Maruti Suzuki will be kicking off its EV venture with the eVX electric SUV in India. Some recent rumors suggested a delayed launch timeline for the eVX which now is anticipated to arrive during the festive season in 2025. And it seems that Maruti is making space for its second EV model already. The developments comes with the eWX patent images making way online.
Maruti Suzuki eWX will be a compact electric car whose showcasing has already been done at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show. The second EV has been granted patent which confirms its arrival in the Indian market. Of course, it will debut post the eVX considering its still a long way from hitting the production bay.
The images of the eWX EV’s design patent is same as the concept model. The compact boxy design seems a newer version of the Waganor. But this could be just mere resemblance between the design language and not indeed the EV rebadging. Looking at the images, the vertical LED headlamps and the updated grille highlights the EV-centric design attributes of the eWX.
The compact EV’s patent images further shows ORVMs mounted on the A-pillar and an extended windshield merging with the roofline. The eWX is also seen with standard full covered wheel caps instead of alloy wheels. However, this is just a patent image and it could feature different set of wheels with the production-ready models.
Maruti eWX is still in the development stage which is why limited information is available on its powertrain and specs. But since the eWX is a compact electric car and likely an affordable offering, it is likely to feature a single electric motor setup mounted on the front or rear axle. The battery information is also at large but it is expected to make a run of up to 230 km on a full battery charge.
Realme is back with a new GT series handset in India after almost two years. The GT 6T is the latest entrant which comes in as a treat for the gaming enthusiasts. With its introductory price of Rs. , the Realme GT 6T seems to be a solid offering and a well-rounded gaming unit. We fiddled with the unit at the launch event for a while. And here is our initial impressions of the newly launched Realme GT 6T.
Realme GT 6T has a stunning 6.7-inch AMOLED display supporting 1.5k resolution of 1264 x 2780 pixels. This phone’s biggest highlight is definitely the 6,000 nits peak brightness that will allow clear visibility under direct sunlight. Be it general content consumption or gaming, visuals will be clear under harsh sunlight. Besides, it’s for the first time any brand has integrated an 8T LTPO panel on a premium mid-tier gaming handset. The touch feedback is smooth and responsive which will elevate the gaming experience overall.
Realme GT has indeed been the performance-oriented lineup and the GT 6T seems to follow the same lead. It employs the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 mobile chipset which is fabricated using 4nm process. It is one of the most powerful SoCs for high-end mid-tier Android phones that makes the GT 6T a performance beast.
The added Iceberg Vapor Cooling System handles will keep the device cool even with extensive gameplay. Realme has launched the GT 6T with dual RAM and triple storage configuration options. There is the base variant which has 8GB RAM+ 128GB storage, the mid variant packed with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and the top model featuring 12GB RAM+ 512GB storage. Expect a swift performance delivery with the GT 6T with all tasks with the aforementioned setup.
This new GT series handset from Realme gets a potent camera hardware too. The rear profile gets a 50MP primary Sony LYT-600 sensor accompanied by an 8MP secondary Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens which has 112° FoV. The camera app has multiple shooting modes and presets ranging from Night scenes, Portrait, Street Shooting, Movie mode, Long Exposure, Time-lapse, and others. The massive 32MP selfie snapper upfront has also shown promising results during the quick testing. The rear camera captured good details during the initial testing at the demo zone. We are still waiting for the review unit and will share the true camera potential of the GT 6T in the coming weeks.
The Realme GT 6T gets a bigger battery pack than what the standard market offers. While most of the phones today feature a 5,000 mAh battery in the premium mid-tier segment, the GT 6T takes a lead with the 5,500 mAh battery. Not just an extended backup, the GT 6T takes a lead with the fastest charging speeds in its league. This handset comes with 120W SuperVOOC flash charging which is claimed to add up to 50 percent charge within 10 minutes of a plug in.
Realme GT series has made its comeback with a bang. The latest edition to this powerful Android smartphone lineup seems an all-rounder. At least, that’s the first impressions we have received during the initial usage. Nevertheless, the GT 6T does pack promising hardware and is future-ready too. This phone will definitely stir up the market competition and can be a potential flagship killer with its aggressive pricing.
Production-ready Mahindra BE.05 interiors snapped again
Two-spoke steering wheel confirmed
Dual-screen infotainment system also revealed
