Noticing the teaser video showcasing the LED lighting system of the Pova 5 Pro, Nothing, the company behind the recently launched Phone (2) smartphone, couldn’t resist a lighthearted jab at Tecno. In a witty tweet, Nothing retweeted the teaser with a playful message: “If you want to copy our homework, just ask next time?”

The teaser video revealed the intriguing LED lights featured on the Tecno Pova 5 Pro, demonstrating how they function during incoming calls. The phone’s unique design showcases three LED strips converging at one point, with an additional tiny LED visible at the center of the rear panel, forming an eye-catching oval design. Though not an exact replica of the Nothing Phone (2), the concept similarity prompted Nothing’s humorous response.

Arc Interface: A Unique RGB Backlit Design

Tecno dubs the LED lights featured on the Pova 5 Pro as the “Arc Interface.” According to tipster Ishan Agarwal on Twitter, these lights will serve as notification indicators, blinking to alert users of incoming calls. Different colors will represent various types of notifications. This innovative design sets it apart from the Nothing Phone.

Nothing still needs to worry about one brand, and that is Infinix. Infinix’s GT 10 Pro also shows a rear LED interface akin to Nothing Phone (2), sparking attention and raising concerns. The company calls it the ‘Cyber Mecha Design’ and plans to illuminate LEDs during gaming, notifications, and charging updates. While the resemblance has raised eyebrows, Infinix’s white and black color options mirror the dark grey Phone (2), creating additional chatter in the smartphone market.

Tecno Pova 5 Pro: Expected Launch Details

According to industry sources, Tecno is set to announce the Pova 5 Pro in August this year, but the official launch date is yet to be revealed. Amazon has also teased the upcoming device on its platform, hinting at its imminent availability in the market.
