Except for the new additions which include a centre stand. The updated RV400 have also received new set of leg guards. The features that will now be available with the RV400 will be Reverse mode and also a new digital display which gets Bluetooth compatibility to pair smartphones.

Updated Revolt RV400 E-Motorcycle Variant Powertrain

The powertrain has received no alterations in the updated RV400 electric motorcycle. It gets the same mid-drive electric motor with 3kW output. While the 3.24 kWh battery pack remains intact, it is refined for a better performance providing an extended range of up to 160 km per charge. The previous range delivery with the Revolt RV400 electric motorcycle was up to 150 km per charge.

The charging time for the battery pack will be up to 90 minutes as per the brand. These charging speeds will be achieved with the new fast charger which customers can buy from the nearby dealerships.

BYD E-Scooter Patent Filing Hints Upcoming Launch

BYD is all set to take on the E2W segment with its first electric scooter soon. At least, that’s what the patent filing of the BYD e-scooter hints at. The leaked patent document of the first BYD e-scooter reveals a maxi-style scooter in works. A closer look at the patent drawings of the BYD e-scooters shows a large split seat design with heavy padding making it comfortable for both the rider and the pillion.

The facia seen in the patent image is further seen with a USD fork suspension and dual radial brake calipers. The rear profile of the BYD e-scooter as seen in the patent drawings feature a coaxially mounted swingarm that is linked to the motor.

The CRX is the third e-scooter from Warivo Motors in India which gets a modern design and has a large seat measuring 830 mm. This electric scooter offers a large under seat storage capacity as well taking on the top contenders with the 42 l capacity.

The CRX e-scooter has a 2.3 kWh battery pack which allows a range delivery of up to 90 km on a full charge as per the brand. The battery pack is linked with a 1500W BLDC motor that can produce up to 85 Nm of torque. As for its top speed, it can reach up to 55 kmph wit full acceleration.

Ola Electric seems to have landed in soup once again. This time a Bengaluru resident shared a post on the microblogging website X tagging Ola and warning citizens from adhering to purchase an Ola e-scooter. The e-scooter owner, Nisha C Shekhar, apparently got fed up with the multiple breakdowns she had to experience post the purchase. That’s not it, the customer has also been unhappy with the response of the service center and no resolution being provided for the issue.

As per the post, the customer received the e-scooter after a system update from the service center. However, the issue didn’t get resolved and she had to drag and pull the e-scooter for a km at night. The post shared on X shows the placard on the Ola e-scooter stating, “Dear Kannadigas, Ola is a useless two-wheeler. If you buy one, it will only make your life hard. Please do not buy an Ola Electric scooter.”

Response From Ola On The Matter?

Ola is unresponsive on this matter as of now and is yet to acknowledge this incident. The Revolt AW1 as stated above is rumored to be an affordable electric motorcycle. The third offering from Revolt Motors is launching on September 17, 2024, i.e., tomorrow. The feature and the spec-sheet has been leaked right before its debut in the form of an internal presentation.

It is being suggested that the AW1 is an abbreviation for “Are We One”. While the feature sheet has been leaked, there is no word on its pricing except for the fact that it will be a budget-oriented model. The Revolt AW1 V1 variant will come with a 2.2 kWh battery pack and is said to offer over 100 km range. On the other hand, the Revolt AW1 V2 variant will employ a bigger 3.24 kWh battery pack and will possibly deliver over 150 km range on a full charge. Ather Energy New EV Platforms Under Development

Ather Energy has confirmed the development of the new EV platform for its new-generation electric two wheelers. The platforms being developed are called “Zenith” and “EL”. The former will be powering the Ather electric motorcycles, while the latter will be used for developing electric scooters.

As per the reports, the EL platform will be utilizing the existing Ather 450 e-scooter’s platform with several optimizations and enhancements for an upgraded performance. That said, the Zenith platform which will be used for the e-motorcycles. The new platform will allow Ather e-motorcycles to take on the up to 300 cc motorcycles.

Furthermore, the Athr e-motorcycles featuring the new Zenith platform will also be integrating advanced range of features such as digital instrument console with Bluetooth compatibility. The instrument cluster will also offer navigational services and display ride, battery stats.

Ather Electric Motorcycle: When Is The Launch Expected?

The Ather electric motorcycle that will be based on the Zenith platform might launch in the coming years. Unfortunately, no exact timeline is known as of now.
