The EV manufacturer Raptee, based in Chennai, is working on an e-bike. This upcoming bike’s design was on display during the 2020 Indian Auto Expo. However, it appears that the pandemic adds to the launch time delay. On a city run, a test model of the 2023 Raptee electric bike was spotted. Under the camouflage, the test bike appears to be prepared for production. Read on for more information.

Raptee Design

The upcoming Raptee e-bike will have a hybrid design. How? Well, it combines the looks of a naked bike design and a fairing. An independent headlight and a tubular handlebar are featured on the front end. But a fairing is added to the battery and electric motor underneath the frame. The Ultraviolette F77 bike’s upcoming design is similar to this one.

The test bike that was spotted also has a little more determined riding posture. The rider triangle has a slightly upright, athletic appearance. The raised handlebars make the bike nimble in city traffic.

Raptee Features

Other design elements to notice are the split seats, glossy alloy wheels, and a chain drive system. This chain drive system differs from the concept model. The concept bike had a belt drive system, but Raptee’s engineers apparently dropped it for the performance.

It will also receive a big touchscreen TFT infotainment display. According to the industry standards, Bluetooth connectivity must be included as well. The test bike also has LED lighting.

Raptee Battery And Motor

Raptee is going to use a big electric motor on it. The battery and motor’s precise specifications are still a mystery. The company’s website now shows the performance metrics. It has a top speed of 135 kmph and a claimed riding range of 150 km on a single charge. It also reportedly has a 0-60 kmph time of 3.5 seconds. Using its CCS2 charging connector, its battery can be charged from 0 percent to 80 percent in 45 minutes.
