First Electric Scooter Official Crash Tests BY ARAI

For the first time ever, an official regulatory body has conducted crash tests for the electric scooters in India. ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India), recently performed electric scooter crash tests at its testing facility in Pune. Not just in India, this crash test is one-of-its-kind when we consider the international markets too. Sadly, ARAI didn’t disclose the electric scooters on which the crash tests were performed and have also not revealed the name of e-scooters models used for the same. We are waiting for the details to unfold.

Maruti Suzuki eWX Patent Filed

Maruti Suzuki’s second EV offering for the Indian market has been confirmed this week. The company has filed a trademark for the eWX which will be launched after the eVX in India. The leaked patent image of the Maruti eWX confirms a new compact EV hatch in the works. The upcoming Maruti EV will feature a vertical LED headlamp setup as per the leaked patent image. Also, there will be a new EV-centric grill design which was displayed with the concept model earlier. This compact Maruti EV is expected to arrive with a single motor linked to a decent battery size which will offer up to 230 km per charge range.

Jitendra EV Primo S, Primo Plus Electric Scooters launched

The Indian E2W maker, Jitendra EV has expanded its EV portfolio with the launch of two new electric scooter models. The company has brought in the Primo Plus and the Primo S electric scooter models in the country. The new e-scooters offer up to 52 kmph top speed and a long range with per battery charge cycle. The Primo S is launched with a 2.04 kWh battery and delivers up to 82 km range per charge. Whereas, the Primo Plus e-scooter comes with a 3.26 kWh battery and offers a higher range of up to 137 km on a full charge. These new electric scooters are priced starting at Rs. 79,999 in the Indian market.

Mahindra XUV Electric Steering Wheel Patent Filed

Mahindra has also find a new patent in India. The auto giant has filed trademark for a new steering wheel which possibly will be integrated in future Mahindra electric cars and SUVs. The XUV EV’s steering wheel design resembles closely to the new-gen Tata Nexon’s steering wheel. The leaked patent images shows an octagonal two-spoke design where the flat central console is said to feature a secondary infotainment screen. The screen might offer touch-controls for media playback, cabin climate control, and more.
