ChatGPT Outage : Major Indian Cities Affected?

ChatGPT, the AI chatbot went down yesterday with its services getting unavailable for the masses for almost an hour. This outage is said to have affected thousand of users across the globe from 5 PM to 6 PM IST. ChatGPT users started taking it to different platforms to report the outage affecting ChatGPT services.
Most of the users reported common errors such as “Error 503: Service Temporarily Unavailable” and “Web server reported a bad gateway”. This issue is commonly witnessed when using internet-based platforms. Downdetector, the popular platform reporting service outages confirmed ChatGPT’s service unavailability.
While the outage affected numerous users globally, ChatGPT users from Tier 1 and Tier 2 Indian cities were largely impacted by the ChatGPT outage. Users from Agra, Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, and Lucknow took the hit with the ChatGPT services going down.

OpenAI promptly responded to outage reports and assured the masses the issues are being looked upon and a fix would be implemented to resume ChatGPT services. Thankfully, the company was able to find the issue that was stopping the masses from accessing ChatGPT AI chatbot. In a post on X, the company cited high APIs error rates and issues with its provider that led to the global ChatGPT outage.

Impact On Masses?

As stated above, thousands of users were impacted with the ChatGPT outage. And not just India, users from different parts of the globe were heavily impacted with the ChatGPT outage. This AI chatbot is currently being used by numerous working professionals which is why an hour long outage led to social media outcries.
