The Tata Harrier and Safari have secured their places in the Indian market, sharing a common platform and engine. However, until now, they have only been available in internal combustion engine (ICE) variants. Building on the success of Tata’s EV range, the carmaker is set to introduce electric versions of these popular SUVs. The Harrier EV made its debut at the Auto Expo, hinting at the possibility of multiple battery packs and an all-wheel-drive system, mirroring the approach taken with the Nexon EV. While specific details remain scarce, more information is expected to surface in the coming days.

Tata Punch EV

Tata’s entry-level offerings, including the Tiago and Tigor, have already embraced electric powertrains, as has the best-selling Nexon. However, the Punch, Tata’s second-best-seller, has only been available with an internal combustion engine. To cater to a broader customer base and face stiff competition from rivals like the Hyundai Exter, Tata is set to launch an all-electric version of the Punch in 2024. The Punch EV is anticipated to feature a battery pack similar to the Tigor, providing a range of approximately 300km on a full charge.

The Tata Curvv concept, unveiled last year, represents an ambitious project for the automaker. With design elements already integrated into the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari, Tata now plans to bring the production version of the Curvv to the market. Spotted testing on multiple occasions, the all-new vehicle from Tata Motors is expected to be available in both ICE and electric versions, akin to the Nexon. Expected to enter production in April 2024, the Curvv is poised for launch around June, marking another milestone in Tata’s commitment to innovation and diversity in its vehicle offerings.
