Oppo is one of those brands known for bringing the latest innovations to the smartphone space. The company is now joining the foldable smartphone bandwagon with its upcoming smartphone. The Chinese tech giant is all set to host the Inno Days event next week where it will be unveiling its first foldable phone for the masses along with some other of its newest products. The Oppo Find N is the much-anticipated foldable phone which the company itself has teased ahead of the launch.
Oppo Find N Foldable Smartphone Design
Oppo’s foldable smartphone isn’t a new development, rather the brand has been rumored to be working on this handset since 2018. While brands like Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi have already launched their iteration of a foldable Android smartphone, Oppo didn’t make any official announcement surrounding the same until now. However, the latest tweet by the company reveals the first look.
It has been over around four years since the company has been working on the Find N foldable phone. The company says it has done intense and thorough R&D and worked upon as many as six generations of prototypes to get to the final product.
The company’s CEO, Pete Lau suggests that the majority of the smartphone industry has already reached the limit with regards to smartphone specifications. That is in context with smartphone cameras, higher display refresh rates, fast charging technology. This is why Oppo has now planned to finally venture into the foldable smartphone space which is the future of mobile tech.
Lau further said that the aim was to launch a foldable phone which is completely practical and will be more user-friendly. This is why the company invested this long duration in finishing the R&D to test the durability.
Lau said in a statement, “it is better to launch a product later when it is ready to offer a great user experience instead of simply rushing to keep up with the trends.”. If the rumors are to be believed, the Oppo Find N foldable phone will be launching on December 14. However, the company is yet to confirm this timeline officially.
Oppo Find N Expected Specifications
The Oppo Find N foldable phone’s specifications have been doing rounds online for a long now. Its inner display is said to measure 8-inches and would be an LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer display’s size isn’t specified, however, it is said to offer a standard 60Hz refresh rate and feature a punch-hole cutout housing a 32MP selfie camera.
The Oppo Find N is also rumored to be equipped with the Snapdragon 888 processor combined with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration. The foldable phone is speculated to offer a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera, a 16MP Sony IMX481 sensor, and a 13MP Samsung S5K3M5 lens. The battery capacity is tipped to be a 4,500 mAh unit aided by 65W fast charging.
