Volvo EM90 Electric Minivan Key Highlights: Powertrain And Features

The Volvo EM90 is a modern electric minivan that is based on Zeeker 009’s platform. The latter is also an electric minivan which Volvo has already introduced in the market. The new electric minivan from Volvo flaunts a trendy yet neat design overall.

Since it borrows the same design framework from the Zeeker 009 electric minivan, the familiarity is visible with the door handles and side mirror design. The flashy front grille which seems all metallic adds to the overall stance of the latest Volvo electric minivan.

The interiors of the Volvo EM90 electric minivan is still not disclosed by the brand. But we are expecting the official teasers to reveal more details in the coming days. With the interior design is under the wraps, it becomes difficult to guess what all features will be added. The size of the digital instrument cluster is also not known at this point but we are expected a connected car system-enabled platform.

Moving on to the powertrain details, the Volvo EM90 is said to be powered by a rear-mounted electric motor. This is different than the dual-motor system which is used by the Zeeker 009 minivan. Also, the power delivery by the EM90 is lower than the Zeeker 009. The former will deliver 268 hp (199 kW) peak power instead of 536 hp (399 kW) peak power.

Other details such as the peak torque, battery capacity, charging time, and top speed of the Volvo EM90 are expected to be teased gradually going forward.
