OPPO has been a prominent player in the smartphone space. But the company has been expanding its reach to other segments as well; specifically, the audio segment. And similar to the smartphones, OPPO’s audio product lineup has also been catering to the wide genre of audience. The OPPO Enco series is one of the best examples that is feeding the budget audience with high-end audio devices at affordable priced.
The Enco M32 is one of the recent wireless neckbands under Rs. 2,000 by OPPO. The company has launched a new green variant of this wireless neckband along with the same high-end features and refined sound quality. We at Giznext has received the Enco M32’s new green shade and have been using it as our daily driver. We have shared our feedback on its daily-life performance and also why it makes worth a buy. Take a look:
OPPO Enco M32 Wireless Neckband Design: Improved Ergonomics And Sturdy
The Oppo Enco M32 brings a wireless neckband design to the table which is comfortable yet robust. The neckband strap is made of a rubberized-texture plastic whose smoother finish and lightweight form factor makes it super comfortable to wear all day long. What grabs your attention here is the dark greenish shade with a matte appeal. It is a flexible neckband which doesn’t get impacted with hard twists and turns.
The neckband’s stem on either side and the cables connecting the earbuds have a good build quality. You can feel the sturdiness the moment you grab this wireless neckband. Besides, the earbuds have magnetic latch that helps the pair from accidentally falling off during outdoor usage. The in-ear design offers a snug fit design which along with the rubber grips on both eartips aid with passive noise cancellation.
The rubber layering also helps with added grip during extensive usage. The controls along with the USB Type-C port are placed on the right end. One of the useful features that you can’t miss out using the OPPO Enco M32 is the intelligent magnetic latch that power off the neckband when the eartips are hooked using it. This is essentially an automatic on/off, play/pause feature.
Once you pull off the eartips the neckband powers on. This is useful when you are in a rush and wish to tuck it in the bag rather than powering off the unit entirely. The OPPO Enco M32 also has IP55 certification with which it becomes dust and water resistant. The OPPO Enco M32 gets all ticks when it comes to design.
The OPPO Enco M32 delivers high-resolution audio via 10mm composite titanium-plated dynamic audio drivers. The wireless neckband offers a frequency response range of 20Hz- 20,000KHz. This range is standard for affordable audio neckbands and headphones. The Enco M32 features SBC and AAC audio codecs. However, this time OPPO has skipped the Sony Hi-Res LDAC codec which has been the biggest highlight in the previous-generation model.
But the clarity levels aren’t entirely compromised. The audio quality is premium with the sound stage being wide and rich. The bass fills through the room when you have the neckband. All thanks to the independent bass chambers in each earbud that helps with this enhanced bass delivery. The audio listening experience has been flagship grade throughout despite it being a budget pair.
Be it music of varied genre, movies or shows, and gaming, the performance has been satisfactory. The audio output remains unaffected at peak levels. No distortion or muffling is what we are speaking of. The audio leakage isn’t an issue as well at the loudest levels. What impressed us more is the pair doesn’t sound shrill or hollow. You listen balanced output whenever you plug in this pair with good bass levels.
The OPPO Enco M32 is packed with Bluetooth 5.0 that helps with wireless connectivity. The wireless neckband is compatible with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and PCs. It even support modern days smartTVs that support Bluetooth connectivity. There have been no issues with the connectivity or pairing process. You just need to power in the wireless earphones and wait for the Bluetooth pairing command and complete the pairing from the settings menu of the device to be connected. The pairing process hasn’t been a hassle at all. The added dual-connection option helps with multiple device pairing which is another welcome feature offered by the affordable wireless OPPO neckband.
As for the calling experience, it has been good as well. There were no audio stutters or audio breakage on either the caller or the receiver’s end. The Enco M32 uses an omnidirectional MEMC microphone that offer ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) with voice calls. This technology is beneficial with better voice clarity with both incoming and outgoing calls.
As for the battery backup, the OPPO Enco M32 is a beast. It is touted to deliver up to 28 hours of backup with a single charge. The numbers vary with audio levels. However, you get more than a day of backup on a single charge. The Enco M32 also has fast charging support where 10 minutes of quick refueling adds 14 to 15 hours of backup.
OPPO Enco M32 Wireless Neckband Review: Final Verdict
If you step out to buy a budget wireless neckband in India, you will have numerous options in the sub Rs. 2,000 category. But the OPPO Enco series has been a popular choice for the audience in this segment. We have tested the Enco M32 extensively and found it to be the at par with the competitions. In fact, it is well ahead in its league with the improved ergonomics and premium sound signature at an asking price of Rs. 1,799. Besides, the new green color variant stands out of the crowd with its overall appeal.
