After venturing into the country with its first made-in-India motorcycle, Aprilia RS 457, Piaggio is now setting up its eyes on the EV segment too. The company will be embarking on the EV venture in the domestic markets with a new electric scooter whose developments have been revealed by company’s Chairman.

Vespa Electric Scooter India Launch: Model Expected
Vespa’s first electric scooter is getting ready to hit the production day as revealed by Piaggio Group’s Chairman & MD, Diego Graffi. The Italian motor group has started with the developments and is expected to launch an entirely new electric scooter model in the domestic market.
The upcoming electric scooter while being introduced under Vespa labelling is said to be different than the outgoing Vespa Elettirca model which is available for purchase in the international markets. The name of the upcoming Vespa electric scooter is yet to be announced.
However, it is said to be manufactured in the country itself. Vespa will be sourcing components locally to manufacture its first India-bound electric scooter model. The brand is said to be currently waiting for the subsidies to be removed only then it plans to bring the e-scooter to the Indian shores.

Upcoming Vespa Electric Scooter: Affordable Or Expensive?
There are sleek chances that Vespa launches its first electric scooter with an affordable price tag. Rather it could be a premium model whose price range could exceed over 2 lakhs as per the rumors. But unless there is some announcements from the brand, we can’t be sure if it indeed will be a flagship e-scooter model or Vespa will rather take a dig at the highly competitive affordable segment.
