MG Comet EV India Price Revised In April 2024

MG Motors has once again revised the prices for its popular small EV, i.e., the Comet by Rs. 10,000. But this time, the Comet EV has got expensive. The increased prices are effective on all the variants. However, the base Executive trim doesn’t get any price revision and still has Rs. 6.99 lakh costing (ex showroom).

The Comet EV Excite variant’s pricing for the month of April 2024 is revised at Rs. 7.98 lakh (ex showroom), while the Excite FC and the Exclusive FC trims will be up for grabs at Rs. 8.33 lakh (ex showroom) and Rs. 9.23 lakh (ex showroom). The Exclusive trim price stands at Rs. 8.88 lakh (ex showroom).

MG Comet EV Quick Powertrain And Features Recap

MG Comet EV is India’s smallest and the cheapest electric car at the moment offering a whole range of smart tech features. This compact electric car integrates a single PMSM electric motor propelling it with a 42 bhp power. It produces a peak torque of 110 Nm and uses a 17.3 kWh IP67 certified battery. The Comet EV makes a run of up to 230 km with a full battery charge cycle with the battery pack taking up to 7 hours for a full charge.

BMW has added yet another luxury four wheeler EV to its collection in India. After launching the iX xDrive50 e-SUV is taking up pre-orders for a new electric sedan — the i5 M60 EV. Being imported as a CBU unit in the country, the latest BMW electric sedan’s registration are open via both dealerships and the official online stores.

BMW i5 M60 EV Top Highlights: Powertrain, Features

BMW i5 M60 electric sedan is already available in the international markets. The CBU unit being imported in the Indian market could be the top-spec variant (M60 xDrive). This model has dual motor system mounted on each axle propelling the electric sedan with 601 hp peak power and 820 Nm peak torque.

Battery pack integrated in the BMW i5 M60 xDrive model is an 81.2 kWh battery pack. It is a li-ion battery module which will offer 516 km range per charge (WLTP certified). The electric sedan will come with 11 kW AC charger (standard) along with an optional 22kW charger and will also support 205 kW fast DC charging.

With the fast charger, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive model can get charged from 10- 80 percent within 30 minutes. The premium electric sedan makes a 0-100 kmph sprint within 3.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of up to 209 kmph.

BMW i5 M60 India Price Details

BMW i5 M60’s pricing details are not out yet and only the pre-bookings have commenced at this moment. However, the price for this luxury electric SUV is likely to hover somewhere closer to Rs. 1 crore mark. Exact pricing and availability will be confirmed soon considering the pre-bookings have already commenced in the country.

Modern day hectic traffic conditions significantly boosted the E2W sales across Indian Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. Customers routed to this cost-efficient and eco-friendly mobility solution for daily commutes. But technology has always been both boon and bane. A recent incidence from Noida, where an Ather customer shared his disappointment of getting late to work due to a rather unusual reason; an app update has come to light. Here’s what happened and what Ather says on the matter?

Ather E-Scooter Update Gets Noida Man Late To Work

The user ‘Pratik Rai’, a Noida resident shared an rather rare experience that got him late to work. In a short video, the user can be seen explaining how an app update moments before leaving for the office created a commute hassle. Rai stated ‘It’s such a new problem. My Ather started updating when I turned it on in the morning. I couldn’t move or go office.” He further added “It’s like- I am late to office because my scooter was updating!”

While there are ‘N’ number of reasons why employees get late to work. This experience is definitely creating up a new fear amongst the electric two wheeler owners. This can be a big concern if the software update initiates after the scooter is re-started at heavy traffic conditions. While app update certainly enhances the ride experience, such incidents are a reminder of the troubles we can come across in daily life scenarios.

Ather’s Response On This Incident

Ather has acknowledged the customers concern and has also taken a note of the incident. In a response, Ather said, “Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re always here to help!” It remains to be seen how exactly Ather will address this concern. But it’s good to see that the company isn’t overlooking the bad experience highlighted by its customer.

Hyundai is apparently completing the final test runs for its upcoming electric SUV — the Creta EV. After introducing the facelift and the Creta N line variants, Hyundai will be electrifying its popular mid-range SUV and compete with Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and MG Motors who have already ventured in the mid-size SUV segement with the Nexon.ev, XUV 400 electric, and the ZS EV respectively. Test mule sightings of the Creta EV continues and after it being snapped at a charging dock, the fresh visuals of it running through Indian roads have surfaced again.

