OPPO Reno 8 series has been revamped with the launch of Reno 8T in India and global markets. The latest offering from the Reno series has arrived as a mid-range phone with 5G connectivity. OPPO is targeting the premium mid-tier market with this new Reno 8 series phone. This segment is frequently populated with new models and we have seen a couple of Snapdragon 695 5G processor phones including the latest Reno 8T 5G. We are pitting the latest Reno 8 series phone against the Poco X4 Pro 5G which is one of the popular Android phones with the same SD 695 SoC.

The OPPO Reno 8T 5G bestows an AMOLED screen. The display measures 6.7 inches with an FHD+ resolution, 800 nits peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate. The Poco X4 Pro 5G also employs an FHD+ display but the panel type is Super AMOLED.

The Poco X series phone’s screen’s refresh rate is 120Hz similar to the Reno 8T 5G but has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer instead of Asahi Glass AGC-DT2 protection. Both phones will offer premium visuals with gaming as well as video playback. That’s possible with the vivid color production and deeper blacks produced by the AMOLED screen on both phones combined with a high refresh rate.

The camera specs on the OPPO Reno 8T 5G comprises a 108MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and a pair of 2MP sensors for depth and macro photography. The front panel on the Reno 8T houses a 32MP camera for selfies and video calling.

When we speak of the Poco X4 Pro 5G, it has a 64MP main camera with an f/1.9 aperture combined with an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP macro lens. The larger main camera sensor will allow Reno 8T to produce clear shots, but the additional ultrawide sensor will allow the Poco X4 Pro to capture better and wide frames. Nevertheless, you can expect both these phones to perform well with photography. As for the selfie camera, the Poco X4 Pro 5G has a smaller 16MP lens.

Performance-wise, both the OPPO and Poco mid-range phones are powerful and can offer a lag-free user experience. You can select from up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage options for both phones.

The OPPO Reno 8T ships with the latest Android 13 OS, while the Poco X4 Pro 5G boots on Android 11 OS. This is one major difference between both these handsets. Battery capacity inside the OPPO Reno 8T and the Poco X4 Pro 5G is 4,800 mAh and 5,000 mAh respectively. However, the fast charging speeds is same on both models, i.e., 67W.

The OPPO Reno 8T is priced starting at Rs. 29,999 in India. However, the Poco X4 Pro 5G is retailing for as low as Rs. 15,499 with added discounts online. At a cheaper price tag, the Poco X4 Pro 5G does make for a decent alternative if you are ready to give up on improved camera quality for equivalent performance delivery. But if the camera is your preference then the Reno 8T 5G is what you should consider.
