Tata Sierra EV India Launch Time

Tata Sierra is going to be the sixth electric four wheeler joining Tata’s EV fleet. The launch of this e-SUV is being tipped soon after the concept was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. Previous speculations indicated its launch to take place in the FY2026. However, Tata has now revealed an early timeline for the Sierra EV’s launch in India.

The Sierra electric SUV will be making its debut in 2025 in India. The final production-ready unit is expected to be unveiled during the 2025 Bharat Global Mobility Expo which is just a few months away. As per the online reports, Tata will be initially launching the electric variant of the Sierra and will also introduce the ICE model the same year (2025).

The reports further indicate that the Sierra electric will not just debut but will also go on sale by 2025. The timeline anticipated for this is the Q3 2023. We can expect Tata to launch the Sierra EV sometime around the festive season (the same approach as the Curvv EV). Just to recap, Tata Harrier EV is also rumored to finally be officially announced in 2025 in India. Whether its the Harrier EV or the Sierra EV making an early debut is something we are waiting to see.

Tata Sierra EV: What All To Expect?

The Sierra EV will be another future-ready SUV from Tata featuring an all-electric drivetrain. The company is expected to launch the Sierra EV with multiple battery pack options allowing over 500 km range on a full charge.

The Komaki MG Pro electric scooter has been introduced as the part of brand’s “Har Ghar Komaki” initiative. This electric scooter features a conventional two-wheeler scooter design with the focus being on the comfort and practicality. The e e-scooter seems to be a comfortable ride solution besides being a eco-friendly model for daily city commutes.

Coming to its powertrain, the Komaki MG Pro electric scooter is packed with a BLDC hub motor which is further linked with two different battery pack options. This e-scooter will be available to choose from a 2.2 kWh or a 2.7 kWh battery option.

The battery type integrated inside this new budget-friendly Komaki electric scooter is LifePO4 which allows up a maximum range of up to 150 km on a full charge. The extended riding range makes it an optimum ride solution for families.

Another cool feature offered by the Komaki MG Pro electric scooter is the auto repair, with which the minor issues and challenges with this e-scooter will be handled conveniently.

River Indie Electric Scooter New Variant: What’s Updated?

The latest variant of the River Indie electric scooter is launched with an updated drive system. This e-scooter went official almost a year ago in the Indian market featuring a belt drive system which is used by most of the budget-segment e-scooters. However, now, the company has finally updated this e-scooter with a chain-drive system. This new setup is expected to be more reliable than the previous model.

Only the chain-drive setup has been added to the River Indie as an upgrade. The remaining powertrain still remains the same. The e-scooter still reliers on the same electric motor which churns out a power output of 8.9 bhp and a peak torque of 26 Nm.

Battery setup is also not changed and the e-scooter continues to make use of the same 4 kWh battery which is capable of producing 161 km range on a full charge. The River Indie will get its battery charged from 0- 80 percent within 5 hours using the 750W charger. The brand has clarified that this e-scooter also comes with fast charging support. The new variant of the Indie electric scooter has a top speed of 90 kmph which also remains unchanged.

Updated River Indie Electric Scooter Prices

The updated River Indie electric scooter with chain drive system gets a higher price tag than the belt drive unit. This model has received around Rs. 17,000 price hike and can be purchased at Rs. 1.42 lakh (ex showroom) in the Indian market. As previously mentioned, two new color options have also been added.

Honda QC1 E-Scooter: How Different It Looks Than Activa e?

The Honda QC1 electric scooter isn’t much different from the Activa e in terms of the design. Both models seems to be using the same design platform. The front apron, flat floor board, and grab rail at the rear remains intact on the QC1. But unlike the Activa e which gets LED DRLs, the QC1 comes void of it. The digital instrument cluster is slightly smaller here at 5-inch.

Honda QC1 Powertrain

The QC1’s powertrain is different than that of the Activa e. The major difference is the battery pack where it uses a fixed battery pack. Just for reference, the Activa e has dual swappable batteries. The QC1 uses a 1.5 kWh battery pack which is linked with a 1.2 kWh PMSM electric motor. Power generated by the QC1 is 1.8 kW and a peal torque of 77 Nm.

The QC1 only gets Econ and Standard riding modes and will offer only 80 km range on a full charge. the QC1 will take 4 hours and 30 minutes for 0- 80 percent re-charge and 6 hours 50 minutes for a 100 percent charge.

The first electric scooter from the company is based on the iconic Activa ICE blending modern and classic aesthetics combined with all-electric powertrain. Honda has launched the Activa e in two variants both packed with a swappable battery module offering a range of up to 102 km.

Honda Activa e E-Scooter Design And Feature Highlights

Th Honda Activa e brings along a familiar yet new design approach. Based on the Activa ICE’s design, the subtle tweaks such as the inclusion of an all-LED headlamp and tail setup combined with smiling DRLs. The floorboard design is flat, a grabrail at the rear, and 12-inch diamond cut alloy wheels adds to the design highlights.

The Activa e has a 7-inch digital intrument cluster for navigation and other . The TFT panel will get real-time connectivity with Honda RoadSync Duo app. The electric variant of the Activa be compatible with Honda H-Smart key that will allow additional set of features including Smart Find, Smart Safe, Smart Unlock, and Smart Start.

