Saddam Hussein To Appear As Villain In New Call of Duty: Black Ops Game

Key Highlights

  • The upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops game features Saddam Hussein as the main villain
  • The game includes real-life figures like Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush, and Margaret Thatcher
  • Full game details will be revealed next month by Activision-Blizzard

The popular video game series Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to release a new installment later this year, featuring the controversial former Iraqi President, Saddam Hussein, as an antagonist. In an intriguing twist, the game will take place during the Gulf War of the early 1990s. Also Read | Best ‘Call of Duty’ Games To Download And Play: Check Out The List

Historical Figures in the Spotlight

The reveal trailer, released on Tuesday, showcases a dramatic live-action, black-and-white preview. In the trailer, historical figures such as former US Presidents Bill Clinton and George H. W. Bush, and former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, appear alongside Hussein. These characters are portrayed by real-life actors, adding a layer of authenticity and intrigue to the game’s narrative.

The trailer is shrouded in darkness, with the characters delivering ominous monologues. Hussein, in particular, captures the audience’s attention with his line: “Nothing is what it seems. But if it’s truth you seek, look in the dark.” This cryptic statement hints at the complex and mysterious storyline players can expect.

Blending Fiction and Reality

The Call of Duty: Black Ops series is known for its unique approach to storytelling, blending fictional elements with real historical and political figures. Previous games in the series have featured fictionalized versions of US Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and John F. Kennedy. This blend of reality and fiction has become a hallmark of the franchise, drawing players into immersive and thought-provoking scenarios.

A Return to the Past

Like its predecessor, Black Ops 6 will be set in the past. While the previous game focused on the Cold War era of the early to mid-1980s, this new installment shifts to the geopolitical turmoil of the Gulf War. This conflict, which took place between 1990 and 1991, began when Saddam Hussein’s regime invaded Kuwait. A coalition of 42 countries, led by the US, eventually forced Iraqi troops out of Kuwait while carrying out a devastating bombardment of Iraq.

Unveiling Next Month

Activision-Blizzard, the US-based video game company behind the Call of Duty series, plans to unveil the full details of the latest installment next month. The anticipation is high, as fans eagerly await more information on how the game will depict this pivotal moment in history.

His depiction in video games is not new; he was previously featured in the Soldier of Fortune series, released between 2000 and 2002.

Hyundai Creta EV Test Mule Snapped Again: New Design Elements?

The Hyundai Creta EV test mule has been spotted again in India wrapped heavily under camouflage taping. Looking at the overall stance, the Creta EV can be seen bearing resemblance to the Creta ICE model. The LED DRL and tail lamps of the Creta EV looks same as the ICE model. While the primary aesthetics of both Creta EV and the Creta ICE model are similar, the former will get EV-specific design elements.

Amongst those notable EV-centric design elements will be the new closed-off grille and alloy wheels with an aerodynamic approach. There are reports that Hyundai will be using low-resistance tyres on the Creta EV. The latest leaked test mule image of the Creta EV also can be seen with a front fender-mounted charging slot. This same setup has been snapped in the past too with other Creta EV’s test mules.

A sneak peek of the Creta EV from the side profile also gives a glimpse of the cabin. It seems the first electric SUV from Creta will get a new two spoke steering wheel. The steering wheel design seems familiar to the Inoniq 5 EV. We can’t confirm the exact screen layout which the Creta EV’s dashboard will feature.

But we expect it to be same as the ICE model where the infotainment system will get both Android Auto and Apple Car Play compatibility. Also, a radar box is seem mounted on the Creta EV’s test mule which indicates the ADAS safety suite on the EV model too.

  • Moto G85 to launch in global markets soon
  • High-resolution renders of the phone have leaked
  • It is likely to come in Brass and Dark Grey colors

Motorola is gearing up to launch the Moto G85 in global markets soon. High-resolution renders of the phone have leaked, revealing its design and color options. Additionally, some specifications were recently spotted on Geekbench, and a tipster has provided more details. Here’s a closer look at what we know so far about the Moto G85. Also Read | Moto G04 Review: Is Motorola’s Latest Budget Phone Worth Your Bucks?

Leaked Design and Color Options

The leaked renders, shared by Evan Blass on X, suggest that the Moto G85 will come in Brass and Dark Grey colors, with a Blue option also expected. The front of the device features a punch-hole cutout for the camera and slim bezels on all sides. Both the front and back appear to have a slight curve, giving the phone a sleek and slender profile.

The rear camera bump has a smooth elevation from the rest of the surface, unlike the Moto G84‘s separately set camera mesa. This new design looks more refined, resembling the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. The renders indicate that the phone will have two rear cameras and the distinctive ‘M’ insignia of Motorola.

At the bottom of the phone, there is a speaker grille, a SIM tray, a USB-C port, and a mic hole. Another mic hole is positioned at the top. However, one significant omission is the 3.5mm headphone jack, which was present in the Moto G84. This could be a disappointment for some Moto fans who prefer wired audio options.

Expected Specifications

  • According to tipster MysteryLupin on X, the Moto G85 might feature a 6.67-inch pOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, an upgrade from the G84’s 6.5-inch display.
  • The rear camera setup is expected to include a 50MP main camera with an f/1.79 aperture and a 9MP ultrawide sensor that also functions as a macro camera. The front camera could be a 32MP sensor.
  • The Moto G85 is likely to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, clocked at 2.3GHz, with an Adreno 619 GPU, which is faster than the Snapdragon 695 5G found in its predecessor.
  • The phone is expected to run on a nearly stock version of Android 14, providing a clean and smooth user experience.
  • It might come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which should be ample for most users.
  • A 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support is anticipated, promising long battery life and quick recharges.
  • Despite its larger display and battery, the Moto G85 could weigh only 173 grams. While slightly heavier than the Moto G84, which weighed 166 grams, it still maintains a light and compact feel.

Overall, the Moto G85 appears to offer several improvements over its predecessor, though the absence of a headphone jack may be a drawback for some users.
