Samsung has officially announced the date for its upcoming Unpacked event, where it will introduce its latest foldable phones and other devices. Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2023: What to Expect

At the event, Samsung is expected to unveil up to four devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. These models will feature significant upgrades compared to their predecessors, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. Additionally, Samsung is also likely to announce the Galaxy Tab S9 and Galaxy Watch 6 series, expanding its product lineup.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is anticipated to sport a 7.6-inch AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone will also feature a 6.2-inch secondary or outer screen with the same refresh rate. Samsung plans to provide Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for added durability.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, accompanied by 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to offer ingress protection and run on Android 13 OS based on OneUI 5.1.

The phone is rumored to boast a triple camera setup on the rear, comprising a 50MP main lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto unit. There have been conflicting reports suggesting a 108MP main camera. For selfies, it will have a 12MP front-facing camera on the outer display.

It is likely to come with a 4,400mAh battery that supports 45 or 25W fast charging, as well as wireless and reverse wireless charging. Additionally, the device will include support for an S Pen stylus.

The primary display will measure 6.7 inches and offer an FHD+ resolution along with a 120Hz refresh rate.

For photography, the Z Flip 5 will house a dual camera system, consisting of a 12MP main lens and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. It is expected to have a 10MP front-facing camera. While the main camera is capable of shooting 4K videos, it remains uncertain whether it can achieve 60fps at that resolution.

Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Z Flip 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It is likely to come in configurations of 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The device will feature a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast charging support, as well as wireless and reverse wireless charging capabilities. It will run on OneUI 5.1 based on Android 13 OS.
