Hero Motocorp has finally launched its first electric offering, the Vida V1. We were at the company’s CIT facility outside of Jaipur and while we ride the scooter tomorrow, here is a quick look at what all we know so far. The Vida brand name will get more products under its belt in the years to come. Continue to read below if you want to understand the pricing, specs, features and colour options
Hero Vida V1 price
This new electric scooter is available in two versions of V1 Pro and V1 Plus. While the Plus carries a sticker price of Rs 1.45 lakh, the Pro is priced at Rs 1.69 lakh. As we understand from Hero’s communication, these prices include the FAME subsidies but not the state level subsidy. Hence, Hero’s offering turns out to be one of the most expensive in the segment.
Hero Vida V1 specs
The Vida e-scooter is powered by an electric motor that can generate a peak power output of 8 bhp. Maximum torque however has not been disclosed yet. While the V1 Plus gets a 3.44 kWh battery pack, the more expensive V1 Pro gets a larger 3.94 kWh unit. This is also the reason why the Pro has a higher certified range of 165km as compared to 143km on the Plus. Hero claims both the versions will hit a top speed of 80km/h and the 0-60 km run on the Pro takes 3.4 seconds. On the Plus, this is down to only 3.2 seconds.
Hero Vida V1 features
The scooters come with LED lights all around. They also get a 7″ TFT touch screen. The connected app features include anti-theft alarm, track by bike, geo fencing, vehicle diagnostics etc. There is a cruise control set-up, keyless start, navigation, follow me home lights etc. The Vida V1 also gets reverse mode to get out of tight parking situations. Lastly, it also offers removable battery set-up.
Hero Vida V1 Colours
As the launch, we saw as many as five different colours on offer. These are visible above. You can pick from red-black, cyan-black, all black, white-black and orange-black. At this point of time, we aren’t aware if both the Pro and Plus will get all these five colour options or not.
Other details
The scooter also comes with a buy back scheme. The vehicle warranty stands at 5 yrs or 50,000. The battery however has a lower warranty of just 3 yrs or 30,000km. Deliveries will start in the first week of December but for now, the scooter will only be available in Delhi, Jaipur and Bangalore!