Hyundai Creta EV Test Mule Snapshots Leak Again

Hyundai Creta EV test mule has been snapped once again sprinting through the city roads. This time too, the test mule is wrapped significantly with the camouflage wrapping, but we could get glimpse of the head and tail lamps along with the alloy wheel design.

Hyundai Creta EV Exterior And Interior Design

Hyundai Creta EV’s design attributes have been borrowed from the ICE version. But the test mule snapped recently and earlier reflects the EV-centered aerodynamic approach opted for the Creta EV. This SUV sits on 17-inch wheels where the alloys are aero-inspired too.

The grille is also wrapped with the camouflage wrapping hence it is difficult to note any new design upgrade here. That said, the facia of the Creta EV will include a tweaked LED DRL design combined. It will also sport an LED sequential turn indicators as the ICE version and will flaunt a connected LED light bar at the rear.

Moving on to the Creta EV’s expected internal design, the cabin is said to come equipped with a multi-screen layout on the dashboard integrated with connected tech system. The cabin could come with dual-tone scheme for the premium feel. We might also see a big panoramic sunroof. The Creta EV’s cabin is further said to offer dual zone climate control, ventilated seats in the front row, and electronically adjustable driver seat.

Chinese car maker Bajoun unveiled a new 5-door electric SUV earlier this year in its home country China. Called the Bajoun Yep Plus, the new electric SUV is rumored to be heading to the Indian markets carrying an MG badging. In the latest developments, Bajoun has shared new set of Yep Plus images detailing more design and feature insights. Is this a confirmation for an upcoming launch? Let’s find out below:

Bajoun Yep Plus New Image Batch Released

The latest image batch of the Bajoun Yep Plus highlights the modern and practical design. This electric SUV highlights a boxy yet compact design despite being a 5-door model. With its practical design approach, the Bajoun Yep Plus is expected to be an ideal ride solution for both city as well off road tracks.

With the new set of images, the Bajoun Yep Plus’s agrresive front styling is highlighted. It is one of those few e-SUVs to flaunt a uniquely-style LED headlamp which includes as many as 184 LED beads. This setup allows high visibility by extending the low beam angle to 45° and high beam throw to up to 178 meters.

If we speak of its overall dimensions, the Bajoun Yep Plus measures 3,996 x 1,760 mm x 1,726 mm (length x breadth x height) and offers 150 mm ground clearance. The latest set of Yep Plus images also highlights the rugged profile with the thick body cladding along with a sturdy bumper design.

Bajoun Yep Plus Powertrain Details

The MG Comet EV-based 5-door SUV is introduced with a RWD (rear wheel drive) option with the electric motor mounted on its rear axle. The 75 kW electric motor gets linked to LFP battery pack whose capacity is not revealed at this point. However, rumors indicate the range delivery offered by the Bajoun Yep Plus could be over 400 km on a single charge.

AMO Mobility has launched a new electric scooter for Tier 2 and Tier 3 consumer base in India. The Noida-based E2W manufacturer has now added the Jaunty i Pro e-scooter to its portfolio which comes as a high-speed model under Rs. 1.20 lakh price range. AMO Mobility Jaunty i Pro: Powertrain Details

The AMO Mobility Jaunty i Pro flaunts a standard E2W design which is lightweight for easy maneuverability. It is touted to be a high-speed electric scooter featuring a BLDC hub electric motor. The Jaunty i Pro e-scooter can produce 2.95 kW peak power and a peak torque of 143 Nm.

The hub motor pack on the Jaunty i Pro is paired up with a 2.52 kWh battery pack. This battery module gets a Smart Battery Management system and also is compatible with a fast charger. The range delivery achieved by the Jaunty i Pro electric scooter is up to 120 km on a full battery charge.

The battery pack has fast charging compatibility with which it will take around 3.5 hours for a full charge. The Jaunty i Pro electric scooter is offers practicality with decent floorboard space and 151 kg load carrying capacity. Top speed which this new e-scooter offers is up to 60 kmph. Also, riders can select from three different riding modes including Economic, City, and Power modes.

Jaunty i Pro Electric Scooter India Price

AMO Mobility has launched the Jaunty i Pro electric scooter at just Rs. 1.15 lakh in India. The e-scooter can be purchased in three different shades including white, blue, and grey. Ola Electric has been at the forefront in the E2W segment with its S1 e-scooter lineup. Now, the company is set to revolutionize the two wheeler electric market with industry’s first autonomous e-scooter, the Ola Solo. CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal has himself shared developments surrounding the brand’s next innovation in the electric two wheeler market.