Mahindra BE and XUV.e EVs ar going through rigorous testings ahead of their launch. We have come across multiple prototypes doing tests on the Indian streets and highways. Just a while ago, the BE.05′ interiors were spied while the EV was being tested in Ladakh region. Now, the upcoming EV has been snapped once again in an apparent production-ready avatar. This time as well, the highlight of the latest spy shot leak is the interiors. Is there any new information revealed this time? Know the details below:
The Mahindra BE.05’s new production-ready prototypes snapshot doing rounds online focuses primarily on the interiors. Similar to the previous leak. the BE.05’s dashboard can be seen mounting a two-spoke steering wheel. It has hexagonal shape and features an illuminated BE logo which we have seen with the previous spy shots as well.
The steering wheel is further seen housing a bunch of physical control keys. These keys will allow media playback control, climate control (likely) and offer quick access to other controls. The interiors of the BE.05 is further seen sporting an all-black paint scheme unlike the dual-tone dashboard design which seems to be the new hype. It appears that the dashboard will have soft-touch material finish to give this compact EV a premium feel.
Moving in to the centre console of the BE.05 EV, the leaked spy shots shows a floating design as was showcased with the concept. A big gear shifter and a rotary dial is also seen at the centre console. A dedicated area is also present for storing smartphones and other objects.
As for the infotainment screen, the Mahindra BE.05’s prototype is snapped with a dual infotainment and driver display module. The infotainment screen is likely to get both Android Auto and Apple Car Play support. A large armrest at the centre seems to separate the driver and passenger areas.
Mahindra BE.05 Specifications: Any Details Available Yet?
The Mahindra BE.05 will be built on the INGLO EV platform and is said to measure 4370 mm x 1900 mm x 1635 mm in length, width, and height respectively with the wheelbase measuring around 2,755 mm. This EV is further expected to be available with multiple battery options which could range from 60- 80 kWh capacity. The BE.05 could come with both single and dual motor RWD, AWD drivetrain options respectively.
Realme‘s C series is one of the best budget Android smartphone lineup in India. This lineup has just been expanded with the first 5G handset — the Realme C65 5G. It comes as the first Realme phone under Rs. 15,000 price range which is 5G ready. But is that the only highlight of this new affordable Realme handset? Giznext got a chance to test the Realme C65’s performance with both basic as well extensive tasks. How did it perform? Read on the pros and the cons here:
Realme has introduced the C65 as the first 5G-ready handset in the C series. This budget Android phone employs the Dimensity 6300 mid-tier 5G chipset for all operations. MediaTek has used the thin 6nm fabrication for this chipset. Performance has been one of the primary concerns with low-end Android smartphones. However, that hasn’t been the case with the C65.
With its 8GB physical RAM which is combined with up to 8GB of Dynamic RAM, the C65 efficiently takes on extensive multitasking. This means you’ll notice least lags and drops while multitasking and even gaming. We were able to switch between different apps that already were running in the background smoothly. With the added AI engine, expect a performance boost overall.
Benchmark test results of the Realme C65 have been surprisingly good. In the 3D benchmark’s Wildlife Life Stress Test, the handset logged a ‘Best loop score’ of 1,388 points with the stability percentage being 99.4 percent. And in the Antutu benchmark test, it has achieved over 400k score. Besides the general app usage, we had a decent gaming experience with this handset. You can easily install and run graphic-hungry games. The settings and graphics tuned to moderate will definitely provide a smooth and premium gameplay experience.
Realme C65 has been launched with multiple RAM and storage options. The base model has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and is the cheapest variant. Then comes the 4GB RAM and 128GB variant and the 6GB RAM+ 128GB model. Both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants are capable of handling multitasking effectively. Thanks to the Dynamic RAM feature which enhances the overall multitasking capabilities.
And the onboard storage space of up 128GB is sufficient for files and documents storage allowing easy access while on-the-go. For additional storage requirements, this phone also has an external microSD card compatibility. The C65 5G features a 3-way SIM slot. This will allow you to use dual nano SIM cards and a microSD card simultaneously.
The Realme C65’s round camera island at the rear is headlined by the 50MP primary lens. It is the Samsung JN1 sensor which has an f/1.8 aperture and an 80° FoV. This main sensor is accompanied by a 2MP lens which captures the depth effects. Now, camera performance generally is average with the entry-level smartphones. But the big primary sensor on the Realme C65 allows comparatively better output overall. The image clarity is to the point. Specifically, the shots captured in broad daylight or well lit areas are all appealing with low background noises. The dynamic range as well as the edge detection is also fairly well captured

