The Indian market remains the favorite destination for smartphone OEMs to launch affordable devices for the audience. It has been almost a decade since the Chinese brands have dominated the budget smartphone space in India and across the globe. While Oppo, Xiaomi, Realme, and Vivo are the pioneers in this field, some other Chinese brands have also emerged in recent times bringing some value for money handsets for the Indian customers.

Tecno is one of those Chinese brands which is flooding the Indian space with feature-rich smartphones. The brand recently expanded its Spark smartphone lineup with the Spark 8 series comprising three models. The newly introduced devices in this lineup include the Spark 8T, Spark 8 Pro, and the vanilla Spark 8. On the other hand, Oppo has also unveiled its new budget smartphone for the Indian audience called the A11s.

The display is one of the important factors which smartphone buyers keep in mind for their next purchase. The Spark 8T is packed with a 6.60-inch LCD display that supports 1080 x 2408 pixels FHD+ resolution. The Spark 8 Pro also offers an FHD+ LCD panel with 1080 x 2460 pixels screen resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The size offered by this model is the biggest at 6.80 inches.

The Oppo A11s is the only model here that offers a standard 720p HD+ resolution and a higher 90Hz refresh rate. The screen size is the smallest amongst all three models at 6.50-inches. You’ll get a punch-hole display cutout with an upper left positioning. If you are looking for a device with a big high-resolution panel suitable for movies and another video playback then the Spark 8 Pro is what you need to consider. However, if your requirement is smoother frame rates then the Oppo A11s is best suited for you.

Out of all three models, only the Oppo A11s offers a triple-lens camera module. The remaining two models are packed with a dual-camera setup. Starting with the Oppo A11s, this model comprises a 13MP main sensor which has an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and another 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture for depth mapping.

The Tecno Spark 8T is equipped with a 50MP main camera which supports an f/1.6 aperture and an AI sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The Tecno Spark 8 Pro’s dual-camera setup at the back includes a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.79 aperture and a 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. All three models feature an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calling that has the same f/2.0 aperture.

All three models listed here are packed with an entry-level processor. The Tecno Spark 8T is packed with an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 processor. The Spark 8 Pro also uses a MediaTek Helio G series processor; octa-core Helio G85 SoC to be specific. The performance delivered by both these handsets would be suitable for daily tasks such as calling, web surfing, and media playback.

Gaming experience would be decent too. All three models come with a 4GB RAM configuration. The Oppo A11s offers up to 128GB storage configuration, while the remaining two variants come with 64GB storage configuration. The storage expansion provision is also present.

Both Tecno Spark 8 models are launched with Android 11 OS. The UI pre-installed on both devices is also the same, i.e, HiOS 7.6. On the contrary, the Oppo A11s is introduced with the dated Android 10 OS which is topped with ColorOS 7.2 UI. If you want a new user experience, you should opt for the Teno models. The battery size inside all three handsets is a 5,000 mAh unit along with proprietary fast charging support.
