WhatsApp Reportedly Working On A New App For macOS Users

WhatsApp is allegedly working on a new desktop app for macOS. According to WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned platform is developing a form of the app that uses the Mac Catalyst framework. It allows developers to develop iPad applications for macOS Monterrey directly.

The new app is likely to be available in the App Store unlike the WhatsApp desktop software, which can be downloaded directly from the website. Unfortunately, the app is under development so it is not possible to download it on your Mac from the App Store at the moment.

According to the report, when you open WhatsApp for macOS for the first time, you need to scan the QR code to link your phone. You may scan the QR code generated by WhatsApp for macOS immediately under WhatsApp Settings > Linked devices. Users will be able to link their Android WhatsApp accounts with macOS.

WhatsApp recently announced a beta version of its Android and iOS-based apps with multi-device support. According to reports, the company is planning to release the second iteration of this feature called Companion Mode.

The upcoming Companion Mode will allow users to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices at the same time. According to the blog site, this is already feasible when connecting a PC to the primary WhatsApp account via WhatsApp web). However, the Companion mode will enable WhatsApp users to use their accounts on a secondary smartphone.

To recall, WhatsApp had released a (UWP)-based (Universal Windows Platform) app for Windows users last year. The app is accessible on the Microsoft Store, and because it is built on the Universal Windows Platform, it can sync in the background and get notifications even when it isn’t running.

WhatsApp Rolls Out New Features

The company has begun to roll out the option to create WhatsApp groups with up to 512 members. Furthermore, the company has also started rolling out the ability to exchange media files up to 2GB on its platform. These features were earlier announced this month.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G Vs OPPO F19 Pro Vs Vivo V21e: Which Mid Range Phone Is Best In India?

The Indian smartphone market is constantly flourishing with new Android and iOS devices. But for the budget audience, there are a plethora of options in the Android ecosystem.  Multiple smartphone OEMs such as OnePlus, OPPO, Vivo, Realme, etc., are popular amongst the audience for their budget smartphones. Specifically in India, these brands are go-to options when it’s sub Rs. 25,000 price segment.

If we speak of the latest Android phones that are fully packed in terms of hardware and retail with a lower price tag then there are numerous options from the aforementioned brands. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is the recent Android smartphone priced below Rs. 20,000 and backed with capable hardware features.

But several other models such as the OPPO F19 Pro and the Vivo V21e bring some stiff competition to the Nord CE 2 Lite. All three handsets are tagged as the strongest contenders below Rs. 20,000 in India. But which out of the three budget Android phones has the best price and sepcs ratio? This comparison article breaks it down for you:

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite Vs OPPO F19 Pro Vs Vivo V21e: Display Specification Comparison

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G brings a standard LCD panel to the table. The display size is the biggest among all three models at 6.59-inches. The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G’s display supports 1080 x 2412 pixels screen resolution and a pixel density of 401 PPI. The panel also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and improved frame rates during gameplay.

Coming to the OPPO F19 Pro, this mid-range phone employs a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with 1080p FHD+ screen resolution. The display specifications are better on the OPPO F19 Pro and the Vivo V21e. However, if you want to go with a bigger screen size then the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G will be a decent pick.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite Vs OPPO F19 Pro Vs Vivo V21e Camera Hardware: Which Is Best For Photography?

The camera hardware is good on all three models. Starting with the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, the mid-range Android 5G smartphone is packed with a 64MP main camera which has an f/1.7 aperture. The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G’s primary camera sensor is aided by a pair of 2MP sensors for macro and depth shots with an f/2.4 aperture.

The F19 Pro features a 48MP main lens with an f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide angle sensor, and a set of 2MP sensors for macro and depth mapping. The remaining Vivo V21e camera hardware includes an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a pair of 2MP lenses. The rear camera hardware is best on the Vivo V21e, and so is the selfie snapper. While the V21e packs a 44MP selfie camera, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G and the OPPO F19 Pro 5G accommodate a 16MP selfie camera. The Vivo V21e is clearly the winner in the camera department.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite Vs OPPO F19 Pro VS Vivo V21e: Chipset Comparison

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 5K Renders Out; Familiar or New Design?

Samsung seems to have commenced production of its next-generation foldable Galaxy smartphones. The South Korean tech giant has started working on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The rumour mill is gradually getting flooded with new information related to both the aforementioned Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable smartphones. The latest comes in the form of exclusive 5K renders of the Galaxy Z Fold.  The foldable Galaxy phone’s 360-degree video along with the 5K renders leaves a little to the imagination. Here’s what all you need to know:

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Leaked 5K Renders, 360 Video Reveals Full Design

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 isn’t much different compared to its predecessor, i.e, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in terms of design. The company has made some changes to the design but not something major. A report via Smartprix in association with reliable tipster @Onleaks has brought us the fresh Galaxy Z Fold 4 5K renders and the 36-degree video. Going by the report, Samsung has only made slight changes to the dimension and the rear camera system’s design.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 will measure 155 x 130 x 7.1 mm in dimensions. This is less than the previous-gen model (Galaxy Z Fold 3) which has 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4mm dimensions. This is when both handsets are in the unfolded state. The foldable design is the same on both Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3. However, the back panel is slightly reworked on the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Unlike the previous-gen model where the triple camera module was tucked inside a vertical module on the upper left corner, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has three protruding sensors housed separately in a vertical alignment. If you look closely, the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s camera design seems familiar to the Galaxy S22 series’ high-end variant, i.e, the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Furthermore, the leaked 5K render images of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 hint at a similar front design language. The specifications tipped for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 includes a 6.2-inch outer display (when folded) and a 7.6-inch panel (when unfolded). The company is also expected to use an under-display camera for optics. But the specifications are not revealed just yet. We are waiting for the leaks to reveal more details on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 which we will share once available.
