JSW MG Motor this week has updated its portfolio with a new version of the Comet EV. The 2025 Comet EV now comes in five trims and a revised price hike of around Rs. 27,000. The updated Comet EV 2025 model is equipped with features such as rear parking sensors, auto fold ORVMs, fast charging capabilities, and more. New Motor Vehicle Fine Charges Announced

The  Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in India have revised the traffic violation penalties in India. Looking at the rising number of road accidents/mishaps, and violation of traffic rules, the government has planned to revise the penalties for all the offences including drunken driving, driving without a valid licence, driving wothout seat belts, etc. The new traffic penalties comes in effect from March 1, 2025. Snapshots of a mystery Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has been leaked indicating a launch in the pipeline. Looking at the leaked spy shots, the upcoming Chetak electric scooter is likely going to be an affordable model which will be addressing practicality and comfort ride aspects. Honda Activa e, QC1 Electric Scooter Accessories List Revealed

Honda Activa e and the QC1 electric scooter’s accessories list has been announced officially. Honda have released a list of as many as 12 different accessories for both of its electric scooter models. Common accessories that can be purchased for the Activa e and the QC1 includes full face helmets to side mirror covers, helmet wire lock, licence plate covers, handle bar grips, and more. Whereas, the frunk and the charging bag case are introduced exclusively for the Activa e and the QC1 e-scooters respectively.

Honda Activa e, QC1 Quick Highlights

Honda Activa e has dual trims with the standard variant carrying a price tag of Rs. 1.17 lakh (ex showroom), while the higher-spec RoadSync model is priced at Rs. 1.51 lakh (ex showroom). Both Activa e standard and the RoadSync models comes equipped with a dual swappable battery module (1.5 kWh each) offering a claimed range of up to 102 km per charge.

On the other hand, the QC1 is a trimmed down version of the Activa e featuring a fixed battery setup of 1.5 kWh capacity. It is claimed to offer up to 80 km of range on a single battery charge. The Honda QC1 carries a lower price tag than the Activa e at Rs. 90,000 (ex showroom).

MG Comet EV 2025 version launched in India comes in five different variants. Buyers will now get the Comet EV’s Executive, Excite, Excite FC, Exclusive, and Exclusive FC models in the country besides the BlackStorm Edition. All Comet EV’s variants have been updated with new range of features. Sarting with the base Executive trim, it gets the basic infotainment and manual ORVM setup, whereas the Excite trim additionally gets rear parking sensors and auto-fold ORVM modules.

Likewise, the Excite FC, Exclusive, and the Exclusive FC will come with all the features offered by the Excite trim while adding on features like fast charging, premium leatherette seats, and 4-speaker music system.

New Traffic Violation Penalty Charges And Punishments

In effect starting March 1, 2025, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in India have revised the traffic violations penalties. This move comes due to the surging traffic violation cases and accidents in the country. We even have witnessed several deadly accidents involving minors claiming lives of innocent citizens. And since there have been multiple such extreme cases of hit and run in recent times which has lead the government to re-consider all penalties and punishments.

Revised Traffic Fines Charges And Punishments In India

Drunk Drive Fines And Punishments:

First Penalty: Rs 10,000 fine and/or 6 months in prison

Second penalty: Rs. 15,000 fine or a jail term of 2 years

Driving Without Seatbelt:

Penalty: Rs. 1,000

Driving Without Valid Licence:

New Penalty: Rs 5,000

Not Making Way For Ambulance Or Emergency Vehicles:

New Penalty: Rs 10,000

Overloading Fines:

New Penalty: Rs. 20,000

Driving Without A Valid Insurance 

First Penalty: Rs 2,000 and/or 3-months in prison

Second Penalty: Rs 4,000 in case of repeat violations
