The Google Pixel Fold’s first look has been revealed via an official teaser shared by the brand itself. Google has released the Pixel Fold’s short teaser video at the company’s official YouTube and Twitter handles. The teaser video only gives a sneak peek of the Google’s first foldable Pixel smartphone and not the hardware details.

Google is certainly reserving the major highlights till the Pixel Fold foldable handset’s launch at the I/0 2023 event. For reference, Google is hosting its annual developer conference I/0 2023 on 10th May where the brand’s first foldable handset is likely breaking covers alongside the affordable Pixel 7a and the first Pixel Tablet.

The design elements that the first teaser video confirms related to the Google Pixel Fold is the vertical folding hinge which is identical to the Samsung Galaxy Fold series. Once unfolded, the Pixel Fold is unfolded it will essentially transform into a large tablet-like form factor. In the folded state, the Google Pixel foldable handset will become compact.

The teaser video also shows a small touchscreen panel upfront and a horizontal camera bar at the back which resembles the existing Pixel smartphone lineups. However, the camera module on the Google Pixel Fold doesn’t protrude as prominently as on the standard Pixel smartphones.

The Google Pixel Fold specifications have been leaked multiple times and is tipped to pack a 5.8-inch and 7.6-inch folded and unfolded screen respectively. The chipset powering the first Pixel foldable handset will be he custom Tensor G2 processor which also drives the current-generation Pixel 7 series.

Upfront the Pixel Fold will feature a 9.5MP camera and inside there will be an 8MP sensor. The rear camera module will comprise a 48MP main sensor combined with a 10.8MP ultrawide lens and another 10.8MP telephoto lens. Ola seized the big opportunity in EV space with the launch of the Ola S1 series. The electric scooters from Ola broke all records in terms of popularity amongst Indian consumers. But seems like not all if rosy for OLA. The company might soon have to refund approx. Rs. 130 crores to its buyers. This development is coming after a probe on the company was closed by the Ministry of Heavy Industries for overpricing. Why OLA Electric Will Refund Money To Consumers?

The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) apparently shared a recovery notice with Ola Electric stating no FAME II subsidy approval unless consumers are reimbursed the extra amount they paid for charger. OLA has been asked to pay over Rs. 130 crores to the consumers who had additionally bought the e-scooter charger as an accessory.

Who All Will Get Reimbursement From OLA?

OLA has reportedly sent a notice to ARAI stating that the company will return the stated amount to the consumers for the off-board charger purchase. But only the customers who have purchased the charger along with the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter in the FY 2019-20 will be getting the reimbursement. This is further valid for the off-board charger purchases made till March 30, 2023.

If we speak of the exact amount that OLA will be returning to each consumer then it could easily range between Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 19,000. It is worth adding that OLA has been selling the charger along with the S1 Pro electric scooter as an added accessory. This is one of the reasons it came under MHI (Ministry of Heavy Industries) radar for overpricing.

Seems like this add-on service eventually became expensive for the brand itself. Reports suggests that if OLA bundled the charger along with the S1 Pro e-scooter then the brand might have to spend up to Rs. 100 crore additionally. But the reimbursement of approx. Rs. 130 crores will now be heavy on the company’s pockets.

Any Other Brands Under Radar?

For breaking, this low-speed electric scooter relies on 110mm drum brakes both at the front and the rear. Google Pixel 7a is likely breaking covers alongside the Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet at the Google I/O 2023 event on May 19. Ahead of the anticipated launch multiple leaks and sightings of the next budget Google Pixel Fold phone has popped up online. But now almost two weeks ahead of the launch the live images of the Pixel 7a have surfaced leaving a little to the imagination in terms of design.

Google Pixel 7a Packaging, Live Renders, And Color Options Revealed

The Google Pixel 7a retail box packaging and live renders have been shared by Snoopytech on Twitter and first spotted by the publication 9to5Google. The fresh leak shows the Pixel 7a’s full design language which bares major resemblance to the existing Pixel 7 series comprising the vanilla Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro variants.

The affordable Pixel 7s will wear the same style statement as its older siblings including the horizontal camera bar island at the back with a noticeable bump. The frame seems metallic with slightly curved edges.

The Google’s “G” branding is inscribed at the center of the back panel. The leaked retail box and render images confirm the dark grey color option. The color option would be called Cobalt. To recap, the Pixel 7a previous leak has revealed Artic Blue and bright Orange color variants. With this, we can assume the Pixel 7a will be available at least in at least three color options.

Another fresh leak has revealed the Geekbench scores of the Pixel 7a along with the specifications. The budget Pixel 7a’s Tensor G2 sensor is re-confirmed along with 8GB RAM. The benchmark scores achieved by the Pixel 7a is 1,380 and 3,071 in single-core and multi-core test respectively.

The other leaked Pixel 7a specifications include a 6.1-inch FHD+ display which could possibly be an OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The affordable Pixel 7a is further said to offer a dual-lens rear camera module that will include a 64MP main camera with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. Google will be loading the Pixel 7a with the Android 13 OS. Rounding off the Pixel 7a’s spec sheet is rumored a 4,400 mAh battery unit with 20W fast charging support.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor as mentioned above is designed to power premium mid-range Android smartphone. But there’s a catch. The Dimensity 7050 isn’t an entirely new mobile processor. MediaTek has essentially rebadged the Dimensity 1080 mobile chipset as the Dimensity 7050 SoC. In fact, the chip making giant is reportedly planning to refresh its portfolio with rebadged Dimensity 6000 and Dimensity 7000 mobile processors.

The new Dimensity 7050 processor along with the upcoming ones will only feature a renewed moniker. The spec-sheet will be identical to the existing versions. Speaking of which, the newly introduced Dimensity 7050 mobile processor has been constructed on the same TSMC 6nm fabrication process and has an octa-core CPU. MediaTek suggests a boosted gaming performance with the new Dimensity chipset.

The CPU core cluster on the Dimensity 7050 includes dual high-performance Cortex-A78 cores with 2.6GHz clock speed and six-power efficient Cortex-A55 cores with 2.0GHz clock speed. The Dimensity 7050 has the Mali-G68 MC4 GPU instilled which is the same as the Dimensity 1080 5G processor.

In addition to this, the Dimensity 7050 has LPDDR5 and LPDDR4x memory compatibility. The storage support is UFS 2.1 and UFS 3.1 with the latest Dimensity 7000 series chipset. The additional features offered by the latest Dimenisty 7050 processor are 1080 x 2520 pixels max display resolution, up to 200MP camera support, up to 4K@ 30 fps video encoding, and playback support.