Why we recommend the Reno7 Pro 5G as your next premium flagship purchase
The OPPO Reno Series, a flag bearer in innovative imaging is one of the most promising line-ups among smartphone brands. This is why I have been excited about OPPO’s India launch of the new Reno7 Series: The Reno7 Pro 5G crowned the portrait expert, and the power-packed allrounder the Reno7 5G, has the audiences raving. I recommend the Reno7 Pro 5G as your next premium flagship purchase, and here are the top five reasons that make it a must-buy.
Photography Redefined with Flagship Portrait Camera System
OPPO’s Reno series has always delivered a brilliant imaging performance and the Reno7 Pro 5G is no different. But what makes this device special is how OPPO has managed to pack a plethora of camera breakthroughs to make it the complete camera smartphone.
Taking the lead here is its 32MP front camera that uses the IMX709, the world’s most sensitive camera sensor. It is also OPPO’s first exclusive RGBW fusion sensor designed in collaboration with Sony. Now, what this superb tech delivers is sharper, clearer, and brighter selfies; it captures 60% more light and reduces noise by 30% when compared with traditional RGGB sensors. The IMX709 also comes with the first application of DOL-HDR technology that simultaneously captures long- and short exposure images to deliver detailed, crisp, evenly-exposed photographs.
The front camera takes the selfie game to another league as it automatically identifies the number of people in the frame and switches angles from 80degree to 90degree using the smart wide-angle feature to give you the best group selfie ever.
The IMX709 is fabricated using the 22nm process thus making it use less power when compared with any other flagship front camera. Keeping the technicalities aside, the Reno7 Pro 5G sets the selfie benchmark high making it my personal favorite.
On the rear, the Reno7 Pro 5G employs a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor clubbed with an 8MP ultrawide shooter, a 2MP macro snapper, and a color temperature sensor. The large IMX766 (1/1.56-inch) uses OPPO’s Quadra Binning algorithm and All Pixel Omni-Directional PDAF camera technologies to deliver sterling camera performances, especially in low light.
Using innovative imaging algorithms such as Portrait Mode and AI Highlight Video, the device helps you to capture professional-looking photos/videos in any scenario.
In the Portrait mode, the camera uses pro depth of field and bokeh algorithms to reconstruct the bokeh light spots similar to DSLR cameras. You can choose from 25 levels of bokeh adjustment. This mode, which enhances the subject to retain its natural look and brightness, is one of my preferred shooting modes for candid clicks and I am completely impressed that the device can give any high-end DSLR a run for its money.
Most smartphones are capable of delivering great portrait videos during the day but the real test of a powerful camera is its ability to take good quality videos at night. This is where the Reno7 Pro 5G sets itself apart. Its Ultra Night Video algorithm is automatically activated in low light conditions when you use the AI Highlight Video feature. This allows the Reno7 Pro 5G to capture bright and vivid night-time portrait videos. The handset delivers an outstanding portrait imaging experience and one that I will surely recommend to my friends and family.
A Phone That You’ll Love to Flaunt
OPPO is known for its unique smartphone designs. The Reno7 Pro 5G is no different and is arguably one of the best-looking premium phones. It is the slimmest Reno ever and measures just 7.45mm and weighs 180gm.
The Reno7 Pro 5G is also the first smartphone to see the application of aircraft-grade LDI (Laser Direct Imaging) technology on the back panel of the device. Traditionally used to design PCBs in the aviation industry, LDI technology creates 1.2 million micro etchings on the device to give its rear surface a unique textured pattern on top of the OPPO Glow Design. This creates starlight trails combined with a matte gradient to achieve a unique look.
But it’s not just the back panel that is delightful. Its ‘Twin Moon’ camera design also grabbed my attention. OPPO, for the first time, has experimented with ceramics to decorate the lower half of the camera array. The upper half uses a metal ornament layering. But OPPO hasn’t paused there. The Reno7 Pro 5G’s rear camera module has 3D ‘Orbit Breathing lights’ that emit soft pulsating illumination with every notification; it also lights up while charging enhancing the overall visual appeal.
I am glad OPPO has kept in mind all the durability factors and layered both front and rear panels with 2.5D glass with a middle aluminum flat-edged frame. The Reno7 Pro 5G is amongst the few that offer a complete package in terms of design.
For the Reno7 Pro 5G, it’s not just the camera or the design that steals the limelight. It packs the octa-core Dimensity 1200-MAX 5G SoC, a customized 5G chipset that is specifically designed for the Reno7 Pro 5G. The chipset supports the camera capabilities of the device with AI Deblur and AI-PQ tech that prevents blurring in portraits affected by hand-held shaking and enhances color and contrast in HDR videos respectively. This chipset offers faster processing and consumes less power than standard Dimensity 1200 SoC.
