Ather 450S low-end electric scooter showcased officially
Offers 90 kmph top speed and 115 km per charge range
Price starts at Rs. 1.29 lakh in India
Ather Energy has become one of the dominant brands in the two-wheeler space with its premium electric scooters. The Ather 450 electric scooter lineup from the brand is all popular among Indian consumers. Multiple reports surfaced suggesting the upcoming budget Ather 450 variant aimed at budget consumers. The company has put all the rumors to rest and showcased the low-end variant called the Ather 450S. What all trims do the entry-level Ather 450 scooter gets and how much cheaper is its cost? Read on the details below:
The Ather 450S is the new low-end model introduced by the electric two-wheeler manufacturer. This latest model will sit below the Ather 450X and the Ather 450 Plus and will have slight feature trims compared to the high-end models. The Ather 450S electric scooter will be offering an identical design language to the Ather 450X if we go by the teasers and the online reports.
Speaking of the powertrain, Ather has not yet confirmed the details. We are not sure if the Ather 450S will be powered by the same battery module as the remaining two models or will feature a smaller setup. Nevertheless, the riding range is reduced compared to the existing models. The Ather 450S as per the official teaser will deliver 115km range per charge.
This is a significant drop from 146 km per charge range which is offered by the Ather 450X. This makes us believe that the new model could feature a smaller battery pack compared to the high-end models. In addition to the riding range, the Ather 450S official teaser has also revealed the top speed.
Despite carrying a lower price tag, the top speed remains the same at 90 kmph. Ather has kept the remaining features of the Ather 450S under wraps. We are yet to get details related to its electric motor and charging time. It is also not confirmed just yet what downgrades it will have compared to the Ather 450X and the Ather 450 Plus.
The Ather 450S price in India starts at Rs. 1,29,999. The prices are including the Fame II subsidies. Notably, the Ather 450S electric scooter’s deliveries are set to commence from July 2023. However, the exact date and timeline are not revealed.

The CEO of Kinetic Green has confirmed the nameplate ‘e Luna’ for its future electric scooter in India
The renowned Indian moped brand will be brought back thanks to the Kinetic e Luna electric scooter
The Kinetic e Luna might include removable battery technology and a 50-100 km range
The renowned Kinetic Luna nameplate is returning, and this time it will be on an electric scooter. CEO Sulajja Firodia Motwani of Kinetic Green has stated that the Luna brand, which was formerly synonymous with mopeds in India, will make a comeback as a 50cc category electric scooter under the brand name ‘e Luna’. As was previously reported, Kinetic Green, the parent firm, has already begun producing the chassis and sub-assemblies as the business prepares to launch soon.
Kinetic Luna ‘e Luna’ Electric Scooter: Expected Specifications
The Kinetic Green e-Luna could reach a top speed of between 45 and 50 kmph and is unlikely to be a low-speed e-moped. To serve its intended purpose, it could have a hub motor and a torquey one at that. Although fast charging might not be an option, the Kinetic e-Luna could have a 100km range, and having interchangeable batteries would be beneficial for B2B applications.
The Luna’s pedals added to its iconic status, and we hope the e-Luna maintains this. Even though pedaling may not be the most convenient way to get where you’re going, it would spare you the trouble of pushing the e-moped if your battery runs out.
This two-wheeler can be marketed as a last-mile connectivity vehicle because it is anticipated to be priced at the lower end of the EV price range. If the e-Luna is reasonably priced, has a respectable riding range, and has a quick charging time, it might also attract a lot of clients from app delivery agents.
The Porsche-designed Yadea VF F200 electric scooter has been announced in the European market. The EV’s styling was influenced by Porsche’s sports cars, and it has headlights and taillights that are comparable to those on a car. In a number of markets, notably Europe, the electric two-wheeler market is still growing. With a few enthusiast-driven scooters scattered about, it is mostly populated by scooters with a utility-focused design.
The Yadea VF F200 has an outstanding list of specifications, and according to Yadea, it is the most potent e-scooter in the L3e class. Although it matches the power of a 125cc gas motorcycle, due to regulatory restrictions, its power is limited.
A 5.5 kW motor with a 10 kW peak output powers the VF F200, giving it a top speed of 100 kph (62 mph) and 238 Nm of torque. The moped can climb slopes up to 30° and speed from 0 to 50 kph (0 to 31 mph) in around 2.5 seconds.
Two 27 Ah lithium batteries in the VF F200 give it a range of up to 140 km (87 miles). A hydraulic shock absorber, 31L of under-seat storage, and a 7.5-in (191 mm) TFT screen with information like your speed and distance traveled are other features. The moped is made of ABS brakes and features 14-inch front and 13-inch rear tires. Its overall dimensions are 1,923 x 820 x 1,295 mm (75.7 x 32.3 x 51.0 in).
The exact release date has not yet been confirmed, but the Yadea VF F200 electric moped is anticipated to retail for around €6,000 (around Rs. 5,32,000) when it debuts in EU nations including Spain later this year. The EV will come in four colors: purple, black, grey/silver, and blue. It is unknown if the corporation will introduce the new moped in other markets, such as the US and the UK.
