The Vivo T2 was initially rumored to launch sometime in May 2022 in China, but later the brand via its official Weibo handle announced a June 6 timeline for the successor of the Vivo T1 5G. The reason for the delay wasn’t revealed then. In the fresh development, Vivo has once again taken to the Chinese microblogging website to confirm the delay in the Vivo T2’s launch.

The device will not be announced on June 6 as per the new official post. However, the next date for the Vivo T2 launch is not announced just yet. It remains to be seen if the company has postponed the launch for next month (July) or later.

If we go by the online reports, the Vivo T2’s launch delay is being said due to the surging COVID cases in China. However, no official confirmation on this has been given by the company. It shouldn’t be long before we come across the exact timeline for the Vivo T2 official launch. We are waiting for the announcements on the same and will share the update once available.

The Vivo T2 has been leaked several times with all the key specifications. Going by the rumors, the Vivo T2 could make it debut in the market as a rebadged iQOO Neo 6 SE. The Vivo T1 5G’s successor is said to be powered by the premium Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 octa-core chipset. This handset could come with up to 12GB LPDDRX5 RAM for multitasking.

The leaks suggest up to 256GB storage configuration and Android 12 OS topped with a FunTouch OS custom interface. The Vivo T2 might ship with an OLED screen of a 6.62-inch size. It will come with 1080p FHD+ screen resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. We might see a waterdrop style notch upfront packed with a big 16MP selfie camera.

The Vivo T2’s primary camera hardware at the back is said to comprise a 64MP main lens. The additional sensors could be an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP macro lens. The Vivo T2 is expected to offer an in-display fingerprint scanner for security and use a 4,700 mAh for power delivery. The device is further tipped to support 80W fast charging technology.

The website does not reveal anything about the Oppo Reno 8Z other than its name and support for the 5G network. The EU declaration of the device with the model number CPH2457, on the other hand, provides more information regarding the phone’s battery capacity and charging speed. The phone’s expected specifications are similar to that of the Oppo Reno 7Z 5G which was released in Thailand earlier this year in March. According to reports, the Oppo Reno 8Z 5G will run ColorOS 12.11 which is based on Android 12. It would be powered by a 4,500mAh battery and capable of quick charging at 33W.

The Oppo Reno 8Z 5G will be the successor to the Reno 7Z 5G. Currently, the Oppo Reno 7Z 5G is available in some markets outside of China. The Reno 7Z sports a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 695 5G SoC. As for the camera, the handset offers a 64MP main sensor and a 16MP selfie snapper. For power, the smartphone has 4,500mAh and it supports 33W SUPERVOOC charging. The Oppo Reno 8Z 5G is expected to launch in Europe soon and its India launch is going to be delayed.

Global Smartphone Sales Likely Dropping By 3% This Year: What’s The Reason?

Even though smartphone companies have launched or launching devices aggressively, the sales are likely to fall three percent this year. The new study conducted by Counterpoint said that the total sales of the devices are expected to decrease by three percent year on year.

According to the report, the smartphone market is expected to shrink to 1.36 billion units in 2022. The report forecasts that the supply situation might improve in 2022 as against last year, but component shortages are still there. Also, chances of recovery are failing due to China’s recession and the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

Peter Richardson, Vice President at Counterpoint Research, said, “For the long term, we continue to expect a steady migration from feature phones to smartphones and 3G/4G to 5G smartphones. As efforts to spread low- and mid-priced 5G devices continue, the global market for 5G devices are expected to show healthy growth and act as a significant driver of the overall smartphone market.”

The report also pointed out that China’s zero-tolerance approach towards the COVID-19 and lockdowns in the cities are the behind slowing down its economy. Plus closed factories and rising logistics costs are causing chain reactions in the global economy.

In addition, the report said that the war between Russia and Ukraine also plays an important role as consumer sentiment has declined due to global uncertainty. Plus, the decreasing impact of the dollar is also impacting emerging countries.

“However, the outlook for a smartphone market recovery in the second half still stands. At the end of May, the Chinese government convened a meeting for large-scale economic stability countermeasures. The government is expected to implement more aggressive policies to stimulate the economy in the second half. Besides, we believe that new foldable smartphone launches, led by Samsung, will be able to stimulate demand in the premium segment,” said Senior Analyst Liz Lee added.

Samsung Galaxy A series is rumored to get a new entry-level phone soon. The Galaxy A04s is the model that has been paying visits to the rumor mill for the last few months. Back in April this year, we at Giznext also shared an exclusive report that revealed the Galaxy A04s’ 5K renders. Since then, this budget Galaxy A series phone has been leaked multiple times including the recent benchmark website listing on Geekbench. We now know the chipset and benchmark scores of the Galaxy A04s. Check the details below:

Samsung Galaxy A04s Chipset Confirmed Via Geekbench

As per the Geekbench database, the Galaxy A04s bear the SM-A047F model number. This same model number has been tipped a couple of times via other certification portals. The benchmark website mentions the octa-core Exynos 850 chipset under the Galaxy A04s’ hood.

This information corroborates with previous leaks suggesting the same in-house entry-level Exynos processor for the Galaxy A03s successor. Furthermore, the Geekbench database also hints at a 3GB RAM configuration. We will have to wait to be sure if there is any other RAM model in the tow.

The storage options are not listed on the benchmark website. However, the 3GB RAM model will probably ship with a 32GB onboard storage configuration. The handset will also feature an additional microSD card support that could supplement up to 512GB or 1TB of extra storage space.

The Android 12 OS is also confirmed by the benchmark website. Lastly, the benchmark scores; the Galaxy A04s has logged 152 points in the single-core test on Geekbench, while in the multi-core test, it achieved 585 points which is fair for an entry-level Android phone.

OPPO K10 5G Design, Specifications Spotted Via New Leak

Tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore on Twitter has shared the fresh details related to the OPPO K10 5G. The render images shared by the tipster reveal refreshed design with the back panel featuring a single-tone paint job. This is the iconic Reno Glow design that OPPO has been using with new-generation Reno phones. Two color options of the handset have been shown in the render images including ice blue and black.

Furthermore, a vertical camera module is placed on the top left with two large sensors and an LED flash. The OPPO k10 5G’s leaked images also confirm the placement of the volume keys on the left panel and the power key on the right spine. This allows for easy operability with volume adjustments and device unlock.

The placement of the 3.5mm headphone jack and the USB Type-C port is not visible in the render images. However, we believe they both will have the usual positioning at the bottom panel. Upfront, the OPPO K10 5G will feature a standard waterdrop style notch that will accommodate the selfie camera. The bezel-profile on the OPPO K10 is slim on the sides but thicker at the bottom.
