How To Get Free Smartphone And Tablet From UP Government: See Here For All Details

To increase its vote bank in the upcoming election, UP Government is providing free laptops and smartphones to the final year students of the state. This is the second time when the UP government has announced this scheme as earlier Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister launched a free laptop yojana for students in 2013.

The new scheme will debut on December 25th, 2021 on the birth date of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. However, to get free tablet or smartphone from the government, students have to register themselves.

Steps To Register For The UP Government Scheme

Step 1: First, you need to visit the UP government website and tap on the schemes section.
Step 2: Click on the UP free Smartphone Application form 2021. Now, you’ll see the registration form.
Step 3: Download the form and fill in all details. Then, tap on the submit option.
Step 4: After that, you will receive the reference number for the application.

Eligibility Criteria For The Free Smartphone And Tablet Scheme

In case you are planning to register yourselves for the same scheme you should know about these things. First, you should be from UP and a student of MBBS, BSc, MD, MTech, MD, BA, and MTech.

Secondly, you should have 60 percent or above to get or apply for the scheme. Third, the annual income of the family should not be above Rs. 2,00000 and they should provide Aadhaar Card, mark sheet, caste certificate, contact details, recent passport size photo, college ID certificate, and residence proof.

Other Details Of The Scheme

It is worth noting that under this scheme, UP CM will give close to 1,0000 products to the eligible students. So, far 38 lakh students have applied for the same via Digi Shakti Portal. However, this number is expected to increase in the coming days as distribution will take place on December 25.

Furthermore, the government has already ordered smartphones and tablets worth Rs. 2,035 crore. Notably, the 10.50 lakh units of smartphones, which are close to Rs. 10,740 per unit has been placed and 7,20 lakh units of tablets that are close to Rs. 12,606 per tablet as per the official websites.