Ola Solo Autonomous Electric Scooter Teased

Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal took to microblogging platform X to announce the brand’s first autonomous electric scooter called Solo. Sharing a note ‘Not just an April fools joke, Aggarwal confirmed the latest developments surrounding the upcoming self driving e-scooter.

In one of the previous posts, OLA India CEO share the first glimpse of the self-driving e-scooter and also revealed some of its highlights. The Solo, as per the teasers, will be a fully autonomous e-scooter which will have self-driving capabilities. Ola will also use AI technology for an adaptive traffic management for this smart scooter.

Ola Solo Self-Driving Autonomous E-Scooter Key Highlights

Ola Solo autonomous electric scooter is said to integrate a custom in-house chip called LMA09000 to enable AI capabilities. Combined with the JU-GUARD adaptive algorithm, the Ola Solo will offer an efficient self-driving experience by using adaptive learning method in traffic.

Additionally, Ola will also be equipping the Solo electric scooter with Krutrim AI tech which will enable up to 22 different language support. Ola will also be keeping the safety aspects a prioriry with the Solo autonomous electric scooter and is said to use a facial recognition biometrics. The Ola Solo will be utilizing an advanced 3D mapping technology for the self driving option.

Reality or A Concept?

Ola Solo is still in the concept phase. While the company’s CEO has confirmed working on this tech, it is yet to be clear if the brand will integrate these technologies with its upcoming scooter range or will launch Solo as a standalone product.

New Ultraviolette F77 E-Motorcycle Launching Soon?

Ultraviolette is sending out media invites for an event which is scheduled for April 24, 2024 in India. The two-wheeler EV manufacturer has shared a cryptic note reading ‘Flight Mode’ keeping the details under the wraps for the upcoming product. But this isn’t keeping the rumor mill from guessing what Ultraviolette could have in store for its consumers.

It is being speculated that Ultraviolette is planning to introduce a new special edition of the F77 e-motorcycle. Rumors are also rife that Ultraviolette could release a new OTA update for the F77 on the aforementioned date. With the latest OTA update, the F77 will get a host of a new features. We expect some teasers hinting what exactly the brand is planning in the coming weeks.

Probablities of Ultraviolette F99 India Launch?

Ultraviolette’s next global offering is F99 e-motorcycle which the brand had unveiled recently. Words doing round that the Ultraviolette F99 concept could also be showcased in the country during the April 2024 event. Its availability remains uncertain though. That said, unless Ultraviolette itself teases F99’s arrival, we should take this information as a grain of salt.

To recap, the Ultraviolette F99 is also a high-performance electric motorcycle with an impressive spec-sheet. The F99 official website listing is live revealing a 90 kW peak power and 265 kmph top speed. This high-speed e-motorcycle weighs 178 kg and can make a sprint from 0- 100 kmph in just 3 seconds.

Maruti Suzuki is apparently completing the final test run phase for its first electric SUV — the eVX. After showcasing its concept, Maruti has been seen testing the eVX e-SUV’s production ready test mule on the Indian roads. Once again, the eVX sightings have been reported. This time from the Delhi NCR region.

Maruti Suzuki eVX Test Mule Snapshots/ Spy Video Leak

Publication 91Wheels have captured the latest snapshots of the Maruti Suzuki eVX being tested in Delhi NCR. Despite wrapped with black camouflage, the eVX can be seen sporting a bold SUV stance which gives a familiar attire to an ICE-SUV.

The eVX’s prototype spotted further reflects the chiseled body frame complemented by dual projector headlamps up front along with an halogen and LED lamp. It is being suggested that this headlamp setup is only for the test mule and the actual production ready model could come with a full LED headlamp module. the charging port placement is seen on the left edge of the front bumper.

Moving forward with the design cues, the eVX is seen sporting a coupe-style curved roofline with an LED stoplight-integrated roofline. At the rear, the curvy stance continues which is highlighted by wrap-around LED boot light bar and LED tail lamps. The test mule riding on 17-inch alloy wheels will offer decent ground clearance and aid with ride comfort overall.

Maruti Suzuki eVX is expected to be a feature rich EV likely loaded with a 360-degree parking camera system. The camera sensors are visible on the front grille as well as the ORVMs. This could be the first Maruti four wheeler to come with ADAS security feature.

Maruti Suzuki eVX Powertrain, Performance Metrics

Maruti is keeping the eVX’s powertrain and performance metrics a mystery and has only teased the design concept until now. But if we belive the words doing rounds online, Maruti could use a single electric motor linked to a 60 kWh battery. The battery pack is expected to be a Li-ion unit with a range delivery of around 400 km. But these are the details based on speculations and we might see variations in the performance-sheet.
