Tata Safari EV Test Mule Spotted Out In The Wild: Coming Sooner Than Expected?

The Tata Safari EV has been creating a lot of buzz in the automotive industry ever since it was first speculated to be in the works. With the sighting of a camouflaged prototype on public roads, it appears that the highly anticipated vehicle is inching closer to production.

Tata Safari EV: Expected Specs, Features

The Safari EV, which is based on the ICE (internal combustion engine) model of the same name, was spotted testing on roads. It’s expected to have a more powerful motor than the Nexon EV, which already has an impressive output of 129 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque. The Safari EV is expected to have a range of over 400- 500 kilometres, which is significantly more than the Nexon EV’s range of 312 kilometres.

As per reports, the Tata Safari EV is expected to be built on the same platform as the Tata Harrier and is likely to share some of its powertrain components with the Harrier EV. The Tata Harrier EV is expected to come with a 60-65 kWh battery pack that will power an electric motor producing 120 hp of maximum power output. If the Tata Safari EV shares the same powertrain as the Harrier EV, we can expect similar power and range figures from the Safari EV as well.

In addition to its advanced powertrain and sleek design, the Tata Safari EV is expected to offer a plethora of high-tech features. One of the highlights is a 10.25-inch infotainment system that will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, providing drivers with seamless access to their favourite apps and entertainment. The car is also expected to feature ventilated and powered seats, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof, adding to the overall driving experience.

In terms of safety, the Tata Safari EV is likely to come equipped with six airbags, ABS + EBD, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These features are designed to keep drivers and passengers safe on the road, whether on long journeys or daily commutes.

The Safari EV is expected to be available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, which will make it a viable option for families. The AWD system, if confirmed, will also make it a capable off-roader. Reports suggest that the Safari EV may also feature regenerative braking, which will help to recharge the battery while on the move.

Tata Safari EV: Launch Date & Price

The launch date of the Tata Safari EV is yet to be confirmed, but reports suggest that it could be unveiled later this year. The Safari EV will compete with other electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric. It’s expected to be priced slightly higher than the Nexon EV, which starts at around Rs 14 lakh.

With its AWD system, more power, and greater range, it’s sure to appeal to many buyers. As Tata continues to invest in EV technology, we can expect to see more impressive vehicles from the company in the coming years.