The primary camera captures appealing images in daylight with decent dynamic range and a respectable amount of details. The colours appear slightly boosted, and in very bright surroundings, the camera can sometimes overexpose images, which flushes out the shadows.

The portrait mode on the device works well and the resulting images have good skin colour reproduction and a nice bokeh effect. In low light, the details are muted, with inconsistent edge detection, and it could take a few tries to get decent results. Low-light shots also have an observable amount of noise and bloom around light sources. Low light photos are decent; specifically when captured using the dedicated night mode from the camera app.
Selfie snapper used by the Realme C65 5G is an 8MP OmniVision OV08D10 lens which has an f/2.0 aperture. You will find the self-portraits captured with this selfie camera apt for social media platforms. The output looks natural overall. The selfie camera’s quality during video calls is also good with no complaints as such.
The Realme C65 5G borrows its design queues from the recently launch P1 and the Realme 12+ series. The lightweight feather-inspired design does look appealing when combined with the big round all-black camera island. With a thickness of 7.98 mm and 190 grams weight, the C65 5G offers a good grip when held and feels quite light.
The back panel isn’t entirely smudge proof, but Realme has got it covered and ships a soft TPU case that adds protection from fingerprints, scratches, and even drops to some extend. The power and the volume buttons have the usual right-panel placement. The power key now offers a range of functionalities besides simple power off/on. At the bottom, you’ll find the SIM card tray and the USB charging slot which again is a standard positioning as majority of the budget Android devices.
Vibrant Screen But Standard HD+ Resolution Support
The Realme C65 5G employs a large display panel. The 6.67-inch screen size fits well for video playback. However, the panel only gets an HD+ resolution support of 720 x 1604 pixels. This low refresh rate might be a bummer for a certain group of consumers. But thankfully, the dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz enabling a smooth visual experience as well touch response save the day here. The output overall is clear and vibrant. Brightness levels of 650 nits offers a decent outdoor visibility. You might feel some difficulty reading the content under direct harsh sunlight but that’s not a frequent issue; hence, can be overlooked.
The Realme C65 5G backed with the beefy 5,000 mAh battery has ample power to run throughout a day with almost zero re-plugs. However, it only has 15W fast charging support with which the refuel from 0- 100 percent take slightly over an hour. The slower charging speeds is the amongst those cons which could have been eliminated.
The Realme C65 5G is a versatile budget phone in our opinion. This handset offers a reliable performance with a variety of tasks. The presence of 5G network support is indeed the top highlight when we consider the budget range. But overall, this phone gets our recommendation for being a performance-oriented unit which also offers a decent camera, battery and display hardware.

Safety and security concerns to be met with E2W with new crash tests
India is undeniably one of the largest E2W markets which is shaping up rapidly. The market has given opportunity to both giant players as well as startups and a major chunk is dominated by affordable e-scooters and e-motorcycles. While EVs are gradually become a popular mobility solution for urban commutes, there have been concerns related to safety. The primary security concerns with E2Ws are the fire accidents where multiple reports have surfaced in the last few years. Until now, there were no dedicated safety and crash tests being performed on the electric two wheelers. But for the first time ARAI has come to rescue and did multiple crash tests on two wheelers analyzing the overall safety standards.
ARAI has recently performed a series of crash tests on electric scooters for riders safety. The research and development body conducted as many as three different tests on electric scooters at its testing facility which is located at Pune, Maharashtra. As mentioned above, it is for the first time any authorized regulatory has conducted any kind of crash test on E2Ws.
Until now, none of such tests have been performed on electric scooters or motorcycles which can give us an overview of the safety standards. Not just in India, there isn’t any dedicated organization which currently handles safety testings for the electric scooters.
ARAI has performed three crash tests on electric scooters for one of the popular OEMs. However, the name of the e-scooter models have not been revealed by ARAI despite receiving queries from users under the RTI act. For the series of tests, ARAI installed high-speed cameras for the crash tests and just like the E2W brands and models name, the tests are also kept a mystery.
But reports does indicate a crash test was performed where the e-scooter was made to go through an hard impact from the side profile. Nevertheless, it can’t be said if ARAI will officially set new safety standards based on the crash tests for E2Ws in India. We will have to wait for the details to emerge.

The top headlines were grabbed by brands like Ola, TVS, Revolt, and others in the electric two wheeler market, while Tata, Mahindra, MG, and others ruled the electric four wheeler segment this week. Here’s a weekly wrap up of the top headlines from the EV industry:

Xiaomi SU7 arrived as one of the most promising sports electric car with its deliveries starting only a month ago. But the first EV from the Chinese OEM grabbed the headlines recently for an unrepairable breakdown issue experienced by its new owner. As per the recent reports and social media posts, a Xiaomi owner claimed his ‘just delivered’ SU7 EV broke down after traveling only 39 kms from the showroom. The broken EV unit had to be towed back to the service station where a faulty software bug was said to be the prime reason for the car’s breakdown. Xiaomi did acknowledge the matter and had also fixed the issue for the customer. Nevertheless, this incident raised reliability concerns amongst the potential buyers.
The Cloud EV is apparently the next all-electric offering from MG Motors in India. Recently, MG Motors got the Cloud EV trademark patented for the Indian market which confirms the brand’s plan to introduce this mid-size EV soon. Another report indicated the MG Cloud EV will come with sub Rs. 20 lakh price range in India and will possibly be even cheaper than the MG ZS EV.

USB port, anti theft alarm, reverse park assist, and cruise mode
Price
Rs. 84,555 (ex showroom)
This is the top-end variant that has been introduced by GT Force. The Drive Pro has the same range of features and modes including Cruise as the One Plus Pro.
While the hardware including the motor and battery remains same as the One Plus Pro, the different design approach is said to be the primary factor for its increased prices (Rs. 84,555).
