Hyundai is all set to expand its EV operations in India with the launch of new Creta EV. The South Korean car manufacturer had recently launched the facelift version of Creta and is expected to introduce the EV version by the end of this year. The spy shots of the production-ready Creta EV has also surfaced which confirms its upcoming India launch. The leaked test mule of the Creta EV has also revealed the design which seems slightly modified compared to the ICE variant.

Hyundai Creta EV Testing Begins In India: Design Revealed?
The Hyundai Creta EV’s production ready test mule has been spotted on the streets wrapped heavily with camouflage taping. While the wrapping hides the prominent design elements, it is evident that the major design cues have been borrowed from the Creta facelift model. But rumors as well the leaked test mule image does suggest slight alteration that will be limited to the EV model.
The list of design updates highlighted by the Creta EV’s leaked test mule images shows aerodynamic-alloy wheels which will improve its road stance. The Creta EV could feature a new blanked-off grille and house the charging port upfront. The spy shots has inly showcased the exterior design and not the interiors.
However, it is rumored that the cabin structure and features of the Creta EV will be identical to the Creta facelift ICE version. It is expected to sport a large 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster which will have Android Auto and Apple Car Play support. Hyundai might alter the cabin theme for the EV variant.

The Hyundai Creta EV is expected to use the same electric motor as the Kona electric which is available in the international markets. The electric motor on the Creta EV will be mounted on the front axle. It is expected to produce around 138 hp of peak power. The upcoming electric SUV could produce a peak torque of 255 Nm.
The smaller battery size of the Creta EV has been grabbing the headlines. Rumors have indicated the Creta EV will be using a 45 kWh battery pack which could offer around 250 km range on a full charge.
