The Breakdown Issue?

As per Xiaomi, the SU7 breakdown occurred due to a software misidentification where the DPB/ BCP (primary brake controller) “misidentified and degraded” which eventually activated the backup braking method. This further led the auxiliary brake comtroller (ESP/ BCS) to respond directly triggering the braking system and vehicle stoppage. This entire issue then displayed braking system failure on the instrument console.

The brand also clarified that the when the backup braking system is activated, the ESP utilizes the DPB brake fluid for improved braking pressure. Since the braking module tends to switch between the primary and secondary system, it led to a decreased cylinder pressure valve of the main brake dropping it down to 0.
