One of the best family scooter models that has been launched earlier this year is the Rizta. Ather Energy’s first e-scooter model targeting the family audience with its comfortable riding facilities. The Rizta Z and the Rizta S are the two variants of this family scooter equipped with 2.9 kWh and 3.9 kWh battery pack options respectively. Hero Vida V2

Hero MotoCorp recently updated its only e-scooter lineup, the Vida with the launch of the V2 series. The successor to the popular Vida V1 lineup has emerged as a solid family e-scooter option in the Indian market. Introduced in three different variants including the Vida V2 Lite, Vida V2 Plus, and the Vida V2 Pro, the latest e-scooter lineup is also an affordable option for the family-segment consumers starting under Rs. 1 lakh. The Vida V2 series is equipped with battery capacity ranging between 2.2 kWh to 3.9 kWh and can offer a claimed range delivery of up to 165 km.

Bajaj Chetak 35 Series

This is another new e-scooter lineup which has been introduced recently in India. Bajaj Chetak 35 series is launched in three variants with all the models utilizing a new frame, motor, and controller. The Chetak 35 series comes with only subtle design updates with an increased wheelbase and also the floorboard area. A 3.5 kWh battery pack linked to a 4kW PMSM electric motor powers the Chetak 35 series. This family e-scooter is capable of reaching a maximum distance of up to 153 km per charge.

Honda Activa e

India’s favourite family scooter, the Activa has finally arrived in an electric version in India. Called the Activa e, the first e-scooter model from the company brings familiarity of ICE variant in an updated avatar. Th Activa e not only offers a greener mobility solution but is also equipped with advanced features. One of the unique aspects being offered by the Activa e electric scooter is the dual swappable battery setup. Also, the Activa e doesn’t support external charging and only the comes with the battery swapping option. With the dual 1.5 kWh battery packs, the Activa e can offer a range of up to 102 km per charge. Honda hasn’t started with the deliveries of the Activa e and is expected to make it available from next year.

Honda QC1

Honda’s second electric scooter, the QC1 is also another suitable contender in the list of best family e-scooters launched in 2024. Based on the same platform as the Activa e, the QC1 also brings along a comfortable ride experience at affordable rates. The QC1 features a fixed battery setup and has just a single 1.5 kWh battery unit as its driveforce. The Honda QC1 offers a slightly lower range than the Activa e since it packs a single battery. However, the 80 km range it is claimed to deliver meets the requirements of daily commuters.

JSW MG Motor India has just confirmed the powertrain details of the Cyberster sports electric car. The company is bringing this electric car as a CBU (Completely Built Up) unit integratd with the same powertrain as the international model.

The Cyberster EV will be equipped with a dual AWD motor setup mounted on each axle. This dual oil-cooled motor packs will help the sports EV to produce up to 510 hp of peal power and up to 725 Nm of peak torque.

MG has firther revealed the Cyberster EV will be using a 77 kWh battery pack and claiming it will deliver up to 580 km range as per CLTC cycle. However, the real world range is could vary. This sports electric car will make a sprint from 0- 100 kmph within 3.2 seconds and deliver a top speed of up to 195 kmph.

Currently, the developments only hints at the arrival of AWD variant. The company might also introduce the Cyberster EV’s RWD variant as well. But by when this model will be launched is uncertain.

New MG Electric MPV Debuting Alongside

Alongside the Cyberster EV, MG Motor India is also planning to introduce another EV model. The company is expected to launch the Mifa 9 MPV. This e-MPV will be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Details are expected to be confirmed around the same timeline.

Ola Electric has launched the new S1 Pro Sona Edition e-scooter. This limited edition electric scooter’s special highlight is the use of real 24k gold elements as a part of the design. The S1 Pro Sona Edition has been equipped with real 24K gold elements.

The gold plating has ben used on different body parts of the e-scooter. Right from the front brake levers to the rear view mirrors to footpegs, pillion grab rail, and side stand gets the 24K gold plating. This S1 Pro model has the same design as the outgoing model but only has the gold plated design elements and a new paint scheme.

Bajaj Chetak 35 Series: All Variants, Powertrain, And Features

The Bajaj Chetak 35 e-scooter series is launched in three different trims. The Base variant is Chetak 3501, while the mid and top-trims are Chetak 3502 and 3503 respectively. Bajaj has also given a subtle makeover to the Chetak 35 series electric scooter and has build it on an entirely new frame. The motor, controller, and even the battery pack has been updated on the Chetak 35 e-scooter lineup.

The latest Chetak 35 series flaunts a blacked out headlamp up front and sleek turn indicators. The LED tail lamp is also sleek when compared to the previous-gen Bajaj Chetak models. The floorboard area also has been increased substantially so is the wheelbase.

The Chetak 35 series comes equipped with a new 3.5 kWh battery pack integrated in the floorboard area. It is linked to 4kW PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motor) motor pack which helps with achieving a top speed of up to 73 kmph. This new Chetak e-scooter lineup is claimed to hit a maximum range of up to 153 km on a single battery charge. With the 950W charger, the Chetak 35 series will get the battery refueled from 0- 80 percent in 3 hours.

Speaking of the features, the Chetak 35 is easily one of the loaded e-scooter models from Bajaj Auto. It equips a TFT infotainment screen with touch compatibility. The console supports companion mobile app and will show crucial ride insights along with music control option.

The Creta electric version will be retaining the same exterior design as the ICE variant with certain distinctions. It will get a blanked-off grille and aerodynamically-enhanced alloy wheel design. The interiors of the Creta electric will also be the same as the ICE variant.

Inside the cabin, it will sport a new 3-spoke steering wheel and feature a dual screen setup on the dashboard.
