MG Comet EV BlackStorm Launched

JSW MG Motor India has added a new variant of its most compact electric car in India. The Comet EV BlackStorm Edition went official this week whose highlight is the all-black Starry Night shade along with red inserts. The Comet EV BlackStorm Edition’s interiors also gets updated with new theme combining the black and red inserts. This special Edition of the Comet EV gets the same underpinnings at the existing models including 41.4bhp RWD electric motor linked with a 17.3 kWh battery. Revolt Motors have introduced its latest electric motorcycle model in India — the RV BlazeX. The latest offering from the company comes as a affordable daily ride solution with its comfortable seating and modern features. It has a 6-inch digital LCD instrument cluster which displays real-time navigations and supports OTA (over-the-air) updates as well. Kia EV2 Concept Exterior Design Highlights

The Kia EV2 concept showcased at the EV Day event sports a bold design despite being the entry-level compact electric car. This EV wears the Kia’s ‘Opposite United’ design which is highlighted by the open lamp claw-like dual headlamp upfront.

It gets a thick plastic cladding on the front bumper and interestingly no door handles and a pillar-less profile. The EV2 concept sits on square-spoke alloy wheels giving it a futuristic appeal. The rear profile of the EV2 Concept houses low-set tail lamps that is familiar to that of the recently launched Syros.

Kia EV2 Concept Interiors

The EV2 Concept gets a modern design take and offers a combined infotainment screen and instrument cluster. The unique LED animation on the dashboard boosts the cabin appeal. There are triangular speaker fitted inside the doors which are also removable as well as portable. The seats of the Kia EV2 are bench style at the front, while at the rear it gets foldable bench-style seats that can also slide back to offer extra leg room.

Kia EV2 Battery And Range

Kia is said to borrow Hyundai’s E-GMP platform’s 400V version for the EV2. This same architecture is used to drive the Kia EV4 and the Kia EV 3 models. It is speculated to use either a 58.3 or an 81.4 kWh battery pack which will be linked with the front-axle mounted electric motor producing up to 201 hp of peak power. Range figures are yet to be clear, but we can expect over 600 km per charge range with the bigger battery pack version.

Maruti e Vitara Crash Test: BNCAP Or GNCAP?

Well, it’s none of the above. Apparently, the crash test results of the e Vitara doing rounds online are from an internal testing as indicated by the rumor mill. The e Vitara is yet to visit any external agency for safety crash tests and ratings. But certainly, the leaked images of the e Vitara’s crash tests have gone viral on the web attracting audiences attention.

The leaked images shows the e Vitara being put through a series of crash tests including the front, side, and rear collisions. As the tests are apparently conducting internally, no results have been shared officially. It will be difficult to comment yet if the e Vitara emerges out to be one of the most secure four wheelers from Maruti Suzuki achieving a 5 star safety rating.

Potentially The Most Secure Maruti Car?

The e Vitara is amongst the most fully loaded vehicle coming out from Maruti’s mill. New Toyota Coupe Electric SUV Teased

Toyota has released the teasers of its upcoming electric SUV on its social media handles. The image as well the short video shares the glimpse of what looks like a coupe-style electric SUV model. Toyota is yet to reveal the name of its fourth all-electric car but the teaser hints it to be somewhat similar to the bZ3C fastback which was showcased at the Beijing Motor Show last year. And this upcoming model is speculated to be the European variant of the model showcased in China.

In the teaser image, the upcoming Toyota e-SUVs fascia including the extended bonnet and the sloping roofline can be seen. Additionally, the all exclusive Toyota ‘hammerhead’ design is also seen up front, while the rear profile contains a lightbar.

Interestingly, the upcoming Toyota coupe-style electric SUV is said to borrow cabin design and features from the Toyota C-HR hybrid instead of the Urban Crusier EV. The latter is also making its debut this year in the Indian market. That said, the freshly teased electric SUV from Toyota is likely to integrate a big 12.3-inch touch-enabled infotainment screen. MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition: Exterior, Interior Design Highlights

MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition comes with new paint scheme which has been introduced with the other Blackstorm models. To recap, MG has also launched the Hector, Astor, and the Gloster SUV’s Blackstorm edition.

