Realme X7 has 5G capable MediaTek dimensity 800U chipset, and this is the first time that this has been introduced in India. The processor is rivalling Qualcomm’s Snapdragon and is doing quite well. It has 6 GB RAM + 64GB and the 8GB is set for a price marginally higher.

The performance regarding multi tasking and app opening is efficient. Realme X7 is power efficient at the price range and that is something to appreciate. This phone comes with seamless performance. Although it does get heated a little bit, but it isn’t alarming.
If you are ardent gamer then this would disappoint you to know that the quality of graphics is not up to the mark. The GPU performance is not at par at all. Snapdragon gives you a better performance when it comes to high quality frame rate. You may experience some lag and some pulsating while playing for long hours. You get the 4G volte support. The company claims that it is splash proof although at this price set it would not be advisable to go swimming with it. The speakers have depth and clarity but stereo speakers would do very well.
Although it doesn’t come with what was an absolute favourite, a premium glass designed back, this phone comes with a polycarbonate matte finished back which looks quite sophisticated. This type of back finish is an especial hindrance to fingerprint sensors. The 6.4 inch display weighing 176g and having a width of 8.1mm is impressive. Additional silicone case is provided with this smart phone, as every other phone from Realme to prevent it from any possible damage without masking the very vibrant outer space inspired colour choices.
The three cameras are housed on the top corner of the left side. The bulge is little odd but can be veiled if you use a case and is not that bothering. Realme is planning to do without the headphone jack, and this series is a paradigm of the same. This is natural because people are shifting to wireless alternatives and the company themselves have launched a number of wireless options. But if you still obsess over wired headphones, and think that is your go to, you need not worry for the reason that this phone comes with a 3.5mm type-C adapter. The slot for the two nano sim cards is present at the bottom with the USB port and speakers. This comes with Hi-res sound certification.
The display is of 6.4 inch diagonally, and packs in a Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. It offers 60Hz refresh rate which is okay given the price set. It is an OLED display therefore is devoid of the colour shift at various angles. It includes OSIE visual optimisation and features such as reading mode, dark mode and adjustable colour temperature of the display. It lacks HDR certification but a Wide Vine L1 support enables you to watch HD videos. The brightness peaks to a mere 600nits which is not quite sustainable, hence you might have to squint now and then when the sun is in all its glory.
There are three cameras situated at the top left corner in the back. There is one 64MP primary lens with 8MP ultra wide lens and 2MP macro sensors. The camera does bring out clarity and depth and is quite colour accurate but it has an overall overly smooth look which might disturb some. It has a good exposure sensor and there is almost non-existent shutter lag. The colour contrast is built in quite well. Portraits are okay with background blurred out, but most of the times a little too much is blurred; hence edge detection is a problem for this guy.
The low light shots can be problematic given the fact that the exposure somehow becomes quite high. Focussing in low light is a little troublesome too. The PRO night mode can be used if you want some great low light clicks. It comes with the options of tuning and balancing the exposure, white balance and shutter speed.
Video capturing can be done at 4K but only at 30fps and 1080p recording allows 60fps. The front camera for selfies captures quite detailed shots and the skin tone accuracy is great but there is some smoothening to be expected in this one too.
Realme X7 packs in a hefty 4300mAh battery although a day’s usage would be sufficient to drain out. It has super fast charging speeds and has 50W charging speed. It gets to 7% in 15 minutes and full charge in 50 minutes which should be lauded. The battery capacity is acceptable with dimensity 800U’s power efficiency.
