Hero is emerging as one of the most powerful players in the EV market in India. The company has now introduced three new electric scooters in the country. The latest model are primarily the upgraded version of the existing Optima and NYX electric scooters. The newly launched Hero elecric scooters in India are called the Otima CX5.0 (Dual battery), Optima CX2.0 (Single Battery), and NYX CX5.0 (Dual Battery) starting at Rs. 85,000. Hero has revealed that the new range of electric scooters are packed with Japanese-motor technolgy, hibernating battery technology, and German ICU technolgy that will ensure smooth and comfortable rides. Also, the Hero used a dynamic synchronized powertrain to optimize the performance delivery with the Optima CX5.0, Optima 2X5.0, and NYX5.0.

However, the powertrain is not entirely changed on all three elctric scooters. Its primairily the addition of new features along with battery and powertrain optimization. Speaking of which, the latest Hero Optima CX5.0 features a 3kWh battery unit. This variant gets its power from a 1.9 kW motor and delivers a top speed of 55 kmph. The range delivered by the Optima CX5.0 is 113km per charge.

On the other hand, the Optima CX2.0 (single battery) variant gets a 2kWh battery unit. The motor capacity here is same as the Optima CX5.0, i.e., 1.9kW. This model can attain a top spped of 48 kmph and offer a range of up to 89 km on a single charge.

Lastly, the NYX CX5.0 also gets the same 1.9kW electric motor. This model is also packed with dual LFP battery module as the Optima CX5.0 (3kWh capacity). The riding range and top speed offered by the NFX CX5.0 is 113 km per charge and 55kmph respectively. Battery charging time is around 3 hours as per the company.

Hero Optima CX5.0, Optima CX2.0, And NFX CX5.0 Price In India

The latest Hero Electric Comfort and City speed scooters have been announced between Rs. 85,000- Rs. 95,000 and Rs. 1,05,000-Rs. 1,30,000 respectively. Color options introduced for the Optima CX5.0 and the Optima CX2.0 are Dark Matte Blue and Charcoal Black, while the NYX electric scooter has been launched in Charcoal Black and Pearl White shades.

The Indian EV market is rapidly growing with new models debuting almost every other month in the country. Adding on the collection is the latest affordable electric scooter from Komaki Electric Vehicle Division called the Komaki LY Pro. The new budget electric scooter is launched under Rs. 1.40 lakh and with features such as a dual swappable battery module, multiple riding modes, and more.

The Komaki LY Pro electric scooter is launched in India with a hub-mounted electric motor. The motor capacity is 3kW and it gets 38 AMP controllers. Komaki has packed the LY Pro electric scooter with dual G2V32AH batteries that are compatible with dual connector charger.

Notably, the battery module on the Komaki LY Pro EV is swappable. This setup is better than the fixed battery module offered by some of the rivals. The charging speeds are said to be approximately five hours from zero to 100 percent when charged continuously.

The Komaki LY Pro electric scooter has a dual and a single battery model. With a single battery, the LY Pro is said to deliver around 80 to 85 km per charge of riding range. However, with the dual battery model, the riding range is increased to up to 169km to 180 km per charge.

Moving on to the top speed, the Komaki LY Pro EV can reach up to 62 kmph. But this top speed is when the riding mode is Turbo. In the Eco mode, this scooter will deliver a lower top speed of 58 kmph. For reference, it has a total of three riding modes including Eco, Sports, and Turbo. It also features a Reverse parking mode.

Additional features that the latest Komaki electric scooter brings to the table include TFT digital instrument cluster and a connected vehicle platform for navigation, Bluetooth, and calling. It features 12-inch wheels with alloys and a dual disc braking system.

Komaki LY Pro Electric Scooter India Price, Sale

The Komaki LY Pro electric scooter has been announced starting at Rs. 95,886 (ex-showroom) for the single battery variant. The high-end model with dual battery module is priced at Rs. 1,29,500 (ex-showroom) in India. The Komaki LY Pro electric scooter can be purchased in Black, Cherry Red, and Grey colors. The prime rivals against of the Komaki LY Pro electric scooter in India are Ather 450X, TVS iQube, and Hero Vida.

Honda Activa Electric Scooter New Launch Date Revealed

The Honda Activa electric scooter was previously rumored to go official in the Indian market by March 2024. However, the brand has now confirmed its arrival alongside the upgraded standard Activa 2023 version in January 2024. This launch timeline is almost two months prior to the one tipped earlier.

While the brand has revealed the January 2024 launch timeline for the Activa electric scooter, it is yet to announce the exact date for its arrival in the country. Honda has not revealed the pricing details of the Activa EV just yet. But rumors suggests it will be going up against the likes of Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube, and other popular e-scooters.

