BYD Sealion 7 India Launch Date

BYD India will be launching the Sealion 7 next week in the country. The Chinese EV maker has scheduled the launch of its coupe-style electric SUV on February 17, 2025. Pre-bookings for the Sealion 7 has already started in the country where the company is taking Rs. 70,000 as a token amount. BYD has announced free 7 KW standard charger on the purchase of the Sealion 7 along with an additional battery warranty that will be covering 7 years or 1,50,000 km whichever comes earlier.

BYD Sealion 7 Powertrain: Expected

The BYD Sealion 7 is an internationally available model. Just like the global markets, the Sealion 7 is expected to be launched in dual trims in the country called Premium and Performance. The Premium variant will be a single motor FWD unit with 373 hp of peak power and 380 Nm of peak torque. The Sealion 7’s Performance trim is backed by a dual motor AWD setup with the peak power range beung 530 hp while the torque being 690 Nm. Both models will be using the same 82.56 kWh battery offering up to 567 km range per charge,

Skoda EV India Launch 2025

Skoda India was expected to launch the Enyaq iV in India. However, due to uncited reasons its arrival got delayed. But now, the brand is set to launch its first EV which will be an electric SUV this year itself in India (September 2025). Skoda India Brand Director, Petr Janeba, revealed this development in an interview. He said, “Our first electric SUV is coming by September latest.”

Expected Model

Sadly, the exact model name is not yet revealed by the company. If the brand sticks to the original plan of launching the Enyaq iV EV or some other model remains to be seen. Skoda India’s first electric four wheeler will be build on the Modular Electric Platform (MEB) as most of the outgoing models.

There are rumors indicating a compact EV model incoming. But we will likely get the confirmation in the coming months. Nevertheless, it seems that Skoda will be starting its EV venture with an entry-level model targeting the budget conscious Indian consumers.

The BYD Sealion 7 electric SUV’s India launch is expected soon. This development is hinted by the reports of the e-SUV reaching authorized dealerships across the Indian cities. Currently, there is no exact date or month announced officially.

However, with the e-SUV reaching the dealerships it shouldn’t be far away from official debut in the domestic market. The BYD Sealion 7 electric SUV might be launched within the price rangestarting at around Rs. 50 lakh (ex showroom). The BYD Sealion 7 electric SUV will be catering to urban consumers seeking style and performance combo in one package. It has a bold fascia and features aerodynamic-inspired alloy wheels and contours. The electric SUV is expected to be launched with a powerful electric motor which will produce up to 23,000 RPM.

The Sealion 7 is expected to come with an AWD dual motor setup and will use a blade battery module. The coupe-style electric SUV will get Seal-inspired LED headlamps, sloping roofline, connected LED DRL and tail lamp module, and flush-fit door handles.

Ola S1 Gen 3 Electric Scooter: Why The Price Hike?

Ola Electric’s latest electric scooter lineup, the S1 Gen 3 have become expensive within a week of the launch. All the models in the new series including the S1X, S1X+, S1 Pro, and the S1 Pro+ have been revised by up to Rs. 15,000. So, if you haven’t reserved any of the S1 Gen e-scooters in the early lot, you’ll now have to pay slightly extra. Ola Roadster X Hidden Feature

Ola Electric’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, in a new post on X (formerly Twitter), have revealed a new hidden feature offered by the Roadster X electric motorcycle. The Roadster X comes with a removable seat beneath which the portable charger is integrated.

The short video shared on X shows the portable charger once removed leaves out a small boot space. This can be further used by the riders to carry around a variety of items. This is one of kind design approach being offered by any electric bike available in the Indian market. In the video, the one of the key safety features of the Roadster X is also highlighted. When a user charges the bike, the riding modes will automatically get disabled adding to the safety aspects.

Mahindra XUV 400 Electric: February 2025 Discount Details

Mahindra XUV 400 electric is the only EV model whose prices have been axed this month. The company has given a price cut majorly to the ICE models which include the Bolero, XUV 700, Thar, Scorpio, and the Marazzo. For the XUV 400 electric, Mahindra has announced a whopping Rs. 4 lakh discount.

It is worth adding that this offer is applicable only on the top two EL Pro trims of the XUV 400 electric. The combined price reduction on the upper two EL Pro models of the XUV 400 electric is definitely a hard to miss deal.

Do note, there’s a catch to this offer. Mahindra is giving discounts only on the XUV 400 electric’s MY2024 and MY2025 stocks. It’s the MY2024 stocks of the Mahindra XUV 400 electric which gets the maximum price cut of up to Rs. 4 lakh. On the other hand, the MY2025 units of the XUV400 electric are now cheaper by up to Rs. 2.5 lakh.

Volkswagen Entry-Level Electric Car Global Debut In 2026

Volkswagen has officially teased a new electric car which will be launched next year. The German auto giant will be bringing its most affordable electric car to the global markets including India. The brand will be redefining its portfolio with this most affordable E4W which has been teased online.

Unfortunately, the name of the model is not revealed yet. There have been anticipations that it could be none other than the ID2.All Concept. But there are no concrete reports confirming the same. Some sources also suggests that the ID2.All Concept is entirely different than the upcoming entry-level Volkswagen electric car. There are possibilities that this mystery model will be showcased as a concept next month, i.e., March 2025.

Entry-Level Volkswagen EV Expected Features, Powertrain

The official teaser shared by Volkswagen gives us a glimpse of the upcoming budget EV. The teaser post shows the EV flaunting a slight masculine stance combined with prominent flared wheel arches. However,, the overall design is expected to be minimalistic and cThe leaked image set also shows the EV sporting small rectangular-shaped LED headlamps along with the signature DRLs and black grille panel upfront.

The teaser also shows the slim DRLs mounted on the front bumper while the remaining area is expected to be blanked-out. It is also being suggested that the upcoming Volkswagen electric car will be more compact than the ID.2All which is also expected to go official in 2026. Tata Motors have announced up to Rs. 40,000 discounts on the Punch EV’s new MY2025 stocks. Whereas, the older MY 2024 units of the Punch EV attracts a discount of up to Rs. 70,000. That’s not it, the Smart and Smart+ variants of the Punch EV have also become affordable by up to Rs. 40,000 this month.

To recap, the Tata Punch EV is available with a price range starting at Rs. 10.99 lakh (Smart variant). There are five different trims of the Punch EV with the top model being priced at Rs. 13.29 lakh (ex showroom).

The Tiago EV which is the entry level and one of the first E4W introduced by Tata has received the maximum discount in February 2025. The electric hatchback has received a massive price cut of up to Rs. 85,000. However, this price cut is effective only on the My24 stocks of the Tiago EV. Other units don’t attract any special benefits or discounts. For the Nexon EV, Tata Motors have announced a maximum discount of up to Rs. 40,000 during the month of February 2025. The deals are being given on the MY2024 stocks and is are irrespective of the trim and charger type. The remaining stocks of the Nexon EV haven’t received any special discount this month. The Nexo EV model comes with a starting price of Rs. 12.49 lakh (ex showroom) with its top trim priced at Rs. 16.99 lakh (ex showroom).