Customers will be able to swap the batteries at Honda’s BEX swapping stations for convenience. It comes with three ride modes including Eco, Standard, and Sport. The top speed of the Activa e maxes out at 80 kmph, while the accelerations speeds from 0- 60 kmph is 7.3 seconds.

Ola S1 Z E-Scooter Highlights

Ola S1 Z is launched for the daily urban commuters featuring a subtle design overall. It is equipped with dual battery pack (1.5 KWh) with which it achieves a range of 146 km per charge. This budget e-scooter mounts a 2.9 kWh hub motor and can reach a top speed of 70 kmph. It accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 4.8 seconds.

The second model in this series is the S1 Z Plus which uses the same powertrain as the standard S1Z electric scooter. However, it offers an additional payload capacity and also gets Power Pod with which the battery can double up as inverter.

Ola Gig E-Scooter Highlights

Just like the S1 Z, Ola has introudced two models in the Gig series. This e-scooter lineup is targeting daily hustlers who need short-distance commuter options. The Gig electric scooter packs a 1.5 kWh removable battery pack and can reach up to 112 km on a full charge. It’s a low-speed e-scooter reaching a maximum speed of 25 kmph.

On the other hand, the Giz Plus offers slightly better range delivery and also has higher payload capacity compared to the standard Gig. It also runs at a higher speed of 45 kmph and can cover up to 145 km on a full charge.

Ola S1 Z, Gig E-Scooter Lineup India Price, Pre-Bookings

Ola Gig e-scooter is the most affordable variant priced at just Rs. 39,999, while the Gig Plus comes with Rs. 49,999 price label. The Ola S1 Z electric scooter is launched at Rs. 59,999 and the S1 Z Plus comes with Rs. 69,999 price tag. Bookings for both Ola S1 Z and Gig series are active on the company’s official website with a token amount of Rs. 499.

Mahindra XEV 9e Exteriors

Mahindra XEV 9e is designed coupe-style with a prominently sloping roofline. It has an illuminated Infinity logo unlike the BE logo present on the BE 6e. The fascia of the XEV 9e includes vertical LED projector headlamps and LED DRLs, while the side profile gets the same flush-fit door handles.

The alloy wheels are aero-inspired and have dual-tone finish. At the rear, the XEV 9e electric SUV features connected LED tail lamp setup and have inverted U-shaped LED DRLs. The rear panel also features the illuminated Infinity logo.

Mahindra XEV 9e Interiors

Cabin design is almost similar to the BE 6e with including the dash board layout. However, the XEV 9e has an additional screen (triple screen layout). The XEV 9e’s cabin also has the same two-spoke steering wheel but gets an illuminated infinity logo instead of BE as the BE 6e.

Mahindra BE 6e: Design Highlights (Exteriors)

The Mahindra BE 6e gets a futuristic sporty design with an angular bonnet. It also flaunts sharp cuts and creases and features LED projector headlamps (horizontal placement) and C-shaped LED DRLs and connected LED light bar. Upfront, there is also an illuminated BE logo, a silver skid plate and LED fog lamps.

The BE 6e’s side profile also features modern elements such as flush-fitted door handles, and C-pillar mounted door handles on the rear door. The tail lamp of the BE 6e is also C-shaped similar to the DRLs. However, the rear profile doesn’t get connected LED lamp setup.

Mahindra BE 6e Interiors

Mahindra BE 6e’s interiors gets a minimilastic yet an upmarket feel. The cabin of the BE 6e features a 2-spoke steering wheel integrated with an illuminated BE logo. It has dual-screen setup (infotainment and driver display). The driving mode and gear dials are mounted on the centre console that extends till the centre armrest.

We already are aware of the INGLO platform that will be driving the Mahindra XEV 9e and the Be 6e. In the latest teaser, the brand has revealed the battery details. As previously revealed, the INLGLO platform will be utilizing an LFP (Lithium iron phosphate) battery pack. And both the XEV 9e and the BE 6e wiill be introduced with dual battery pack options.

The base variant of the BE 6e and the XEV 9e will be using a 59 kWh battery, while the higher-spec variant will be loaded with the bigger 79 kWh battery pack. Additionally, Mahindra has confirmed that both the new electric SUVs will be compatible with 175 kW fast DC charging allowing a battery recharge from 20- 80 percent within just 20 minutes.

Ather Eight70 Warranty: What All Are The Benefits?

The Ather Eight70 Warranty package is introduced specifically for the Rizta and 450 series electric scooter customers offering them benefits on battery servicing and replacement. This program will be giving the Rizta and 450 series electric scooter owners a minimum of 70 percent battery health assurance for up to 8 years or 80,000 km depending on the one that comes fist.

The Eight70 warranty can be purchased at Rs. 4,999. As for as the services covered in this program, there is a full coverage against manufacturing defects and failures, 70 percent battery health assurance, no claim rejection caused due to the high discharge of the battery cells (happens when e-scooter is not charged since long or is left idle for long.

What All Is Not Covered In Eight70 Warranty Package?

Ather has also confirmed the list of points when this Eight 70 Warranty will not be applicable. This will include any damage caused to the battery due to any customer negligence and any kind of modification or alteration done to the battery pack which essentially will cancel the battery warranty. Additionally, this package will not be covering any natural damage or wear or tear of the battery and parts. In case of natural calamities such as flooding, accident, fire, or theft will also not be covered in the Eight70 battery warranty package.
