Poco’s latest offering for the Indian masses is an affordable 5G smartphone in the M series dubbed the Poco M4 5G. Poco has packed the latest affordable 5G phone with a MediaTek Dimensity series processor, an FHD+ display, and a 90Hz FHD+ LCD panel. Poco M4 5G Price In India. Buying Details

The Poco M4 5G has arrived in India with an asking price tag of Rs. 12,999 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. This makes the Poco M4 5G one of the cheapest 5G smartphones in India. The latest Poco M series 5G phone can also be purchased with a higher 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration that is priced at Rs. 14,999.

Poco has scheduled the M4 5G’s first sale in India on May 5. This is just a day after the Tecno Phantom X is going up for sale in the country. The Poco M4 5G will be available for sale via Flipkart in three different colors – Cool Blue, Power Black, and distinct Poco Yellow.

Poco M4 5G Full Specifications And Features

The Poco M4 5G features the iconic Poco design (hyponotic swirl) with a large black camera module along with the Poco badging. In terms of specifications, the Poco M4 5G is a trimmed-down version of the Poco M4 Pro 5G which was introduced last year in India. The standard Poco M4 5G is powered by the budget Dimensity 700 chipset.

The octa-core MediaTek processor gets up to 6GB of RAM support for multitasking. The software version used by Poco is the Android 12 OS which has an MIUI 13 skin layered on top. Poco has announced the M4 5G with up to 128GB built-in memory capacity. This can be further expanded using an external microSD card to up to 512GB.

This will take care of all the storage crunch issues with file storage. The tall display upfront on the M4 5G measures 6.5-inches. Google has announced a new policy centered around the removal of third-party Android apps that supports call recording. Notably, Google isn’t entirely killing the support for audio call recording on its platform but is rather modifying the Accessibility API for remote calling which will limit app developers from recording audio calls remotely.

The policy update post on the Google Play Console support page was initially reported by a Reddit user called NLL-APPS.

Who All Will Be Affected?

Google’s upcoming policy update that is said to come in effect starting May 11, 2022, will not allow apps from third-party developers to work around the Accessibility API to get access to call recording. Notably, Google already has been trying to block Android apps from recording calls or videos for privacy reasons.

The new policies will only restrict users from downloading third-party apps that support are asked permission for remote call recordings. If aby user’s smartphone has a built-in call recorder option as a part of the custom UI offered by the OEM, then there wouldn’t be any issues with the call recordings. For reference, Xiaomi’s MIUI OS comes with a built-in call recorder integrated within the dialer app.

Google has further specified that it is working on fixing all the loopholes with third-party call recording. Blocking the two-way call recording using wireless earphones or headphones will also be blocked once the new privacy policy comes into effect.

LG Launches New Home Appliances Range In India; Eyeing 30% Growth In 2022

Consumer electronics company LG has launched a new range of home appliances, including Smart Home Appliances. The new range lineup, includes VIRAAT Air Conditioners, InstaView Door-in-Door, Frost Free Refrigerators, AI Direct Drive Washing Machines, Puricare Wearable Air Purifier, UV+UF Water Purifiers, and a new range of Charcoal Microwaves.

Meanwhile, the company said that it is expecting 30 percent growth in 2022 in its home appliances and air conditioners segment this year as it has launched a new range of products in India.

“In the previous calendar year, we have seen a growth of more than 20 percent (for home appliances and AC), and we are expecting to grow more than 30 percent this year with the new line of products, which we have introduced today,” Deepak Bansal, LG Electronics India VP-Home Appliances & Air-Conditioners was quoted by the news agency.

It is worth noting that air conditioners and home appliances are contributing 70 percent to the LG’s revenue, he added. The report also pointed out that the segment received Rs. 15,000 crore of revenue in 2021 and claims that refrigerators and air conditioners reported growth at the beginning of this year and are expected to continue in the coming months.

“We have already started to see a precursor to the unprecedented growth which we are going to see in the refrigerators and AC. The pace of growth is much higher than what we had expected,” said Bansal.

The newly launched refrigerators feature a flat design and are loaded with metallic decorations, while Frost-free refrigerators come with E-micom. Besides, users can control the settings easily temperature without opening the door.

Looking at the prices, it can be said that the Nord CE 2 Lite would arrive as the cheapest yet OnePlus smartphone in India.

Until now, OnePlus’s cheapest smartphone range has been under Rs. 25,000. It would be the first time OnePlus will be targeting the sub Rs. 20,000 price category in the country. The Nord CE 2 Lite’s display could be an FHD+ LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole camera cutout for a 16MP selfie camera.
