Qualcomm has officially launched the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a successor to last year’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This new chipset promises better CPU, GPU, and AI performance. It is made for high-performance smartphones, especially gaming-focused ones. Unlike Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite, this chip is built on TSMC’s 4nm process and features hardware-accelerated ray tracing for enhanced graphics.

- The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 delivers up to 31 percent better CPU performance compared to its predecessor.
- It features Arm Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 cores, clocked at speeds up to 3.2GHz.
- The Adreno 825 GPU supports ray tracing and offers a 49 percent boost in graphics performance.

- Equipped with an updated Hexagon NPU, AI performance is 44 percent better than the previous generation.
