Mahindra BE 6 Electric SUV Viral Crash Video: Why Reliablity Concerns Have Raised?

The latest accident video involving the newly launched Mahindra BE 6 and a Datsun hatchback have surfaced online gaining attention from thousands of social media users. The incident has been reported from Hyderabad where both Mahindra BE 6 and the Datsun hatchback rear-end collision can be seen. But what grabs all the attention is the BE 6 getting stalled right after the accident.

This despite the Datsun hatchback retaining more body damage than the BE 6 raises reliability concerns amongst the masses. While the Mahindra electric SUV didn’t suffer damage and shows how high safety standard it offers, the stalling did lead to a debate highlighting the reliability factor with sensor-loaded electric vehicles. Getting stalled after a minor accident is something no customer would wish to happen with the rides.

Mahindra’s Response

Soon after the accident, police arrived at the location and both drivers were then asked to report at the nearby police station. The Datsun hatchback successfully drove off, while the BE 6 got stalled and a technician from Mahindra was called on the spot for a quick resolution and to assess if any faulty sensor has caused the car to stall. The BE 6 was then taken to the Mahindra service centre.

Mahindra officials took to their official Instagram handle to address the issue. The brand acknowldged the issue and has released a statement, “We categorically state that these claims are baseless and incorrect. The vehicle’s stoppage was not related to any sensor failure as being claimed in the video. Following the collision, the car was immediately moved to the side of the road, clearly demonstrating its functionality. Given that there was a collision, the vehicle was appropriately transported to the dealership for inspection.”
