iVOOMi, the electric two wheeler manufacturer is offering special festive discounts for its popular e-scooter models. The brand has announced a flat price cut of up to Rs. 10,000 on the Jeet X ZE. Whereas, the iVOOMi S1 e-scooter range can be purchased with up to Rs. 5,000 discounts during the sale.

Following the price cut, the iVOOMi Jeet X ZE’s base variant will be available for purchase at Rs. 89,999 instead of its usual Rs. 99,999 price label. On the other hand, the 3kWh batter model will be up for grabs at just Rs. 1,04,999. For refrence, this model has a retailing price of Rs. 1.09 lakh without any discounts.

For the S1 e-scooter range, benefits worth Rs. 5,000 can be availed as a part of the festive season sale. After the discounts, the iVOOMi S1 e-scooter range can be grabbed at Rs. 79,999.

Multiple Hyundai EVs Launching After Creta EV

Hyundai Motor India Limited recently confirmed its plan to introduce full-fledged electric vehicle models in the future. While the timeline is not revealed, the new models are expected to arrive only after the Creta EV in India. Just for reference, the company will be initiating its first major IPO (Initial Public Offering) to raise Rs. 28,870 where a minimum bid of 7 shares will be allowed.

In a statement, Unsoo Kim, Hyundai Motor India Managing Director said, “India is at the early stage of electrification. We are seeing that India’s EV segment is expected to grow strongly by 2030 led by government’s strong initiatives and many OEM EV focuses. Adding on he quoted, “Hyundai Motor India (HMI) has access to the Hyundai Motor Company’s (HMC) global EV and battery technologies. So, we in India are planning to launch the full EV model, of course, in the mass and premium segment including our Creta EV in this financial year.”

Hyundai is yet to announce the name of the models it has lined up after the Creta EV in India. Currently, the brand is catering to the consumers with just two EV models internationally including the Ioniq 5 and the Kona electric.

The latter isn’t available in the Indian market yet and could be one of the models that arrives soon after the Creta EV in the country. Furthermore, the company has suggested that it is aiming to target both the general as well as the premium customer base. Hyundai also plans to utilize the localized supply chain while populating its EV fleet in India.

Kia EV4 Interiors Snapped First Time

Kia EV4 has been known to be under development since a while now, however, the spy shots of its interiors have surfaced for the first time online. The upcoming crossover-style e-SUV will get a coupe-style roofline and an ultra premium design. But the interiors speaks volumes when we speak of the overall futuristic approach it takes.

The EV4’s leaked interiors spy shots reveals a big dual 12.3-inch infotainment and driver display and a 5.3-inch climate control screen sandwiched in between. Right below the floating wide touchscreen panel. there are additional touch-enabled control keys.

The dashboard features round dials for volume adjustments and have AC vents on both sides. The use of least physical control keys gives the cabin a classier finish. Ola Electric Scooter Catches Fire In Kerala: What Really Happened?

As per a post shared by a user on microblogging platform X, fumes and smoke started emerging from an Ola e-scooter which went up in flames as the riders got down. The post notes, “An OLA scooter caught on fire at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Not a good look at not a good time. Two students were going to college when it started to smoke & they got off. The scooter proceeds to catch fire and was totalled. Fire force came & extinguished the flames.”

Ola’s Response?

It couldn’t be figured out with the post as to which Ola e-scooter model specifically has been associated with the fire accident this time. Also, the exact reason why the e-scooter suddenly went ablaze is unknown. Thankfully, no major injuries were sustained during this accident. Nevertheless, considering its an Ola-labelled e-scooter raises more concern related to customer safety.

Ola is already in trouble with frequent customer complaints and the recent show-cause notice issued by the CCPA. Ola is asked to acknowledge and share a reply on the same within 15 days. Ola in a bid to improve its post sale service and repair experience recently launched HyperService plans. But seems like it needs better plans to resolve the ongoing issues.

As per the reports, Tata Motors is trying to follow the leads of MG Motors to take on the heated competition in the EV market. The automobile manufacturer is expected to introduce its popular EV fleet with battery rental services that will eventually cut down the asking price significantly. In addition to the Nexon EV, Tata is expected to extend the battery rental services for the remaining EV models including the most recent Curvv EV followed by the Punch EV, Tiago EV, and the Tigor EV.

Tata EVs BaaS Services Expected Costs

To recap, the existing Tata electric fleet is currently available with a starting price range of Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs. 17.49 lakh (ex showroom). This includes the starting price range of the Tiago and the Curv EV with the Punch, Tigor, and the Tiago EV sitting in between.

Even if Tata comes up with the battery rental program for its EVs, it would be difficult to guess the additional costs that a customer will have to pay for the battery. Nevertheless, MG Motors is charging an amount of Rs. 3.5 km per kilometers for the battery rent. We can expect Tata to follow a strategic pricing to beat the competition effectively.

Mahindra XUV.e8/ XUV700 EV New Spy Shots Surface Online

Following the BE.05, the XUV700 electric or the XUV.e8 has been captured while being tested in Ladakh. It appears Mahindra is rigorously testing its upcoming EV fleet through extreme conditions and rough terrains to offer a reliable ride experience.

The new test mule images shows the heavily wrapped unit flaunting an updated facia with a blanked-off grille and a new bumper design. The fascia is refreshed overall when compared to the ICE variant of the XUV 700. The alloy wheels also seems aerodynamically enhanced and the side panel have been seen donning flush-fit door handles.

The spy shots of the XUV700 reveals the charging port’s placement on the left side panel similar to the fuel lid’s positioning on the ICE model. While the front has been reworked, the rear profile of the upcoming XUV.e8/ XUV 700 electric hints minimal design alterations. But the final tweaks and modifications might be revealed before launch via teasers.

Ola Electric Show-cause Notice From CCPA

Ola Electric has been issued the show-cause notice dated October 3, 2024 for violating multiple provisions that fall under the Consumer Protection Act 2019. As we all know, numerous customers have taken it to social media platforms tagging Ola Electric to narrate their ordeal with the e-scooter deliveries and after-sales services and repairs.

As per CCPA, it has received over 9,000 complaints from the consumers within a span of just one year. The show-cause notice covers the major grievances from the customers owning an Ola e-scooter ranging from continuous breakdowns, delayed deliveries, poor after sales repair services, and even misleading advertisements of its products.

If we speak of the actual numbers, the CCPA (Central Consumer Protection Authority) has logged around 9,948 complaints from Ola electric scooter customers. The timeframe within which these complaints have been registered on the National Consumer Helpline is from September 1, 2023 till August 30,2024.

Just for reference, this show-cause notice issued for Ola dates October 3, 2024 covers all the unfair trade practices and issues as reported by the consumers. It is worth noting that Ola has been asked to revert to the show-cause notice within 15 days.

Ola’s Response On The Show-Cause Notice

Ola Electric has reportedly given an acknowledgement to the show-cause notice issued by the CCPA. The E2W is said to be giving assurance to resolve and address all the customer complaints. Furthermore, Ola electric will be sharing the response on the show-cause notice within the 15-days time frame along with required documentations.

Those who wish to buy this new MG EV without the battery rental service will have to pay a starting price of Rs. 13,49,800 (ex showroom).

This is the price of the Windsor EV Exite variant, whereas, the remaining two variants called Exclusive and Essence carries a price tag of Rs. 14,49,800 and Rs. 15,49,800 respectively.
