BSNL Might Launch 4G Services Around Independence Day: Check Details Here

(Last Updated On: March 3, 2022)

Even though private telecom players are conducting 5G trials in India, BSNL is trying its best to start 4G services before the end of this year. The state-run telecom operator has not announced anything on the same front, but several reports claim that BSNL’s 4G services will launch 4G services on Independence Day 2022.

BSNL And TCS Partnership For 4G Services

It is worth noting that the state-run telecom operator is joining hands with TCS to launch or to start its 4G services in the country. “BSNL will introduce 4G services with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as its technology partner. It will be for the first time that Indian technology will be used for 4G services,” Sushil Kumar Mishra, consumer mobility director at BSNL was quoted by TOI.

He said that initially, services will be available in Delhi and Mumbai. In addition, he informed that the telecom operator is going to set up 1,00,00 towers in the country. “Instead of smart towers, BSNL will begin with monopoles, which are less expensive and more effective,” he added will install 40,000 telecom towers in Bihar.

However, it is worth noting that this is not the first time when reports regarding BSNL services are surfacing online as ET has also reported earlier the same. The report also hinted at the same and said that the company will launch 4G services in August this year.

This is not the first time we heard that the company is launching its 4G services and this comes at that time when 5G trials are going on and Vodafone-Idea, Airtel, and Reliance Jio are expected to launch services soon.

The state-run telecom operator is expected to provide 4G services this year; however, the services might be outdated as other private telecom operators providing the same services for so many years.
