Samsung Galaxy A73 5G Vs iQOO 9 SE: Display Specification Comparison

Samsung is a major player in the mobile display game and is well known for packing high-end panels on its premium range phones. The Galaxy A73 5G comes as one good example. It features a tall 6.7inch display with an 80.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. The panel used is Super AMOLED, while the screen resolution offered is 1080 x 2400 pixels FHD+. The Galaxy A73 5G’s display also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The massive screen size and FHD+ screen resolution make it perfect for video playback, while the 120Hz refresh rate allows for smoother frame transitions with graphic-intensive games. 

The iQOO 9 SE is not far behind in the display game compared to the Galaxy A73 5G. It features a 6.62-inch display. The panel used here is also Super AMOLED which supports the same 1080 x 2400 pixels FHD+ screen resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The iQOO 9 SE’s display also supports HDR10+ certification for refined video playback experience at OTT platforms.

Samsung gets extra pointers in the camera department compared to the iQOO 9 SE with its quad rear camera setup comprising a 108MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The Galaxy A73 5G’s primary sensor comes with PDAF, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), and is clubbed with a 12MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and another 5MP sensor with the same f/2.4 aperture. The iQOO 9 SE has a less powerful camera hardware compared to the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G.

The iQOO 9 SE offers a triple rear camera module unlike the quad-lens setup on the Galaxy A73 5G. The primary camera here is also smaller, i.e, a 48MP lens with an f/1.8 aperture aided by a 13MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP additional depth sensor. Samsung has used a mid-range octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset. This is a gaming processor backed by 5G network connectivity and Adreno 642L GPU support. This Samsung Galaxy A series phone has been launched with up to 8GB RAM. While the Galaxy A73 5G RAM configuration announced is single, the storage configuration comes with dual 128GB RAM and 256B storage option. It also has an external microSD card for extra space.

The iQOO 9 SE gets more powerful compared to the Galaxy A73 5G with its Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. The flagship 5G octa-core processor is combined with Adreno 660 GPU for graphics. The iQOO 9 SE also has a higher up to 12GB RAM configuration which gives it an edge over the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G. However, the iQOO 9 SE’s onboard storage capacity is similar to the Galaxy 73 5G, i.e up to 256GB.

Both iQOO 9 SE and the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G feature the same Android 12 OS. However, the former has the Funtouch 12 custom OS, while the latter features OneUI 4.0 custom interface. As for the battery capacity, the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G gets its power from a 25W fast charging supported 5,000 mAH battery. The iQOO 9 SE has a slightly smaller 4,500 mAh battery but faster 66W rapid charging technology.

Overall, the iQOO 9 SE makes for a better option since it is priced lower compared to the Galaxy A73 5G and has a better chipset and fast charging technology. But if camera hardware is your preference, the Galaxy A73 5G is what you should consider out of the two.
