Xiaomi is rapidly growing its portfolio in the tablet industry globally. The brand recently introduced its flagship-grade Xiaomi Pad 6 Android tablet lineup and is now ready to refresh the Redmi Pad lineup. The second-generation Redmi Pad 2 tablet has been popping up via leaks since the last year but with no official timeline available for its launch. The Redmi Pad 2 tablet has been certified by a couple of portals that confirmed its development. Now, the spec sheet of the Redmi Pad 2 tablet has been leaked hinting at a mid-range model incoming.
Redmi Pad 2 Key Specs Leak: Major Upgrades Or Downgrades?

Specifications

10.95-inch, 90Hz refresh rate
Rear Camera
8MP
Front Camera
5MP
Chipset
Snapdragon 680
Android
Android 13
The Redmi Pad 2 specification has been leaked by tipster Kacper Skrzypek who is also known as whistleblower. The tipster has shared the display, chipset, and camera details of the upcoming Redmi Pad 2 tablet via his Twitter account. According to the tweet shared by the tipster, Xiaomi will be using an LCD screen similar to the first-gen Redmi Pad tablet on the new model too.
#RedmiPad2: – Snapdragon 680 – display 235,8 x 147,4 mm (~10,95"), LCD, 90 Hz, 1200 x 1920 px – 8 Mpx main camera, 5 Mpx front camera – Android 13
The Redmi Pad 2’s LCD screen will measure 10.95 inches which is a marginal increase over the 10.61-inch screen size offered by its predecessor. The leak suggests a single front and rear camera sensor on the Redmi Pad 2 tablet. The rear panel of the upcoming mid-range Redmi Pad tablet will accommodate an 8MP sensor, while the front panel will house a 5MP selfie snapper.
While the rear camera setup is identical to the first-gen model, the selfie camera is downgraded. We aren’t sure why Xiaomi has used a smaller 5MP lens with the new model opposed to an 8MP selfie lens offered by the Redmi Pad.
As for the chipset, the Redmi Pad 2 tablet is said to get its power from the octa-core Snapdragon 680 chipset. Again, Xiaomi apparently isn’t making any major upgrades with the chipset with the new-generation model. The Android version tipped is Android 13 which we expect to be topped with a custom MIUI interface customized for tablet.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 launch timeline is not revealed as of now. While the tablet has started visiting multiple certification portals its availability remains uncertain. Xiaomi will probably launch the Redmi Pad 2 in China and then bring it to the remaining global markets including India.
