[Giznext Exclusive]: Daiwa To Launch Two New Smart TVs In Q1 2022; CEO Reveals Future Market Strategy

Daiwa, the homegrown appliance brand, has announced the launch of two new smart televisions in India. The Daiwa 4K UHD Smart TV D43U1WOS and Daiwa 4K UHD Smart TV D55U1WOS are the upcoming models expected to compete against Redmi TV, Infinix X1 Smart Android TV (43X1), and Xiaomi’s Mi TV.

Meanwhile, Giznext got a chance to do exclusive interaction with the company’s founder and CEO, Arjun Bajaj regarding their upcoming products and expansion plans.

It is important to note that the company has launched 10 smart televisions in the country and plans to bring two more televisions in small sizes in Q1 of the next year.

Daiwa Upcoming Products

“We have launched 43-inch and a 55-inch 4K TV today and will be launching 32-inch and 43-inch smart televisions in the Q1 of the next year,” Arjun said. He added that upcoming smart TVs will run on WebOS and will be priced aggressively.

He exclusively informed Giznext that that company is exploring more categories in the consumer electronics space and plans to bring a new washing machine in January.

The company has recently launched semi-automatic washing machines with four capacities that start from Rs. 7,990 and already available with leading stores.

The newly launched semi-automatic washing machines come with a rustproof body design, toughened glass, two years comprehensive warranty, and a five-year warranty on the wash motor.

Daiwa Expansion Plans

Apart from launching new products, the homegrown appliance brand will expand its manufacturing lines in the coming year. Currently, it is manufacturing its smart TVs in its factory in Greater Noida and will be increasing capacity in 2022.

In addition, the company is planning to expand its reach to other parts of the country. Notably, the company is doing really well in the north and west and now plans to increase its presence reach to the south and some parts of the east in 2022.

Furthermore, the smart television company might open its flagship stores in 2022. Shedding light on the stores, Arjun revealed that we might consider setting up our stores in the country next year. He added that due to COVID we have delayed several things.

Oppo Might Launch Smart Television In Q1 2022: Check Details Here

After becoming the top-five smartphone brand in India, Oppo is likely to launch smart television in the country. The company is expected to bring its first smart television in the first quarter of the next year. Besides, the upcoming smart television is likely to take on other brands, such as Realme, OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Motorola.

Oppo Smart TV Launch In India

It is worth noting that Oppo has already smart televisions in China. Oppo has not announced any launch date of the television. However, 91 Mobiles reported that the company will be bringing smart TV in the Q1 of 2022. This also means that the company will bring smart TV between January and March.

Oppo K9 Smart TV Range

Notably, Oppo launched smart television in K9 & R1 series in China. The K9 series includes three models, including 60Hz LCD along with HDR10+ certification along with HLG support. The K9 series will have a quad-core MediaTek processor and ColorOS TV 2.0 OS.

The K9 smart television series comes in three-panel sizes, i.e. 43,55, and 75 screen sizes. The K9 smart televisions come with 4K LCD panels along with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. In addition, the 75-inch screen comes with a 10-bit panel. It also supports 1.07 billion colours. The K9 smartphone television was launched in China in May 2021.

In addition, the Oppo K9 smart television runs Android with ColorOS TV 2.0 operating system. The smart television also has a quad-core MediaTek processor along with 2GB of RAM and 8/16GB of storage options. Besides, the television is equipped with all ports and it has few connectivity standards. i.e. Wi-Fi 6, e-ARC, and HDMI 2.1

Oppo Might Manufacture Smart Television In India

It is important to note that several reports also claim that Oppo might start manufacturing smart televisions in India. For the unaware, Xiaomi is the number one smart television maker with a 23 percent market share. Besides, Samsung captures 17 percent share, while LG manage to take the third spot with 11 percent share

On the other hand, Sony manages to get a 9 percent share and the OnePlus to achieve a 7 percent share in the country.

[GizNext Exclusive]: Thomson To Invest Over Rs. 300 Crores In New Factories; Product Export Strategies Underway

It seems that the craze of a large screen at home is increasing in India as smart television market reported 65 percent year-on-year growth in the June quarter. Thomson TV, a Super Plastronic brand, has also posted good growth over the past few years and specifically during the recent Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale in India.

Meanwhile, we managed to do an exclusive interaction with Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL), CEO Avneet Singh Marwah regarding the company’s investment plans, upcoming products, and market share.

Shedding light on the performance of the company in 2021, he said, there has been tremendous growth in the 65-inch and 55-inch screen sizes. Besides, 43-inch in 4K segment is the highest-selling category in smart televisions. Earlier, it used to be 32-inch and 42-inch screen sizes.

Thomson Investment Plans

In addition, the company is planning to open two more factories in the next two years, where one unit is said to be established in Hapur, while the other’s location will be announced in the Q1 of the next year. “The company has already made Rs. 200 crores investment in the factories and now, plans to invest more than Rs. 300 crores in the next two to three years,” Marwah said.

Going by the same, he exclusively informed GizNext that the Hapur factory will be operational by the end of the first quarter. In addition, he reveals that the company is planning to hire 5,000 skilled labour in three years for both factories.

Thomson Expansion Plans

Apart from investing in two upcoming factories, the smart television maker is working on different projects and investing heavily in the research and development.”We will start exporting our products by 2022 and we are already in talks with big retailers across the globe,” Avneet replied when asked about plans for exporting products.

He states that they have missed out on the opportunities this year due to corona and lockdown, but if the situations become favorable, they will start exporting products next year.

Thomson’s Plans To Manufacture Smartphones And Tablets

Furthermore, Marwah said that the company has no plans to manufacture smartphones and any other products for next three years. The brand will be primarily focusing on TVs and appliances during the same timeline.

This new wireless headset will go on sale on June 30, 2021, and will be available on Realme India’s website, Amazon and offline retail stores across India.

The newly launched Realme Buds Q2 is one of the most affordable truly wireless headsets with the active noise cancellation feature. It features an app support functionality through the Realme Link app which is compatible with both iOS and Android.