The Comet EV’s Blackstorm variant also is painted in the exclusive Starry Night shade along with hints of red across the body including the fog lamps, doors, bumpers, and also the plastic wheel covers. Even the Morris Garages badging on the Comet EV’s Blackstorm edition gets a red paint job.

Interior reworks majorly include the same new black and red inserts. The seats are now black leatherette upholstery featuring red Blackstorm badging inscribed on the headrest. The remaining interiors gets a white-beige color mix. Feature-wise, the cabin gets a large 10.25inch large infotainment display with wireless smartphone compatibility. Revolt has used a 4kW electric motor to power drive the RV BlazeX electric motorcycle. This motor pack is linked with a lithium-ion battery measuring 3.24 kWh in capacity. It’s an IP67 rated battery pack which is claimed to deliver 150 km on a single charge. Revolt Motors further claims the RV BlazeX’s battery can be charged from 0- 80 percent within 80 minutes using the rapid charger. With the standard charger, it will take 3 hours and 30 minutes for the same charging percentage.

Kinetic Green is now working on a high-speed electric scooter which is said to debut soon in the country. The suggested model under development is the FLX which will arrive as the fourth e-scooter from Kinetic in India. Just to recap, there are three other existing Kinetic electric scooter models in India including the e-Luna, E-Zulu electric and the Zing family scooter. The upcoming FLX will be the fourth variant which will be catering to premium category.

The timeline scheduled for the Kinetic FLX India launch is within next eight months. The exact date is yet to be announced. In a statement, Pankaj Sharma, President Kinetic Green two-wheeler business, quoted, “We will launch the FLX in six-eight months. It will be a ground-up Indian product and will compete in the premium commuter segment”. As hinted by the company’s executive, the Kinetic FLX could be a potentially come as a rival to the Hero Vida, Ather Rizta, and the Ola S1 e-scooters.

Battery Swapping Platform For E-Luna

Kinetic Green launched the e-Luna moped as an affordable commuter and in a strategic move have teamed up with Zomato, Swiggy, and Dominos for last mile commuting solutions. MG Cyberster EV Fastest Acceleration Record

JSW MG Motor India took the Cyberster EV in a spin at the Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan India. The two door sports electric car have logged a new record of being the fastest EV making a sprint from 0- 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds. What makes this acceleration record special is the all desert terrain of the Sambhar Lake Rajasthan which is extreme and difficult for four wheelers to get a grip on.

The Cyberster EV has become the first ever electric car to achieve this new record which also has been verified by the Asia Book of Records and India Book of records. It’s clear the MG Cyberster EV once launched will be amongst the top high-speed EVs in the domestic market.

Tata Sierra EV Spied For The First Time

Tata Sierra EV’s first set of snapshots from real-life world has emerged covered entirely in camouflage. Much like its ICE counterpart, the Sierra EV boasts a robust road presence. While it shares its design with the ICE version, the large central air intake around the lower bumper up front will be one of the key design distinctions which we can see in the snapshots.

We can also see the split headlamp design at the front despite the prototype being masked completely camouflaged. Apart from this, the connected LED light bar is also visible on the facia of the Sierra EV’s test mule. The steel wheel profile makes us believe the unit snapped is still a prototype and the final production-spec model will equip alloy wheels set. Rear profile gets a connected LED tail lamp as seen on the prototype.

Tata Sierra EV: What Else We Know?

Tata has been tight lipped about the Sierra EV and is yet to spill out the powertrain and other key details. It is being said the Sierra EV will use the same Activ.ev platform as the recent Tata electric four wheelers. Moreover, we could see the Sierra EV to debut with multiple battery pack options ranging between 60kWh – 80 kWh. It will also be loaded with advanced safety suite including ADAS and 360° surveillance camera, rear parking sensor, etc.