As per a new report by Rushlane, Bajaj is working on a new electric scooter that might see the light of the day anytime soon. The report suggests that Bajaj has already applied for the “Blade” name patent for its next electric scooter. While there is no confirmation from the brand just yet, we are expecting some developments to be confirmed in the coming days.

Nevertheless, the report suggests that the Blade EV will offer a better riding range compared to the current-generation Bajaj Chetak Premium electric scooter. Thanks to the online leaks, the powertrain and some of the other features of the Bajaj Blade electric scooter are known. The pricing tipped for the Bajaj Blade EV is around Rs. 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Bajaj Blade electric scooter is said to be packed with a 50.4 V/ 60.4 Ah battery pack. This will possibly get an IPX rated certification for added weather protection. Furthermore, the Bajaj Blade EV is likely going to offer around 75 km/h top speed. As of now, the acceleration speeds aren’t revealed.

This compact electric car could use a 20-25kWh skateboard platform-based battery module. Furthermore, MG is said to source the battery of Comet EV from Tata AutoComp. However, this information is not confirmed by the company yet.

The Matter Aera is a modern-age electric motorcycle that is laced with a 10.5kW motor for power delivery. The Aera 5000 electric motorcycle has a 5KWh battery which the brand claims can offer up to 120-150 km range per charge. There are two other variants including Aera 4000 and Aera 6000 that are packed with 4kWh and 6kWh battery modules respectively.

The battery on this new geared electric motorcycle can take a full charge within five hours. This charging speed is with the regular charger. If the battery is charged with a fast charger the charging speed would be two hours. What makes this electric motorcycle unique is the four-speed gearbox that can offer an experience similar to conventional petrol bikes.

The Matter Aera electric motorcycle has a telescopic front and dual rear shock absorbers suspension system. Braking is taken care of by a single disc brake both upfront and rear clubbed with single-channel ABS breaking technology.

Other key features that Matter Aera geared electric motorcycle offers include a faux fuel tank combined with 5-litre storage capacity, reverse parking assist, keyless ignition, theft detection, and a large 7-inch touch-enabled LCD digital instrument cluster.

Matter Aera Geared Electric Motorcycle Price In India

The Matter Aera 5000 and 5000+ geared electric motorcycle has been announced in the country at Rs. 1.44 lakh and Rs. 1.54 lakh respectively. As of now, the brand has not yet revealed the Matter Aera 4000 and Aera 6000’s pricing and availability details. The Aera 5000 electric motorcycle is made available for pre-bookings in Tier 1 cities in India such as Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai. The new Ather electric scooter will have a lower capacity motor and probably the battery too to reduce the cost. We might also see a less riding range per charge compared to the current-generation model. Ather has recently revamped its portfolio with Gen 3 electric scooters, however, the moniker or the lineup of the next budget electric scooter is not revealed. However, we are expecting some details in the coming days.

A new electric scooter has been launched in the Indian market. After Ola and Okaya, a Bengaluru-based EV brand called River has launched the country’s first maxi-style electric scooter. The River Indie maxi electric scooter has arrived with a pocket-friendly price label and features like  multiple riding modes, up to 120km range, and more.

The River Indie maxi electric scooter has been equipped with a mid-drive PMSM electric motor. This new electric scooter produces a peak power of 9hp. The company has used a 4kWh battery module to power the country’s first maxi style electric scooter. The battery pack is a Li-ion module that has IP67 certification for water resistance.

The River Indie maxi-style electric scooter will deliver a maximum riding range of 120 km with each charging cycle. It can take up to five hours for the battery to get up to 80 percent charge. This is the true range as per the brand claims. Furthermore, the River Indie electric scooter can offer a top speed of 90 km/h.

It can accelerate from zero to 40 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. This electric scooter is integrated with three riding models including Eco, Ride, and Rush modes. There’s also a reverse parking mode to assist with parking at tight spots. Remaining features offered by the River Indie electric scooter includes signature LED DRLs up front and rear, 6-inch monochrome digital instrument cluster, and a USB charger.

The River Indie maxi electric scooter will be a practical solution for the masses with its 43l under-seat storage and 12-litre glove box with lock. It also comes with pannier mounts and front footpegs.

The River Indie maxi electric scooter comes with a price tag of Rs. 1.25 lakh in the Indian market. Currently, the company is taking pre-orders for the maxi electric scooter at a token amount of Rs. 1,250 via its official portal. Color options available are Summer Red, Monsoon Blue, and Spring Yellow.