My user experience with the Reno7 Pro 5G has been the best so far. No hiccups or lags while using heavy apps. The multitasking experience also gets super refined with 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM configuration. Besides, OPPO’s self-developed RAM expansion technology allows you to use an additional 3GB/5GB/7GB RAM from storage. This comes in handy if you use heavy apps for photo editing or to play graphic-rich 3D gaming.
Amplifying the mobile gaming experience here is the top-notch display combined with Ultra Touch Response technology. For reference, the Reno7 Pro 5G employs a tall 6.5-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz that helps with smoother frame transitions while gaming and media playback. Overall, the device delivers flagship-level performance.
Big Battery Complemented By Fastest Charging Speeds In Its Segment
One of the many reasons that make the Reno7 Pro 5G my recommendation in the premium mid-range segment is its 4,500mAh battery combined with 65W SuperVOOC fast-charging technology. Now, this is ample to get you through an entire day of usage on a single charge.
Besides, the faster-charging speeds are a blessing. I was able to get approximately two hours of gaming with just 5 minutes of charge. But if you are wondering how much time does a full charge take. That’s just around 31 minutes. Impressive right?
Elite User Experience With All-New ColorOS 12
The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G comes with the all-new ColorOS 12; its revamped UI is user-friendly and adds to the premium feel of this handset. I liked the enhanced themes, new 3D icons, and Omoji (personalized emoji feature).
One of the useful upgrades I came across is the PC Connect feature. This improved feature allows the Reno7 Pro 5G to pair with a PC or laptop simply by scanning a QR code.
OPPO has also improved the overall privacy with the new ColorOS 12 and equipped the latest OS with the Anti-peeping Notifications feature. I have been tired of keeping unwanted glances at bay from reading my notifications, especially when I commute by public transport, and this feature has been my savior.
So Why Is Reno7 Pro 5G Our Top Pick?
The OPPO Reno series has become my pick in the premium smartphone range. It is among those few line-ups that have it all: looks, camera, chipset, and battery. At under Rs. 40,000, you would be hard-pressed to find another smartphone that ticks all these boxes. The smartphone—with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM—is priced at INR 39,999 is available in two attractive colours Startrails Blue & Starlight Black. The smartphone comes with some fabulous offers at mainline retailers and on Flipkart from 8th February 2022.
OPPO IoT products
Alongside the Reno7 Series, OPPO also announced the launch of its IoT products. OPPO’s IoT portfolio, dubbed ‘Smart Life’ boasts cutting-edge technology that prioritizes users at the centre of development. As part of this vision, OPPO launched its Enco M32 neckbands in black earlier this year and is now have introduced a new green colour variant. The Bluetooth neckband earphones boast 20 hours of non-stop music playback with just 10 minutes of quick charge, an AI call-noise-reduction algorithm, an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance, and 10mm drivers. OPPO isn’t done adding devices to the recently launched Reno7 series. The first lot was announced with the standard Reno7, Reno7 Pro, and the Reno7 SE. Now, the fourth model in the OPPO’s premium mid-range series is popping up consistently via leaks. Called the Reno7 Z 5G, the upcoming variant is said to be the entry-level model in the Redno7 series. Confirming this speculation is the fresh Geekbench listing which hints at an affordable 5G chipset.
OPPO Reno7 Z 5G Chipset Revealed Via Geekbench
The OPPO Reno7 Z 5G has appeared on Geekbench database with the OPPO CPH2343 model number. According to the benchmark website, the Reno7 Z 5G will use an octa-core Qualcomm processor with 1.80GHz clock speed. The benchmark listing also mentions the ‘Holi’ motherboard. This as per the leaks is none other than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ processor. A bunch of affordable 5G phones has been announced by several Android OEMs in recent times.
The octa-core 5G Snapdragon 480+ processor on the new budget Reno phone will be combined with 8GB RAM. This has been revealed by the Geekbench listing. However, the storage capacity and other RAM options are not revealed. Nevertheless, the company would probably be pairing up the 8GB RAM capacity with 128GB storage. The handset would also come with additional storage capacity.
The Reno7 Z 5G will have Android 11 OS which will be topped with a custom Color OS interface. Speaking of the benchmark performance, the Reno7 Z 5G has managed to log 689 points in the single-core test and 198 points in the multi-core tests. That’s all the features and information that Geekebench has revealed on the Reno 7 Z 5G.
