Tata Punch EV Battery And Range

This second-generation pre EV architecture from Tata is claimed to improve the ride dynamics and also performance and allow a riding range from 300- 600 km per charge. It is being anticipated that the Tata Punch EV will offer around 400 km range with a single charge.

But the specific figures for the variant wise range remains unspecified. That said, the Tata Punch EV standard model is expected to be powered by a 25kWh battery pack. On the other hand, the Punch EV’s Long Range model is expected to be driven by a bigger 35 kWh battery module. The latter will be offering a higher range per charge cycle.

Tata Punch EV Full Variants List

Both Tata Punch EV Standard and Long Range models will further be segregated in different trims. The variants will include Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+. The Standard Range variant will be available in all the aforementioned trims, while the Long Range model will come in Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+ trims.

Tata Punch EV Design: Overhaul Or Identical To ICE Version?

The Tata Punch EV flaunts a continuous running LED DRL upfront which seems familiar to the new-gen Nexon EV facelift model. As indicated by the previous leaks, the charging slot is mounted at the front neatly tucked inside the charging flap with the Tata logo.

The Tata Punch EV looks distinctive when compared to the ICE version in many aspects. It has a more bold and masculine form factor which is further complemented by the dual tone bumper design and spoiler mounted on the roof. Tata Punch EV is expected to be priced starting at Rs. 12 lakh in India. The exact variant wise pricing details are not revealed currently, but Tata could soon share some information regarding the same. Tata emphasizes the adaptability of the Acti.EV architecture that supports various battery packs such as cylindrical or prismatic, including LFP batteries. With a range of 300-600 kilometers, these batteries can be charged using an 11kW AC charger or a fast 150kW DC charger. The platform facilitates front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive configurations, offering a power output ranging from 80hp to 230hp.

The Acti.EV platform boasts advanced features like vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging capabilities. V2V enables one Tata vehicle to charge another, while V2L allows the EV’s battery to power various medium and high-voltage gadgets, enhancing flexibility and utility.

Tata Acti.EV: Chassis And Electrical Architecture

Designed to meet strict safety standards, the Acti.EV architecture aims for a 5-star crash test rating. The crash structure prioritizes protection for the battery inside and pole impact tests, using a high percentage of Ultra High Strength Steel. The efficient packaging includes a flat floor for enhanced space efficiency, a front boot (frunk), and additional ground clearance for diverse road conditions.

Acti.EV’s 5G-Enabled Electrical System

Beyond its structural prowess, the Acti.EV architecture incorporates a 5G-enabled electrical system, allowing for over-the-air updates and cloud computing. The digital cockpit experience, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, welcomes third-party apps and services. Some models will feature Level 2 autonomous driver technology, with Level 2+ capabilities on the horizon for future releases.

Ather Energy has finally taken the wraps off its most hyped electric scooter- Apex 450. The EV startup from Bengaluru has kickstarted 2024 with this new high-speed electric scooter which also is now the most premium offering. Ather has loaded the Apex 450 with an electric motor that has 7kW rated capacity. This is a marginal upgrade over the Ather 450X that utilizes a 6.4 kW motor. The Apex 450’s motor can produce a peak torque figure of 26Nm. This new motor aids with increasing the top speed of the e-scooter.

Battery And Range

Ather hasn’t made any changes to the battery size. The 450 Apex is packed with the identical 3.7 kWh battery module as the Ather 450X. But despite the same battery size, Ather has made significant improvement with the performance and the range is increased to 157 km per charge. This is achieved with the new regenerative breaking system.

Do note that this is the certified range and the True range claimed by the company is 110 km per charge. As for the battery charging time, Ather claims Apex 450 will take around 5 hours and 45 minutes for a full charge.

Acceleration And Top Speed

The upgraded electric motor inside the Apex 450 e-scooter allows it to reach over 100kph. That’s when the high-performance mode is activated. This makes it the only Ather scooter till date to reach this top speed. Additionally, the Apex 450 e-scooter features Warp+ mode. This is an exclusive mode for the new variant which helps it to reach 0-40kph in just 2.9 seconds.

Additional Features

Amomgst the unique set of features offered by the Apex 450 e-scooter is the ‘Magic Twist’. This feature slows down the e-scooter by simply twisting the accelerator backward by 15 degrees without actually using the brakes. Furthermore, the Apex 450 e-scooter features a large 7-inch digital display with navigation support.

Ather 450 Apex Price In India

The Ather 450 Apex e-scooter is launched with a starting price tag of Rs. 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This new flagship Ather electric scooter will be available in Indium Blue color option. The pre-bookings have started and the deliveries are set to commence starting March this year.

Inside of the cabin is where the upcoming 2024 Mahindra XUV400 electric gets some noteworthy upgrades. The 2024 Bajaj Chetak Urbane variant has been launched at a starting price of Rs. 1.15 lakh. The second variant, i.e., the Chetak Premium costs slightly higher and can be purchased at Rs. 1.35 lakh. The latest 2024 Bajaj Chetak Premium e-scooter employ a 3.2 kWh battery pack, while the Chetak Urbane e-scooter is equipped with a 2.9 kWh battery pack. The former delivers a maximum riding range of up to 127 km on a single charge, whereas, the latter offers 113 km range on a single charge. An 800W charger is used for battery recharge.
