Even though there is no concrete information on the 5G launch, the Indian Government is eyeing 6G services by 2030. This development was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the silver jubilee celebrations of the telecom regulatory (TRAI) event. He added that the task force has already started working on the same.

He said that the launch of the 5G and 6G services will create more jobs and offer faster internet speeds. Besides, both networks will increase economic progress. “Connectivity will determine the pace of progress in 21st century India. Therefore, connectivity has to be modernized at every level,” PM said while inaugurating the 5G testbed during the event.

It is worth noting that the testbed is an important step in the telecom sector. “The country’s own 5G standard has been made in the form of 5Gi. It is a matter of great pride for the country. It will play a big role in bringing 5G technology to the villages of the country.”

For the unaware, the 6G internet services are expected to be launched by the end of this decade and several reports claim that the speed is expected to be 1000 times higher than the existing services. In addition, the speed is likely to be 100 times better than the 5G services.

6G Expected Speed: Details

According to the University of Sydney, the speed of the upcoming service is expected to be between one terabyte to eight thousand gigabytes per second. The University also states that 6G services are expected to download 142 hours of the movie within seconds.
